If you have seen this style of jewelry called "Electroformed Jewelry", and have been interested in how it is produced then this book is for you. This book walks you through two different builds in case you want to try out the hobby before committing to the cost. The technique can be used in many hobbies not just jewelry making. Coating 3D printed objects, preserving organics and glass-work just to name a few. This hobby is very fun and slightly addicting so be careful once you start you'll be picking up small things and electroforming them just to prove you can. If it doesn't move you will try to electroform it.
I am just getting started in electroforming, and this book is well written, concise, and easy to understand. It also is extremely informative as to how to build your own setup as opposed to purchasing one of the expensive craft versions available in the marketplace today. His troubleshooting section at the end also is invaluable for a novice to understand the chemistry and process behind electroforming, and to be able to look at your own pieces and figure out exactly what needs to be changed in your setup in order to produce a perfect piece. Bravo!
It starts as an interesting book, it shows how to form jewelry, but the level of technology is very basic, much like a DIY Youtube video... Had the book explained the principles and shown how to scale the electroforming, how to get better and better results from DIY to a professional result, the book could be worth investing in. As it is the book is not worth your time. Simply nothing more than an instructable, a Youtube video or similar. All free.
