Little Mermaid. Three spirited warriors. A realm in peril.

Nyssa's not your typical princess. She rebellious, and sneaks down to the Shark Bait bar with her friends, to get away from the pressures of palace life. Each time a hot Sharkrider chats her up, she develops a serious case of fin in the mouth disease, and embarrasses herself. All that changes when her father announces she's to marry the cruel and scheming commander of his army. She'd rather digest in the belly of a whale than marry that slug.

When Nyssa digs a little deeper, she uncovers that the commander is using a spell to control her father. In wedding her, the commander plans to kill the king, and rule the underwater realm. With the help of three mersoldiers who pledged their allegiance to her, Nyssa must save her father and the kingdom. Now she must navigate new emotional currents while keeping her head above, or below, water...even if that means drowning in the soldier's love.

Mermaids, loyalty, passion and vengeance collide in this spellbinding romance that finds its 'Happily Ever After.'

Note: Each book in the Haven Realm series is a standalone book.

A beautiful mermaid princess will go from secret rendezvous in “dive” bars to a woman on a mission to save her underwater kingdom when evil rears its ugly head and makes plans to make her his bride. Sounds pretty ominous, I know, but Mila Young’s tale is anything but dark as she takes us into the deep blue sea in CLAIMED.

Grab your snorkels, prepare for a quirky, sexy dive into what really goes on beyond those swim markers, past the riptides and below the waves just begging to be surfed. Words will be ‘played on,” a pact with an evil water witch will be made and Nyssa will discover that three handsome mersoldiers are better than one, (if you know what I mean!)

In spite of Nyssa’s dire circumstances, the fate of her father’s kingdom, and a near impossible quest, CLAIMED is a fun read with lots of fins, seemingly insurmountable odds, smelly pirates and hot mersoldiers who are warm for Nyssa’s form and loyal to her cause.

Quirky, with almost too many fishy quips and nicknames, I still had a great time in Mila Young’s world with a Little Mermaid like you never imagined! Let go of reality, take the plunge, feel the heat, join the adventure!

I received a complimentary copy from Mila Young!

This book was a wildly ridiculous but fun retelling of the Little Mermaid with an added RH element. The heroine Nyssa is flighty and spoiled but she values her family and kingdom above all. When an enemy conspires with the Evil Sea Witch to overtake her kingdom, control the King and take Nyssa as his bride, she must go on an adventure to save the day. ALong the way of course she meets old friends, has her ass kicked a few times and oh yeah builds her own harem of three mer-men. The story was cheesy but fun and personally I found most (not all) of the authors parallels to life in the sea versus on land enjoyable. With King Triton as a father, Nyssa will soon realize that saving a Kingdom won’t be the hardest battle ahead of her rather convincing her father that not one but all three of her men-of which only one is a nobel-are worthy of her. I enjoyed the story it was fun, outrageous, original and interesting.

This was a cute little read. A nice take on the little mermaid with adult themes. I liked Gill the best and I couldn't help but to picture a clown fish each time I read the name Nemo lol. The story line was okay. I feel the fight with the witch could have been better it seemed to be over quickly. I will like to see the other stories in this series.

Best Remake Ever

I think this is my favorite Mila Young book so far. I may be biased though since I am huge Little Mermaid fan but the spin on this was just amazing. Poor Nyssa finds herself the only one that can see the evil happening around her and she has the spine to fight over and over again. It's great to see her save the guys for change though they definitely Italy return the favor later. Character development is smooth worked into the incredible world building along with lots of action. Best RH fairy tale remake ever! I loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.

I soo could not finish this...

This princess came off as a scatterbrained ninny to me....
The heroine, when we wet her is off in a dive bar drinking w/two friends ( who run and hide at the first sign of trouble ) ( just what you need in a good friend or cousin, right ?) getting drunk w/them and strangers of ,let’s say “ questionable morals” and accepting attention from some D bag “Sharkrider” who calls her “sugar fins” which I kept thinking was really sugar its ( missing a t at the front) and she’s eating it up because even though he seems kinda skivvy she supposedly never gets attention like this .. cue my eye roll...
But even though she doesn’t really like him,she doesn’t like her sister dragging her away...
While my opinion of her was dropping by the page, princess, mermaid sweet to servants but soo needy for attention she’ll take from except for the very worst..
She has to run from evil guy bend on forcing her to marry him, only to be caught and given to pirates and then taken off to be sold to yet another evil guy...
Oooook, I’m hanging in, but when she and the three mermen she’s been caged with are rescued, along with shifters and Fae and other paranormals by a band of mysterious assassins and she acts affronted when Blade ( whom she thinks is a rather odd name, while mermen named Finn,Gill and Nemo ( seriously.? Finn and Gill and Nemo as mermen?) if flirting her one minute and the next he makes it sound like he’s off on a date w/a woman... like how dare he flirt with me and go off after someone else ...
really ? He jus helped save your life and you’ve already got 3 men wanting you... ooooook...
Sorry, it might get better, but the princess felt like a quote I saw once, “I’m not shallow, i’m selectively deep.”..
I’ve read two of Ms.Youngs other books “Hunted”and “Cursed” , (I have “Charmed “ thru Instafreebie or something and I haven’t read it yet) and while they weren’t great I soldiered on and read them thru hoping each time things would get better... for me the pay off wasn’t really worth it...
It’s weird I feel like a good amount of work goes into these stories but they still end up feeling light and shallow and selective or not I couldn’t find the depth....
I hoped after “Hunted” the stories would get better but they haven’t for me and I just couldn’t finish...
For me the h was too immature and not fully there or functioning ...
Just grateful this was KU

