Butler Cove #3

L'estate degli amori imprevisti. All That Jazz

Rate this book

This story was amazing! It was a very powerful and emotional read. It was exceptionally well written and it sucked me in from the beginning.

Falling for best friend’s brother? Jazz and her friend Keri Ann have known each other for years, they are like sisters. They have been through so much together, they tell each other everything. What Jazz didn’t expect was to fall in love with her best friend’s brother, Joey! Joey was more of a sweet ass and I liked his connection with Jazz. Life was simple and sweet and then came the summer when everything changed!

After having sex with him, three years ago, Joey disappeared on Jazz without any explanation and the disappointment was tough to swallow, no doubt. This crushed Jazz’s hopes and hurt her feelings. Unfortunately, Joey was not ready to invest his heart and go off to college in a committed relationship.

I left because when I was with you, I saw my future
barreling down the road toward me, and I wasn’t ready.

Three years later, they are ready to give love a second chance. Is there enough energy left in the relationship to give them the fuel they need to repair and recommit? And can they resolve traumas in the past?

His jaw is tight, and I can see the moment when he sees the fall out.
He inhales, like it’s the hardest breath he’s ever drawn.
Like my hand is not on his cheek but buried deep in his chest, digging his heart out.
“There’s no hope for us, is there?” he asks.
“I don’t know,” I answer.

I loved how Jazz and Joey's story developed, how we got to see their special connection unfold and help each other heal. I wasn't particularly fond of the many long dialogues, but I can't deny that they made the story stronger. All That Jazz is a heartachingly beautiful book about the power of love, the true meaning of friendship, and the choices we all make. Personally, I want a book to make me feel things and this one certainly did that. It made me tear up a few times but I really liked it.

I'm excited each time I find a new author. And Natasha Boyd is a new one for me, I have heard great things about her stories but never read one! But when I saw All That Jazz, I knew that this book was for me!

I loved how this story developed. The characters are funny, sweet and hot! I loved Jazz from the beginning, she is an amazing heroine! She is the reason why I loved this book! Joey on the other hand confused me a lot! There are moments I really liked him because seriously he is so hot and other times that he annoyed me. But overall they were great together.

This story is emotional, sweet, funny and hot! Now I must read Eversea.

I loved this book! I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I fell totally in love.

This is my first five star read of 2016. That means that a quarter of the year has nearly gone by and I had yet to read a book that I absolutely loved. But more than that, I went back to check when my last five star was, just so you could get a clear picture. I was thinking it was November, maybe October? Y’ALL. It was September 13, 2015. Do you understand what I’m saying to you right now? I went 6 months, half a year, a damn near lifetime, without reading a five star book. Without reading a book that I fell head over heels for. It’s a miracle I’m still reading! I knew I’d lost some of my book mojo, but there had been enough 4.5s in there to tide me over, I guess.

I’m a huge Natasha Boyd fan. I fell in love with the Eversea series and it’s still, to this day, one that I think back on fondly. I gaze lovingly at them on my bookshelf frequently. Except for the fact that my mother-in-law took the first book (signed! *gasp!*) hostage and I’ve yet to get it back. Don’t fret, I’ve threatened her life so we should be alright. Anyway, you get what I’m saying. That series holds a special place in my heart. I was admittedly a little afraid that All That Jazz wouldn’t live up to my expectations or hopes, but let me assure you, those fears were pointless and unfounded.

For one, it’s been so long since I’ve read Eversea that it was a lot of fun to get to experience pieces of it again in this book. But also, it didn’t ever feel like it was in “competition” with the series that it spun off from, but more like it was just another piece of a story that I already loved. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a continuation and it can absolutely be read as a standalone (though why you’d ever dream of skipping Eversea, I’ll never know), but it just sort of felt like coming home. The places and the people all felt familiar and comforting, while also standing on its own as a very solid and separate story.

Let me also just say that I’m not a crier. Every once in a while a book will hit me in the feels, even fewer and further between will I tear up. Rarely do I ever have tears stream down my face. This book made me cry not once, but twice! And very nearly a third time. It’s not an especially heavy book but Natasha does a great job of pulling you into the story and I felt all of Jazz’s feelings so strongly. I also did a lot of laughing and smiling and getting angry, not to mention the soul-deep swooning.

