The world is very big to little children and full of situations that cause feelings that are hard to handle, like doubt, worry, and fear.
Telling children repeatedly that they will be okay isn't good enough because it doesn't address the underlying issue, which is the big negative feelings that are happening.
Share these funny pictures with your children while reinforcing the idea that they are not helpless and that there are things children can do for themselves to feel better about their situations.
Worried about mom and dad going out for the night? What can you do to feel better? Scared of a thunderstorm? What can you do to feel safe?
Learn the Mindful Mantra 'I will be okay' along with your children and practice it until it is an automatic thought. Then sit back, and prepare for your child to reassure you that they will be okay!
Children's author and publishing coach, Laurie Wright is a silly but smart, busy mom of three who laughs at her own jokes just a bit too much. The minivan is her sanctuary, and the only place she can sing out loud without being shushed. She’s known for her short term memory and extreme love of chips and dip. Usually on her best behavior, watch out when her filter wears off! Never without her laptop and a notebook. Trust her with your kids and your books, but not your coffee!
My daughter Nat has become enamored with all of the Mindful Mantras books to the point that she'll come running if I happen to have one around. I'm so appreciative of the formatting - Here's a potentially stressful situation, here are three possible ways for me to handle the situation, and voila, I am a problem solver and I will be okay! It gives children the chance to consider what positive actions they could take and it gives a reassuring message of "you'll be fine".
Sometimes kids are afraid of what they don't understand. Feelings can be tricky for adults so imagine how a young child may feel experiencing these things for the first time.
This engaging book helps children understand their feelings by putting them into a context that children would encounter in their daily lives.
Good illustrations and easy to understand dialogue makes this an excellent choice to share with the whole family.
As I read this story I thought about my grandson who is on the Spectrum. The book kind of uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to relay the message that it will be okay. It gives ideas of how to dampen anxiety by doing other activities or sharing feelings. I hope elementary schools have this book in thier library .
What I would give to have books like this and the rest of the series when I was a kid. All of them not only say that it's okay to feel the way you do but gives you a few constructive ideas on what to do about them. Action steps, it's all about moving forward even when you're feelings say no.
My children absolutely adore this book. Reading literature is so important to the development of a child's mind, and I cannot think of thing I would rather do then sit down to read to them in the evenings. Imagination and growth are so vital in those so young.
Even if you have upsetting experiences, you can still be ok. Lots of things can set us off, but if we self talk, distract, talk with others-- we know that we will be ok.

Beautifully illustrated by Ana Santos, this Mindful Mantras book helps kids cope in difficult circumstances. I thought it was an excellent book and would definitely recommend it.
This is a book about a child who has a wide array of feelings and emotions about certain situations. He has ideas he can try so he feels better and will feel okay. It is a good book for old-school to elementary aged children. Great for kids who might be dealing with issues currently and might need reassurance. It is a good book to help open conversation with a child. The illustrations are cute. I like how the book is laid out.