Okay read

I give this 3 stars due to it having a plot that had tons of potential and a mediocre execution of it. The author has this knack for winding an interesting story with action, adventure and romance. The beginning of the story was pretty good and made me want to continue reading, but as I went along, it seemed as if the author was rushing to make pieces fit without filling holes. For starters, this back and forth with "oh I don't know what pull they have over me" is pretty repetitive. The author leans on this way too much to explain the quick coupling with multiple love interests. The dynamic between Nyssa and Gill really was weak. It could have had so much more depth but I think the author was trying to rush to their romantic connection. All of this was pretty forgivable because of the subject matter, but what really stuck out were the spelling errors, inconsistencies (at one point she mentions having 4 mermen when the story only has 3), and obvious dropping of the ball in the end (they went through a major plot point to retrieve the pearl...and by then end you have no idea what the hell happened to it because it seems the author forgot she left it in her corset). All in all... meh.

Nyssa doesn't want the responsibility of her royal heritage. Yet when her father is put under a spell and announces she must marry the vicious commander of his army, she has to find a way to save not only her father but the kingdom. Running from her future husband, Nyssa gains the help of three gorgeous mersoldiers. Even as she starts to fall for each of them, she must keep her focus or they could all lose their lives.

Another wonderful book in Young's Haven Realm series. This time we have a retelling of the Little Mermaid. Nyssa is a kind and strong princess, but has no interest in ruling. Also, when she tries to flirt with hot guys, she inevitably embarrasses herself in some horrible way. She's thrown into a nightmare situation, and I liked seeing how she handled each new challenge as it came up. The three mermen that accompany her are hunks! The romance amps up naturally and the climax is thrilling.

Not my favorite in the series

I’ve read several of the books within this series and realm but I didn’t like this one as much. It had a lot of promise but I think the execution missed the mark in my opinion. I love the idea of a mermaid RH and this one is loosely based on the Disney’s version of the Little Mermaid, just like all the other books in this series.

The flow of the story seemed disorganized and abrupt. Things just didn’t transition very easily from one scene to the next. A few context errors that could easily be fixed with another round of edits such as saying the Nyssa has 4 men instead of 3 and Nyssa recalling things that never happened or wasn’t said by a character. It was hard for me to connect with the characters and I frequently found myself losing interest.

I love this series, but this book just didn’t do it for me. Give the series and this book a try if you enjoy RH, retellings of fair tales with unique twists, and mermaids.

This is a great addition to this series of fairytale retelling books by Mila Young! Mila’s books are getting better and better with each addition and this book does not disappoint. The story captivated my attention from the very beginning and there is a great level of character development. Nyssa is a great MC, she is independent, cheeky and shy. She knows what she wants but her foot always seems to be in her mouth and it is very funny to read what comes out with her nerves around cute guys! And what a great combination for mermen for her....Fin the serious protector, Nemo the funny and protective one and Gill the rebel! They all bring something different to the story and make it interesting and entertaining. This book is full of action and drama that draws the reader in and hold the attention until the very end. Highly recommended!!

Not your mother's mermaid tale

Whoa!

I can say with complete honest that I am SHOOK! This book has been sitting on my digital shelf for I don't know how long, and once I picked it up it was impossible to put down. Nyssa and her mermen just *swoon*.
I'm not really one for fairytale retellings, as a Grimm fanatic, but Claimed just took my breath away. The way that Mila constructed and defined this whole other world, the layers she gave it, the intensity she built - all phenomenal.
The book could do with a good edit, but it didn't detract from the quality of the story one bit.
I'm also a dunce who didn't know there were Haven Realm novels prior to Claimed, and I still kept up with story perfectly well.

Now to go back and read the others. Heh.

Fairy tails for the win!

This was great, I love the little mermaid, what can make it better? Well three sexy mermen that's what! Gill is a dream boat! Sorry, all three of them are but I locked Gill so now he's mine! I loved how evil the seawitch was and the evil alliance. I also love that Our merprincess is besties with Snow White?!?! I can't for that book 😉 once again Mila Young did a fantastic job retelling this childhood classic and making it into a sexy TH for us ladies, the merkingdom was excellently described and the details out into this world never stop amazing me. I look forward to next installment in this series.

OH MY GOD FINALLY!