The story is told in a present-past-present pattern that really gives you an understanding of Jazz, who she is, why she is the way she is, and all that she’s been through. Not to mention the dynamic between her and Joey; it really made you understand the true level of angst that existed between the two of them.

The characters are all very well developed, the dialogue authentic, and the story progression organic. Nothing ever felt forced and I felt completely immersed from the beginning. I experienced everything right alongside Jazz and really ached with her.

You absolutely cannot pass up this book. If you haven’t read the Eversea books yet, I will first refrain from smacking you and then seriously urge you to read them. If, for some reason, you’re inclined to skip over them and read this one first, it’s not advised, but it can be done. And if you’ve read Eversea, you have no excuses! for not reading All That Jazz. Seriously.

This is the first book that I’ve read this year that I really and truly loved through and through. I haven’t felt this way about a book in a long time and it was long overdue. Natasha Boyd is a true artist and this masterpiece is a must-read.

Now that I’ve written my longest review ever, I’m off to find a book that probably won’t live up to this one. Sorry, whichever book you are.

I'd say it was a little less than "just ok" for me. I won't go all out with my review, because I'm worried that I won't be able to fill out all my normal fields. I struggled to keep my attention on this one tbh.

Just to point out my biggest issues:

So, all in all -- I didn't love it, I didn't hate it either...just meh.

Wow! This was super angsty and heart breaking at times but it's one of the best second-chance romances I have ever read. This book goes from the the present, to the past and then back to the present and tells the story of Jazz and her best friends brother, Joey. The chemistry between Jazz and Joey was fantastic. Joey made me a little angry at times but I absolutely loved Jazz. She was a fantastic heroine - strong, smart and independent. I loved that she wasn't a pushover. The writing was fantastic and I couldn't put this book down. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by this author!

We all remember Jazz & Joey from the #Eversea books!
Jazz has been Keri Ann's best friend since they were little kids and also since about back then she's been on and off crushing on Keri Ann's brother Joey. But mostly he was getting on her nerves!
Other than an unfortunate (slightly alcoholic) encounter when Jazz turned 18, there never was anything between them. Even though back then, she might've, kinda, or rather, she did fall in love with him...still is.
But he doesn't want her - he's made that abundantly clear back then.

"This was a mistake.
I don't want or need a girlfriend right now. I have work, college, plans, and decisions."

But now he's back home, to check on his sister, who is in the middle of either reuniting with Jack Eversea, or of saying good-bye to him forever....

But before we can find out how their story will end, we go back in time to the summer when Jazz turned 18 and see what and how things happened with Jazz & Joey.

It was the end of high school, and the beginning of the rest of our lives.
Then it was summer.
I lost a lot of things that summer.
That summer changed me forever.

There will be lots of sadness and grief and whatnot to be overcome, before Joey & Jazz can even think of having their HEA!!!!

What will happen to Jazz & Joey?
Will there be a HEA????

I'm not spoiling anything!!! ☺

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!

I'm such a huge fan of the #Eversea books, and I'm soooo happy that Natasha has this new Butler Cove story for us now!

It was just adorable!
Poor Jazz, loving and hating Joey Butler with all her heart ever since she was 11 years old.
And Joey...we don't really know what's going on in his mind or heart.
He's all about his studying and wanting to be a good doctor....
We just want them to grow up and be together forever...but it'll take them a while to get there....

There are so many adorable and funny and sexy and sad and frustrating moments in this story.
I cried a lot!!

description

Especially those moments three years ago, and all those things that happened in Jazz's life....That poor girl!

I loved every word of this story!!!!

ALL THAT JAZZ was such a beautiful & adorable Romance. Fun, sexy & heartbreaking - just perfect!! ♥

I'm angry because I'm almost to the ending but I cannot deal with this book anymore. I'm sorry but I'd rather read a 10 page worth of shopping list than to finish this book. It's just so so boring.

