Chelsea Wiley, author of Mystical Motherhood, learned how desperately this publication is needed through her years of experience and education. She is deeply connected to bringing conscious children into this world and has worked as a labor and delivery nurse at the top medical center University of California San Francisco and studied with Ina May Gaskin, the most famous midwife in the world. She is also a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP) and a Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher.

At the hospital and in the primary care clinic, she found that families were unprepared for birth and parenting, lacked knowledge to maintain health, and yearned for a deeper understanding of how to integrate spiritual practices into daily life. She has combined her passion for Eastern and Western medicine to create a guidebook to awakening, which families can consistently refer to in order to meet their most basic health needs and create their greatest achievements.

Chelsea envisions raising the consciousness of families across the globe and changing the frequency of the women who bring children into this world so that the next generation can live as peaceful, vibrant, and healthy individuals. She wrote this book for mothers, as she is a mother herself and knows that this population will change the world as we know it. No other writer has utilized Maslow’s hierarchy as a step-by-step guide, and results will be revolutionary.

This book was helpful. It was thought-provoking and I will be a better mother (God willing!) for having read it. It has helped me think about how to relate to children in a respectful way.

It relies heavily on a few resources, and Chelsea's thoughts are really great to hear when she weaves them in. I almost didn't finish the book because certain topics were addressed so one-dimensionally, and her approach is at times different from mine, but I'm glad I stuck it out.

‘Meeting your physiological needs before conception’

California author Chelsea Wiley gained insights for her book from her time as a labor and delivery nurse at University of California San Francisco Medical Center and from her dedication to studies with leading midwife Ina May Gaskin. Chelsea is a board-certified family nurse practitioner as well as a Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher. Her concerns are garnered from both Eastern and Western medicine as well as her passion for raising the consciousness of families across the globe and changing the frequency of the women who bring children into this world so that the next generation can live as peaceful, vibrant, and healthy individuals.

As she boldly states in her opening comments, ‘This is an experiment. It is a revolution. We are creating a new model of the family unit by demonstrating a different path to raise conscious children and awaken the true potential within individuals. It is time to stop repeating the same patterns that have been passed down one generation after another and raise children who are reality centered, focused, spontaneous, respectful, humorous, ethical, open-minded, creative, and deeply connected. This book is a call to action and was written specifically for mothers. If the frequency of women changes, as they are the ones who birth new life into this world, so will the entire human race. We are on the verge of an awakening, and you are the change makers. It takes grace and grit to challenge status quo. There is a deep sense of insecurity and pressure in the world, and people are desperately looking for something that will help to relieve their feelings of unease. Mothers, in particular, are suffering from isolation and depression at higher rates than ever before and are in need of guidance. The transition into parenthood is a unique time when adults are open to change and ready to improve for the sake of their children. I am providing parents with the opportunity to invest in the growth and development of their children by teaching them to model healthy behavior so that their family can find happiness. This book provides a roadmap to awakening and healthy living.’

Chelsea addresses physiological needs to maintain a healthy body and mind, knowledge of safety beginning in the womb, love and longing needs, nurturing esteem, and self-actualization/self-fulfillment in realizing our true potential.

This book is for both mothers and fathers – family centered for building a better world form the time of planning a conception, birthing and nurturing the entire family unit. It is one very strong book that will benefit all readers.

I loved this book. I received an ecopy to review for free fro netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I am no newbie to pregnancy and motherhood (I have three small kiddos) but I still found valuable new perspectives and insights in this book. I absolutely LOVED that the author included all sorts of birth stories and experiences and tried very hard not to be biased or judge anyone based on their birthing/parenting choices. Really, a lovely book.