I would accuse Young of listening to me if this book had not already been out. Finally, finally, FINALLY there is a male that is going "hold up, I have to share?! what if I don't want too?"

I get it, sometimes, a girl gets lucky enough to have everyone be in agreement, but sometimes, that not everyone gets that lucky. That is what I really wanted to see. I wanted to see how to work around that problem. Granted, given the pace of the story, the problem didn't last long, but I did like how it lingered around in the background until the end. And no one from the other books before it was tied in.

I have to admit though, the underwater language was interesting.

Overall liked this book. Though I did find it really predictable and boring in some places. Nyssa was super flighty and annoying but, regardless, I adored how much she loved her Kingdom and her people. She really fought hard for her people and that is something I can totally get behind. I'm really glad that she wasn't fooled by Faraall. He gave me the creeps just like he did to Nyssa. I was shocked at the way the turn took but it made sense that he got a spell to put triton under. And mermen that Nyssa met were just so drool worthy and I loved them all. The spicy scenes were well done as well. Enjoying the haven novels so far

I love The Little Mermaid, and I love this new take on the tail--errr, I mean tale...

I loved Nyssa and how kind and relatable she was. She has no desire whatsoever to be a ruler, and she's also kind of shy. But at the same time, she's got a sassy/cheeky streak to her. OH! And she has no idea how to talk to attractive men (Same!)

I liked getting to see how her character grew throughout the book, and I also loved the dynamic between her and her mermen.

This story had a lot of world building, and I loved the fact that there were a number of twists that I did not see coming!

One of the most creative and innovative stories I have read in a long while.

The characters were appropriately adorable or villainous, and the adventures were non-stop. It ended happily for those the main characters. I loved the individual focus on each character. The only thing I was left wondering about was the fate of the traitorous army members who followed the villain. The continuation of Snow and Nysssa’s fox to IG hit the kings on land would be a great follow-up. Great job!

This is the fourth book in the Haven Realm series and let me tell you these books keep getting better and better. This version of the little mermaid is definitely not for children. Filled with humor, action, suspense, romance and adventure, the main character Nyssa is constantly putting her foot in her mouth. As always this book kept me on the edge and I can not wait for the next one. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Love this retelling of The Little Mermaid, reverse harem style. Nyssa is a princess who wants to be free and live her life how she wants too. When Farall tries to overtake the kingdom and King Triton, Nyssa will do anything to help her dad and their kingdom. Meeting Fin, Nemo and Gill was exactly what Nyssa needed and together they are smokin hot. Another amazing book that I didn’t want to put down.

This realm rocks

Love these retellings. The Haven Realm continues to grow and develop with each book and its fun to look back and see where each story fits into the others.
This little princess thinks she needs to save her kingdom all on her own but learns it’s a bigger world out of the water than she first thought. Great story and plot moves smoothly. Like that we get to see past characters and new ones throughout the story.

Good twist on the Little Mermaid. Like the connections between the lead and her 3 guys. It made the steamy scenes that much better. I also like how it ties in the problems affecting the whole realm of Haven not just where these characters are from.

I hated the excessive violence of this book compared to the other books in the series.

Author still needs to go back and have someone proofread this one. Not as many glaring mistakes as the others.

Brilliant read.
Nyssa has just had the world fall at her feet, she has been offered the position of a lifetime to be her fathers heir, but it comes with the worst price tag. one she can never imagine paying. But something is not right, her father is not well. Nyssa must do all she can to save her father and her realm from this disaster that is plaguing them. The sea witch and her cruel deals.
Brilliant read.

Mila Young has done it again. It this book of the haven series we find ourselves under the sea, the plot twists and the well built world had me lost in the book. I has I bit of a book hangover when it was finished. I love how the Haven series intertwines the characters.you never know who is going to show up in her fairy tale retellings.

The Mermaids dilemma.

I loved this story. It was diversified & the characters very interesting. This was excellent because of its social structure and it's romantic interest. Three perspective partners made for some spicy moments that was quite appealing. The Heroine of the story demonstrated great ingenuity & bravery. I would highly recommend to readers.😇

Another book I absolutely loved!!! This story was Little Mermaid with a twist. Loved that Ariel was in book even though it was her Aunt. This book had everything. Evil witch, bad guys, good guys, and of course mermaids and mermen. Can't wait to read next book in series. Book could be read as a stand alone but other characters are introduced and waiting for their story to be told. Great read!!!

I liked the setting and a couple of the main characters but the story did go at a rather slow pace and I lost interest fairly quickly.

The characters get too familiar far too quickly and the use of the phrase "sea god" was tedious, seriously it seemed like it was on every page.

An ok installment to this series.

This was my least favorite so far. I loved the first and third book the best. The phrase my Sea pearl was not welcoming and I didn’t care for it at all. Also it was just a little too much for me. It was okay but not as good as I had hoped it would be.

I never thought little mermaid could get any better but I was proven wrong by this retelling. Arranged marriages, magic, twists and turns all keeping you glued to this story and at the edge of your seat. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. I recommend this to everyone