It has the longest flashback chapters ever, and it doesn't help that the Hero, Joey, is a grade A douchebag. I cannot find a single like-able thing about him at all. After he royally fucked up, he expected to resume their barely there romance? After 3 years. Lmao. I'm not at all impressed.

Young and stupid? More like cowardly and stupid.

The Eversea books have been firm favourites of mine and I was very excited to be returning to Butler Cove. I do get a little nervous about side characters becoming the main show but Jessica 'Jazz' was so damn real and likeable because of her relatability, I needn't have worried. I found myself uninterested in Keri-Ann and Jack Eversea because I just wanted to devour the story of Jazz and Joey.

The timeline of this unfolding story is a real strength, told from just before Jazz's 18th birthday and moving from there onwards, I enjoyed the journey and character growth. I felt the poignancy of the tragedy so hard, equally the heat packed a punch. Natasha Boyd is so good at writing the feels, the emotions are intense and tangible. There was definitely more heat in this Butler Cove book than previous ones and I loved that element. It was also packed full of witty dialogue.

"I don't know what happened just then," he said. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean us to end up arguing." "You opened your hambone mouth, that's what happened."

I found Joey infuriating at times, I wanted to knock him around the head so that he'd see what was before him but his character grew and my favour developed with him.

I remain a huge fan of Natasha Boyd, she has never disappointed me yet. I am impressed that even though this was a continuation of a series, it didn't feel overly familiar or predictable. Her writing is true, grounded in real life but brings that escapism you want from a really good read.

I loved this story even though I found tiring the fact that 2/3 of the book was about the past, specifically about the summer Jazz turned 18 and she and Keri Ann finished high school. As young people Jazz and Joey made a lot of mistakes, part because of their previous experiences with their parents, and part out of fear of their feelings.
I liked the way their story ended, that they both took time to short out their feelings and be sure about their choices but it was difficult to feel any angst at all because I already knew the premise of their story from the other two novels (she being BFF with Keri Ann and he her brother).

Author Natasha Boyd delivers a slow burning, friends-to-lovers second-chance romance that is both sweet and sexy, lighthearted and emotional. I loved returning to the South Carolina Lowcountry, to sun and sand, to a place abound with history and beauty. Long ago I fell in love with Keri Ann and Jack Eversea and it was then we met Jazz (Keri Ann’s best friend) and Joey (Keri Ann’s older brother).

We quickly realize Jazz has been in love with Joey for some time, but she’s also been hurt by him in a way that years later, the wound still stings. So time ticks back and we see what happened over the course of one memorable summer.

It was the end of high school, and the beginning of the rest of our lives.
Then it was summer.
I lost a lot of things that summer.
That summer changed me forever.

What began as a crush quickly escalated to a defining first love. And as with first love, Jazz’s heart inadvertently surged with hope that she’d somehow found something beautiful with her best friend’s brother. And as much as Joey seemed to feel the same level of attraction, when it came down to it, Joey would break Jazz’s heart.

Friends was apparently all he ever thought we were. Even when I was eighteen and naked under his body.

That summer delivered blows difficult to heal, memories forever scarred by heart break and disappointment. Three years later, despite emotions simmering under the surface, she was determined to move on, move away and seize new career-defining opportunities.

I’ve spent years feigning indifference to you.

As Keri Ann and Jack’s relationship still evolved, Jazz and Joey were there for Keri Ann should Jack break her heart. And as they are thrown together time and again, the lines once again blur as truths are revealed.

You’re like a hurricane, Jazzy Bear. You would have changed everything. If you’d asked, I’d have given up my plans and dreams.

This time, it’s Jazz’s choice to walk away, or walk into the arms of the boy she’s loved for so long. And on the brink of seizing the dreams she’s worked for, the decision proves harder than ever.

All That Jazz was a great, quickly-read romance that delivered the right kind of feels between characters I’ve come to love. It’s sweet, funny, sexy with some a delicious slow-burn tension. If you loved the Eversea novels (and who doesn’t?!), you’ll love Jazz and Joey’s love story.

That’s the strangest thing about love; there doesn’t seem to ever be a beginning or an end.
It just is.

"That's the strangest thing about love; there doesn't seem to ever be a beginning or an end.
It just is.

