Family, friends, food, a glass of bubbly and, of course, a good book make me smile. I love writing emotional stories about love, loss, betrayal, and family, that explore how complex and yet beautiful love can be. I also like to write romantic comedy, letting the characters have a bit of flirty fun too! I believe in following your dreams and working hard towards them, which led me to Harper Impulse (Harper Collins) and a publishing deal (woop!) after many years of writing. Stunning Northumberland is my home – sandy beaches, castles and gorgeous countryside that have inspired my writing.

This book was simply fantastic just didn't want it to end worth far more than the five stars. Lovely to go back to the wonderful seaside village and hear more about emma and her seaside chocolate shop. The characters are excellent and such a warm read and heartwarming and romantic and about friendship and getting what you want to be happy. Shows how easy life can change and you think you will loose everything but then how friends can help you to achieve your dream. You get so engrossed in the book you feel as if you are there at the seaside and with everyone. If you love chocolate then you will be more than happy as full of it and also how she changes her shop to improve it. Heartbreaking at times to.
Is eight years on and emma is still working at her chocolate shop and she getting new ideas for it and decides to open her little courtyard up as an area to sit outmoded and have coffee and cake in the summer and she also hosts a hen party and makes a real success of it. She loves her shop and made amazing friends and she's still going out with max as well. While she is working her landlord comes in and tells her that he won't be putting the rent up this year but she will now on be on a month to month contract and not a year and she wonders why and what he isn't playing it as he's taking photos as well. Next she sees a for sale sign going up and she so upset and knows she can't afford it so she's really hoping know one will want to buy it. While she is out with friends she sees someone which gets her upset as she was sure it was her boyfriend that passed away years ago but she learns it's his brother and he's staying in a camper van over the summer. Does max need to worry as he knows that emma has never got over her boyfriends dealth and his brother looks just like him. She invites him to have a shower at her place but max arrives home while he's there and he starts to get jealous does he have reason to he doesn't come home one weekend and emma goes to a party on the beech and she has drunk to much and ends up kissing her old boyfriends brother and she knows it's wrong and she can't tell max but will it come out. There's is a lady who always comes in the shop every day Mrs C and one day emma notices that she hasn't come in so goes over to the house at the end of the day to check she is ok and she's fallen down the stairs and broke not her hip. She visitis her is hospital and gets so friendly with her. Also there is a new shop that opens in the village and it's a sweet shop so emma is worried it will effect her but she works hard so it doesn't but she learns the owner is saying nasty things about her shop so goes round to speak to her. Can she raise the money for the shop so she owns it herself will max her boyfriend find out about her kiss and can he move forward or not and can they be happy every after.
Full of surprises and absolutely brilliant book from the first page. Highly recommend anyone to read it.

I've been hungry permanently for two days as I have been reading this book, the chocolates, oh the chocolates, I wish I could go to Warkton-by-the-Sea, walk into Emma's shop and just buy all the delectable sounding goodies.

In fact I made the mistake of reading the start of this just as I was going to bed, and then struggled to sleep as I was craving sugary treats and was really hungry!

It really is such a cosy seaside chocolate shop and the village is wonderful too. This is the sequel to the Christmas book and I was able to re-pick up on not only the story but the warmth of the writing, the location, and of course the chocolates really quickly.

This is a book that just gave filled me with a warm fuzzy feeling and its filled with drama as nothing goes smoothly at all.

The landlord of the chocolate shop is up to his normal obnoxious tricks, a blast from the past appears for Emma, and there is a new sweet shop in town too. The other people working in the shop Bev and Holly are both great and between them all come up with new initiatives for the shop and I do agree with them Prosecco and Chocolate sounds like a great combination.

There is so much packed into these pages, it is impossible not to be enthralled and entertained, and it was always with great reluctance that I had to take a break from reading to re-enter the real world from time to time, purely to get some work done!

I may be fixated on the chocolate but it all just sounds all good, and well it is the main location in the book. I thoroughly enjoyed all elements of the book though and really do recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable romance, or those of course with sweet tooth.

Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Impulse for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This is me after reading The Cosy Seaside Chocolate Shop :))
This was a pure delight to read. This and the first book in the series are my favorite chic-lit books ever. Reading this will put you in a happy place. The perfect beach and Summer holiday read. What could be better than reading about a fun yummy, scrummy chocolate shop,an adorable small, well behaved dog and a gentlemanly, handsome man. I loved reading about Emma's chocolate shop in the first book and this is the perfect continuation of that book. Same delightful town folks, gorgeous town by the sea, friendly willing to lend a hand neighbors and the best part the chocolate in the shop. Em has more flavors than ever and with hosting parties at her shop and an outdoor patio and courtyard to serve customers what could possibly go wrong? Sadly it does go wrong, from a misunderstanding with her boyfriend who thought he had a forever with her to the slimy landlord who wants to sell off the shop she can't afford to buy. Devastated is putting it mildly with how she feels. It's not just her whole life being disrupted since she lives above the chocolate shop and doesn't know how she'll find a new shop and home but to go through this uncertainty with a fresh breakup is pretty rough. I loved how her friends all rallied around her in her time of need. Is that it for her chocolate shop and her love life? I suggest you read this feel good book and find out.

The first thing I'm going to say about this delightful read, is that I feel as if I've put some pounds on in weight after reading all about the yummy sounding chocolates/fudges that Emma makes and stocks in her cosy chocolate shop, not to mention the milkshakes and ice cream too. It's even making me what to make some myself, hmmm good job there's some recipes at the back of the book.

So this is my second trip to the Cosy Seaside Chocolate Shop, and what a delightful time I've had too. Thoroughly enjoyed reacquainting myself with previous characters Bev, Holly, Adam, Alfie the dog, Mrs C and of course Emma's family, seeing what they've been getting up too.

As for Emma and Max, the two main characters, well I've absolutely loved reading about their continued story and seeing how things develop between them, the challenges they have to face and overcome.

I enjoyed my stay so much that I didn't want to leave.  But as they say all good things must come to an end at some point.

Also added bonus, there are some yummy sounding recipes involving chocolate at the end of the book.

I received this book form the publisher in exchange for an honest review

It's not a bad book, but it's not particulary good either.
The story overall is a classic little/cosy/corner seaside/cornish/devon shop/bookshop/cafe story, so you can't go wrong with that, but the execution is a bit lacking.
The chcracters are one dimensional, there is no chemistry between MC and her bf. The conflicts (with the Rock Shop LAdy and The LAndlord) seem a bit forced and the ending sounds bit far-fetched.

Also, if I got a £1 for every time someone in the book says "blimey" i'd be able to leave my day job and become a lady of leisure.

I realised when reading this book that in any book set in a seaside location the tide is rarely in. No matter the time of day the characters can often be found walking on the beach and this holds true here. There seem to be no early morning or evening high tides in Warkton and during the day it is always a blissful stretch of sand. I have no real idea why this occurred to me or why it irritated me so much - actually, it may have been to do with the fact that I didn't really engage with the book or get engrossed in the tale.

We have been at The Chocolate Shop By The Sea with Emma in a previous book and although it was a while ago I soon remembered the various characters and got into the swing of things. Unfortunately the plot is largely similar to the first one - problems with the landlord of the premises Emma operates out of. Actually let's pause there for a moment. That raises another question if the premises are rented how does she get away with making so many alterations to the fabric of the building? There is little of that this time around but the events in this book made me hark back to the first one. Anyway back to the plot similarities - the on/off relationship with Max is still on/off, we are reminded of the death of her fiance every other chapter, lots of chocolate making described in loving detail.

Apart from a couple of set pieces this really could have been the first book all over again and although it felt comforting to be back in Warkton-On-Sea I was disappointed in the book as a whole. You could flag up exactly what was going to happen to the business from the first time The Eel makes his appearance in the shop. Unfortunately, the same could be said for Emma's romantic attachments.

I never really engaged with this book at all, despite my familiarity with the setting. It is inoffensive and passes the time nicely so a good holiday read if you're going to be busy but other than that nothing really to recommend this sequel.

I was hoping for frothy and light. I was given dull repetitive twee twaddle. The part when girls in their 20s all shouted hip hip hooray at the end of a hens night?? Cmon!! Ridiculous.

I absolutely loved this novel! I read the first one, the Christmas novel, and enjoyed it but boy did I find this one soooo much better! I'm not sure what it was, maybe it was reading it and drooling over the ice-creams and milkshakes whilst it was nice and hot outside, or maybe it was just the characters and the juicy and drama filled storyline. Either way, I loved it! I'm not sure why, but when I first saw it on Netgalley, I didn't put two and two together and realise that the Christmas one was the one before this, but once I started reading it didn't matter anyway, you could read this as a standalone easily.

