A sharp and savage play about the animals we are and the people we try to be.

Liv is in trouble - her mum's planning a dog fight, her dad's getting out of jail, her brother's getting too close to her baby, the police are sniffing around and the pack is closing in.

"From the night you were born, puppy, I knew I'd do anything for you"

'disturbing... powerful... grisly and engaging' - The Times

'Ramsden hits upon something in Breed. It is a strong offering by a clearly talented young writer' - The Stage

I read this play after I had watched it on stage at Theatre503. It is a wonderful concept with beautifully created characters however I was left with the feeling that the story was a little hollow in the middle and that in attempting to raise the stakes the story became unbelievable in places. Despite my rating I still implore people to go and see the play as the production is excellent and the performances were astounding in places - however alas I fear great characters and a wonder theme was somewhat wasted and I wonder what could have been.