What happens when the boy you gave your heart too three years ago, is suddenly back in your life? Do you turn off your feelings and forget every memory you've made with him or jist move on and try to be the bigger person?. This is what life is like for Jessica a.k.a "Jazz". Coming face to face with the man who broke her heart the summer she turned eighteen was a battle for her sanity. It also doesn't help that he's her best friend's brother and she's enlisted his help checking on her friend.

Determine to not let Joey get the best of her,Jazz decides to ignore him at all costs. But that's easier said than done and she soon learns that Joey is not a man you can ignore or walk away from. I loved the fact that we got a back story on Jazz and Joey. We got to see how they went from barely tolerating each other, to friendly flirting and ultimately what made them fall apart all those years before. Joey wasn't an easy character to love at first but his Southern charm definately wore me down and I wanted to know more about him.

"One day you're going to catch a direct hit from a woman and realize you'd change your whole life for her. I just hope you don't run when it happens".

These characters were funny, charming, and made me wish I had a best friend like Jazz. My only complaint is that I hated the back and forth between.I felt like in certain situations,if Jazz or Joey had just stayed and talked instead of walking away, a lot of things would've been better for them. Their distance and miscommunication became their greatest downfall that could've easily been avoided. If you're a fan of this author and her previous books in this series, then you don't want to miss Jazz's story.

First, just to be clear – I loved both Eversea and Forever Jack. Not sure I thought Jack could be topped. But now I'm not so sure. Dr. Joey can certainly hold his own. I was so excited to finally see that Natasha Boyd was taking us back to Butler Cove for Jazz and Joey’s story, along with glimpses of both Jack Eversea and Keri Ann, too. You’ll remember that Keri Ann is Joey’s sister and Jazz's best friend. Call me delighted and thrilled – maybe wishing for a little bit more of a carved-in-stone definitive ending – but still yet satisfied as I finished reading.

Boyd returns with what readers expect from her writing style that brings the whole scenario to life – the vivid landscapes, the places, the people and the charm of the south. She puts readers right in the middle of life in Butler Cove. Wit and sass and realism adorn her dialogues. The reflections of the past give us the lay-out of what younger Jazz and Joey have gone through before reaching the here and now where plenty of angst and tears await. Their relationship suffers some hurdles and rough waters, but the journey is one romance lovers will appreciate. Nothing is instantaneous or rushed. Everything is plotted purposefully. The secondary characters play their parts well with genuine small town support.

A fabulous read told reflecting from present to past and back again, Natasha Boyd gives us Jazz and Joey’s love story in non-rushed, strained and sometimes bittersweet moments. Both Joey and Jazz are characters I felt were far more complex and unexpected than I ever imagined them to be. I was totally engulfed in their story from start to finish.

Experiencing a Natasha Boyd novel is so much more than reading about another place or group of people. It's exploring an entirely new locale, meeting new people as real as those you see in every day life. It's being a part of an exquisitely drawn and three dimensional world. It's tasting new foods, smelling new smells, feeling new feelings and loving new people and places.

It was hard to finish this book because I didn't want the experience to be over. I honestly felt like I was in the low country of South Carolina--a place I've never been before in reality but feels real to me nonetheless. And I felt like Jazz and Joey were my close friends, spending time on the beach with them at shrimp boils. I watched them fall in love and then break each others' hearts only to find that precious love again years later. I was rooting for them to make it the entire time.

The language is fresh, vivid and evokes true fictional life. When I'm immersed, I'm rarely aware of the outside world because the novel world is so provocative.

I loved seeing glimpses of Jack and Keri Ann, too. And the endearing back up crew of Butler Cove. I'll treasure the time spent immersed in Boyd's world and only regret the amount of time I have to wait until the next visit.

It's been such a long time since I read Eversea, but I was able to get back into the story. This story takes place during that story, for the most part, and a lot of it is set in the past..but it worked. I'm not usually a huge fan of starting a story, then jumping back and forth in a time line, but here it was the meat of the story. I was touched by this story, it was funny as well as emotional, even needing a few Kleenex, all in all I'd say it was time well spent.

