Good overview but the authors personal opinions and politics did sometimes overshadow everything. I prefer to make my own mind up.
I am still looking forward to the 2nd volume however.

// an essential and in many ways mesmerizing performance — one of the best books I’ve read in long time. in synthetically tracing the profound influence of weber, the author presents a timely and challenging portrait of both 20th century german thought and our own era.
