After their recent victory over an incredibly powerful alien foe, Captain John Duggan and his crew are expecting some downtime while the ESS Crimson is refitted. It is not to be. In a war for survival, the Space Corps’ best officer can’t be permitted to languish on base with his feet up. Soon after landing on planet Atlantis, Duggan gets the call once more. This time there’s to be no holding back – his superiors want him to take the fight to the enemy, rather than wait it out in Confederation Space. Given a promise that this mission will be his last, Duggan ventures into the unknown – he must fly through the Helius Blackstar and see what lies on the other side. What he finds there is worse than he could possibly have imagined and it will take every ounce of his ingenuity to return with the secrets he discovers. Terminus Gate is a high-action science fiction adventure and the fifth book in the Survival Wars series.
Anthony James spent his youth reading what might now be called classic sci-fi and fantasy books. These days, he spends time in his study with the door locked against rampant and ferocious toddlers, writing books of his own.
That's the third person stuff out of the way.
For anyone who's read any of my books, you'll know that I write action science fiction that pulls no punches and which doesn't cram the good stuff into the last couple of chapters. The action starts early and it doesn't let up. I also take care to mix in plenty of humanity. The characters I write are all distinctly believable, often facing uncaring enemies and overwhelming odds. When they win, it's because they did their best.
Go on. Punch an alien today. Better yet, check out my series of books, each one filled with action, technology, warfare, aliens and against-the-odds survival. Lots of kick-back-and-enjoy weekend or evening reading.
Don't read this book looking for plausibility. Do read it for the very fast, fun plot and interesting characters.
The Ghasts and humans have managed to bury the hatchet and now together are confronting the real enemy, the Dreamers. The Dreamers appear to live quite far away and get into our locale via a wormhole. So... If you want to take the war to the Dreamers, or at least scout their territory you know what that means.
While the storyline is not always truthfully constructed, it remains an enjoyable read. Story telling is as more about entertaining your audience than it is about relaying true situations. Mr. James does a good job providing interest, action and suspense and keeping the reader entertained.
This installment brings some story thread closures and several new directions. Tensions grow, the known characters are better developed and new possibilities are created. Ends with a closure and new opening.
A good read with plenty of action.what I don't get is why they started fighting at the beginning of the wormhole instead of going into it as far as possible to see what was there . they didn't get caught until they did that , just seems backwards to me .it was a good book anyway and now they are stuck on a planet with an enemy base and a close to dead ship.
Book 5 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The plot has developed well, if not predictable. The characters are still interesting enough. The enemy is still a big unknown and this book in the series fills in some questions but not all.
So exciting... reading about travel through wormholes, venturing into unknown systems and possibly more unknown aliens... just a fantastic read from beginning to end! I’m going to read the next book in this series right now! Thank you!
You wanted an action book and you got one. The ending is not a happy one but it leads to the next book. Well that's,expected. Good job by the, author bad job by me.
Another great book! One thing different in this one, leaves you in a cliffhanger, something the other books didn't do (and I'm not a fan of cliffhangers). Still a high recommendation!