Title: All That Jazz
Author: Natasha Boyd
Standalone or Series: Standalone
Characters: 4
Plot: 3
HEA: Yes

I was very excited to read this. We meet Jazz and Joey. Jazz has been in love with her best friend's brother since...forever. But it is obvious that he is not interested. Especially after Joey slept with her, took her virginity and left her without a word.

Is there anything worse in this world than being desperately in love with someone who is simple...indifferent to you?

When fate brings them face to face again, Jazz will realize that even after all this time, Joey still has power over her. Power that can destroy her.

I'm cold in the wake of his heat. Icy, and trembling.
Desperately trying to find a semblance of mental armor before he sees how he almost laid me bare.

I enjoyed the book but I had some trouble with the lenghty dialogue. It was a long book, but plotwise I found it a bit lacking. It was emotional at times, but the characters frustrated me! Their chemistry, however, was explosive! I just wanted something more to push the story to the sky.
The writing was good and if there was more showing and less telling, I'd have loved this!
I recommend it if you want something romantic and entertaining though.

All that Jazz was really wonderful! I could hardly stop reading the story because it and the characters had me hooked so hard. Reading Jazz and Joey's story, finally, was amazing and I loved it!

People who have read Eversea will know Jazz, Keri Ann's best friend, already from that book (and its sequel). I've always loved Jazz. She's really a riot and made me laugh a lot in this book. So I'm very happy to have read her and Joey's story. We also find out what happened between them three years ago, which was probably my favorite part to read.

As I'm used to now with a book by Natasha Boyd, this one also packed quite the emotional punch. There were quite a few sad and tearjerking moments but that's what makes this book all the more real for me.

And Joey! Oh my gosh! I don't want to say I love him more now than Jack Eversea but eh, he comes very close to it. I absolutely loved him and Jazz together, even though it took them a while to get there.

It was also very nice to see some appearances of Keri Ann and Jack, of course. Even in the scenes that took place before Jack had entered Keri Ann's life.

Overall, All that Jazz by Natasha Boyd was such a great read. I laughed, cried and barely put my Kindle down. It's one of those books that give me all the right emotions and feels!

Joey and Jazz. Jazz and Joey. They have been dancing around each other for years, afraid of their feelings for each other getting in the way of their end goals. Joey wants to be a doctor and has worked hard to get his undergrad in 3 years and is now onto med school. Jazz (Jessica) has finally graduated from high school and is on the cusp of her 18th birthday. She is off to college in the fall to pursue a degree in hotel management and a minor in photography, in an homage to her absentee father. Her 18th birthday begins in a happy whirlwind but ends in utter devastation when she finds out the truth about her father and is betrayed by Joey all in one awful night.
Passing between present day and the past (the majority of this is set in the past, 3 years prior) this is the story of how Joey and Jazz became friends, friends who kiss and onto friends that abandon each other. At times I thought Joey was a cold dick, but was always reminded that he was doing his best to stay focused on the end of school so that his sister, Keri Ann, could have her shot at going after her dreams. Joey had the world on his shoulders with the guilt of leaving Keri Ann and Jazz while trying to preserve their legacy in 200 year old Butler house. Jazz covers her insecurities from her father's abandonment by being the brazen beauty who is steadfast in her support of best friend Keri Ann. I loved them both and loved reading their journey.

4/5 STARS!!

To say that I will read anything that Natasha Boyd writes is an understatement. Her EverseaSeries is one of my most treasured series ever (HELLO! Have you seen those stunning covers?) and the story of Keri Ann and Jack Eversea, the classic Hollywood-superstar-meets-smalltown-girl, is a MUST-READ. With that being said, you do NOT need that have read the Eversea series before diving into Jazz and Joey’s story!

Jazz is on the brink of adulthood. waiting to start her life after graduating from high school in Butler Cove. Natasha’s gorgeous sense of place permeates the story here just like in the Eversea books, with the Lowcountry of South Carolina playing a prominent part of the story. Joey is her best friend’s older brother, the gorgeous, cocky, unattainable crush that Jazz has had her whole life.

