For me, this book was decent. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. The concept was interesting and the little twist was nice as well, but the two main characters made it hard for me to enjoy the book. There were points where they were likable and enjoyable and then there were just points where they weren’t.

Off the bat, I couldn’t stand either one of them. I think, possibly, that was the author’s intention. If it wasn’t, then I just didn’t mesh well with the characters. They just weren’t likable at first, either one of them. As the story went on, they both had their moments of being enjoyable. They only lasted for short periods of time before they went back to being unlikable. Then it would just repeat in a cycle, over and over again.

It was very well written; I did enjoy that about it. The descriptions were nice, not repetitive. Things flowed together nicely. It wasn’t choppy and it didn’t have that start and go feel to it, which is a very off-putting thing for me.

This book just wasn’t for me. I know there are going to be a lot of people out there that would love a book like this, and I encourage those who are interested in the synopsis to give it a go! It just wasn’t for me, but its very clear that the author put a lot of love and effort into this book!

3 stars because it’s more explicit than I like. The story is intriguing and opens space for asking questions about how our fears steal our joy in relationships. Maybe there are times when we all wish we could shed the layers of assumptions we have wrapped ourselves in and be the person we really want to be. It’s ok to start again and keep trying. And it’s ok if happily ever after doesn’t come with the first try.

Although I haven’t read “No Tomorrows” - Book 1 in the series “When the Music's in You” - this particular novel still appealed to me because of the fascinating description and I am very glad I chose “Finding Julie” because it was so enjoyable to read. Also, I think it was a great choice because it had an unusual story-line.

Following a minor accident, warm and funny Julie Stuart awakens to find she has lost her memory. However, she is told that she is psychosomatic because she has only forgotten her husband and her marriage.

James Stuart fell hard for Julie, but the second they married, she became a cold shell of a woman, more than willing to warm his bed but in the daytime wanting nothing to do with him. After three years, he's had enough and files for divorce.

When James receives a phone call advising that Julie has been hurt in an accident, the divorce is put on hold as he goes to her side. To his shock, the delightful girl he'd once courted greets him, the cold woman he married nowhere in sight. Only he doesn't trust her.

So James comes up with a plan ... pretend to be someone else and see what happens. When Julie's memory returns and the truth comes out, will all be forgiven, or will both walk away?

I really liked Doris Rangel’s writing style and her portrayal of the characters was wonderful. I could really empathise with the characters and feel their emotions and I found myself rooting for them in the hope that they would overcome their difficulties. The story was very refreshing for me personally, as I haven’t read too many novels about amnesia. Julie's back-story was very emotive and well-explained.

Overall, a delightful romance, full of misgivings, but with a fulfilling conclusion.

I will definitely be reading Book 1 in this series and I would recommend “Finding Julie” to anyone who likes this genre.

I chose this as I fancied a bit of romance and an easy read. Sadly it didn't really do it for me. Not really sure why. The characters just seemed a bit flat somehow.

Can love ever be forgotten?

Following a minor accident, Julie Stuart awakens to find she has lost her memory. Psychosomatic, the doctors tell her because all she has forgotten is her marriage and the husband who went with it.

James Stuart fell hard for a warm and funny Julie, but the second he slid his ring on her finger she became the proverbial ice princess, a cold shell of a woman more than willing to warm his bed but in the daytime wanting nothing to do with him.

👍Good, solid plot, main and secondary characters that are sympathetic and easy to root for, and mild heat with intimacy that never gets explicit. The amnesia trope was handled well and heroine Julie's backstory was well-told and very moving. The use of a flashback to open the book and the scene's repetition later from another character's point of view was an interesting technique. Overall, an enjoyable, angstful romance with an amusing twist at the end and blue skies on the horizon.😊🌄💕

An interesting plot

What happens when a couple seemingly so mismatched, at the verge of ending a marriage that has nothing left for them, find themselves back together under a unique circumstance?

James has loved his wife always but cannot live with her anymore as he doesnt recognize the woman he married. Julie has a block amnesia after an accident and remembers everything about everyone.. Just not her marriage or her husband or her life with him.

The book deals with a lot of general emotions and topics. There is always a time to take a step back in any relationship and see what has changed. This one proves that to a large extent. A good read.

Divorce Or A HEA

I totally enjoyed this book. It was a unique storyline with the selective amnesia that Julie suffers not remembering her marriage or her husband James, and a second chance for both of them.
I chuckled with the humor from the scenes at Fiesta Week and several back at the ranch which rounded out the story. It was sad that fear and miscommunication caused Julie and James to the brink of divorce and years of lost time together.
Loved the ending that they were on the same page and of course the HEA.
I received a copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Interesting from beginning to end. Julie gets in an accident and loses her memory. James (mac) her husband pretends to be someone else. She ends up out at his ranch as a cook. But getting her memory back is not as easy as cooking and when it does come back they both are in for a surprise. This was an interesting storyline. Good book enjoyable.

In Finding Julie (When The Music's In You) by Doris Rangel is an interesting tale about a married couple beginning the process of divorce (instituted by the husband) when the wife is involved in an accident causing her to lose her memory of the last 4 years of her life. Not knowing her husband, Julie goes home with Mac, who is really her husband James to relax and try and let the memories come back on their own (as suggested by her doctor). So the husband is seeing a side of his wife that he has never really seen before and the wife is falling in love with her friend who she doesn't realize is her husband. The story reads very well and moves along nicely as the author shows the reader the two sides of the couple and what has motivated their lives to start off much differently than the HEA that follows.
I enjoyed reading this book which I received a copy of in exchange for an honest review.

This is a romantic romp from the magic fiesta city of San Antonio to the gorgeous Davis Mts. just above the Big Bend of Texas. Author does a marvelous description. Can amnesia ever be a good thing, or a building block of love? You'll enjoy the crusty grandfather and colorful ranch hands as you find out.