The cover is just absolutely beautiful. I love the bright, summery colours, the pretty flowers and the little boat bobbing on the sea with a lighthouse far in the distance. It just looks like a perfect summer read, and the storyline behind it is just as beautiful! It was stunningly written, I related to all of the characters and there wasn't one that I didn't like! I even liked Anne from The Rock Shop! I loved the idea of the Prosecco Parties, the Courtyard Cafe, the Monster Milkshakes, the Eton Mess truffles - everything just sounded so mouthwateringly delicious and will soon make you want to eat some chocolate!

One thing I was disappointed over, was what Emma did to Max, I really really felt for Max and was so upset for him! I don't like reading about stuff like that, because I certainly don't agree with it - but having said that, it was just a little portion in the story and wasn't written about for long - so it's still well worth 5 stars in my eyes! I absolutely adored this book, I adored the food, the chocolate, the setting and all the characters. I loved the village fete that took place along the habour, and all the tales about the other characters woven into Emma's. Overall, a beautiful story. Thank you to the publisher for a chance to read this novel via Netgalley, which I have reviewed honestly.

Thank you so much #netgalley for the chance to read this book before it eas released.Absolutely fantastic. I love this series of books I love the characters emma, bev, holly, max and of course Alfie the dog and lots of other characters from the village. poor Emma it never rains but it pours she has suffered a lot of heartache already and now due to "Neil the eel" the landlord as names by holly her whole world can come crushing down and she could lose her beloved chocolate shop by the sea. Then feeling emotional things happen that could destroy her world with max. I laughed, I cried I really enjoyed the chocolate journey I really really hope we get more books in this series. if you haven't read the tea shop in the castle book series by the same author I highly recommend. I really love stories from Caroline you really feel and like all the characters and there is a good mix of a story to make you laugh and cry in equal measure.

CHOCO-LICIOUS.

Was so good to be back with Emma and her trusty friends in this glorious seaside chocolate shop all I could smell was chocolate and the fresh sea air fabulous how true love never runs smoothly but Emma's passion for her chocolate making just made her stronger and more passionate about her job with great friends like bev and holly by her side and the wonderful Mrs c. BRILLIANT story from beginning to end well worth reading.

I did enjoy this book and was invested in the characters stories but if I read the words Emma and her chocolate shop in every other sentence any longer then I might have screamed .

I will definitely pick up the prequel to this and others by Caroline .

A gentle read to round out the series but it was ruined for me with Emma kissing another man. I wouldn't have been as forgiving as Max! I've still enjoyed reading about the chocolate shop and it's staff and quirky customers.

A warm and cosy tale - hadn’t realised that there was a previous book in the series, so a recap would have helped at the start.

A warm cast of characters with a beautiful setting and the complexity of love, loss and relationships.

A lovely read 4*

I was delighted to be given ‘The Cosy Seaside Chocolate Shop’ (by NetGalley) to review as I really felt like I needed some light-hearted escapism. The Cosy Seaside Chocolate Shop is full of charm and is a perfect relaxing read.
Set in the idyllic seaside town Warkton-by-the-sea, it is a perfect holiday read. Chocolate shop owner Emma is struggling to run her business single-handedly – while also trying to keep her long-distance relationship with Max afloat. Added complications from the landlord from hell and the surprise return of Nate make things truly difficult. Will Emma lose her beloved chocolate shop?
A novel about the importance of friendship, community spirit and working for a dream it is very uplifting. However it should come with a warning: all the descriptions of the chocolates, ice-creams, croissants and prosecco left me drooling! A really heart-warming read that would make you consider moving to a seaside village with your dog!

This is the second book in The Cosy Seaside Chocolate Shop. It was nice to spend some time with Emma and learn how things had worked out for her. Since it is the second book I won't say much for fear to spoil the first book.

It is set in a fictional village in the north of England. The author made a good job to create a sense of community which made me what to pack and move in the that village.

If you are looking for a cute and heartwarming novel to lose yourself in it I recommend first to read the first book The Cosy Christmas chocolate Shop and then read this one.

I didn’t realise this was the second book in the series but I really enjoyed it despite not reading the first book.

This book was set in a beautiful location with wonderful characters and the chocolate throughout had my mouth watering.

The chocolate shop by the sea is most people’s dreams. Emma is making a success of her dreams and has made her home and business a thriving success. She has overcome her previous heartache and has found love with her new boyfriend Max.

With the appearance of someone from her past and the chance of her losing her business , her perfect life is but on the line. Can she hold on to her hopes and dreams or will they come crashing down?? Can one mistake change her life forever?

This book is the perfect summer read. Light hearted and easy to read. Now I want to find Emma’s seaside chocolate shop and sit down to sample her mouthwatering chocolate treats .