While Jazz was the funny, comic relief in the other books, here we see a much more sensitive side to her. All of the characters here are richly drawn, just like I would expect from Natasha Boyd. And can we talk about the kisses? Hands-down THE sweetest, hottest, SEXIEST kissing scenes EVER. They perfectly capture the heat and passion of young love, the longing, and the heart-pounding romance. Bravo, Ms. Boyd!

“You set a standard by which all future kisses will be measured.”

All That Jazz is about summer romance, unrequited love and all of the angst that goes along with growing up. Joey and Jazz have amazing banter together and when he asks for a HUGE favor from her (to be his “pretend” girlfriend), we can definitely see what direction that will go in. The constant back-and-forth between Jazz and Joey was priceless. Jazz didn’t always make the right choices but she is struggling to find her place in the world and I absolutely adored the conclusion that the author gave to these amazing characters. Nothing was rushed, nothing felt forced, it all felt perfect and true to these characters.

This book is like a breath of fresh air and Natasha Boyd remains one of my favorite writers today. And now I must immediately purchase this gorgeous paperback to add to my beautiful collection of Butler Cover books!

Before I start my review I want to say how much I absolutely loved the Eversea books. They have consistently remained at the top of my favorites list, Eversea being there since November 2013! So, saying I've been waiting for what feels like forever, is damned warranted. But the wait? *so* worth it. All That Jazz brings us back to Butler Cove as we finally get Jazz and Joey's story.

My first impression of this book is: WOW! that was fun! Jazz is suuuuper sassy yet completely lovable. I was thoroughly entertained by her and the banter she held with Joey; their verbal sparring was a delight. And, hoo boy, the angst and sexual tension between the two of them is nearly tangible. The heat in this book is dialed up a little bit more than the Eversea books, and I can't say I'm complaining!

Told in Jazz's POV the reader really gets to know Jazz. Natasha alternates between the past and present, and upon closer examination, All That Jazz reveals that it's much more than just a cheeky, beach read. I'd almost argue that this is more Jazz's story than Jazz and Joey's story. Yes the romance between them is present but her character growth is impressive as she experiences love, heartbreak, loss, confusion, happiness, disappointment through situations and within relationships that are relatable and honest. This was my favorite part and I was happy to see the young woman Jazz became.

I do have one small, minuscule complaint...MORE JOEY! I loved their scenes together and the way he carefully hid his feelings for Jazz when they were younger and the way he eventually abandons those strategies. I would absolutely love to read more about him, even a short told in his POV. While I don't think it's *completely* necessary as Natasha does a wonderful job creating his characters and detailing his motives and behaviors, I'm just greedy. And I want more.

I really enjoyed being back in Butler Cove, and would absolutely recommend All That Jazz as a must read for all Eversea and Natasha Boyd fans.

I adored the Eversea Characters and was super excited to hear that Jazz would be getting her own book. Jazz is a bright, spirited, lovable character. She was the comic relief in Eversea, but in All That Jazz, she really shines bright! I would hope so, it is her book after all ;)

Jazz (Jessica) and Joey have this banter going on that is charged. Its electric. It's freaking hot!!!

"You set a standard by which all future kisses will be measured."

We get to see Jazz and Joey as -for lack of better words- kids. She is about to turn 18 and her whole world is about to turn on its head. It's gonna be rough seas and it's gonna break your heart and you're gonna love it!

"Then it was summer. I lost a lot of things that summer. That summer changed me forever."

There is so much more behind Jazz's smiles and quick wit. There is a girl trying to find her way, her calling, her passion and still love and be loved in return. I loved Jazz and Joey. I miss them already.

It can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading Eversea and Forever Jack first for the full experience. All That Jazz runs parallel to Forever Jack.

It's another home run for Natasha!

Natasha Boyd is a magician. I swear it's true. Every single book she writes, I'm immediately pulled into the world, forgetting all else, living and breathing alongside these characters. Her writing is effortless yet so full of emotion and heart-fluttering moments that I never want it to end. ALL THAT JAZZ is her best one yet! Love, love, stinking LOVE!!!

At 27, I'd say I'm too old for this kind of story. It started ok until the flashback and the heroine gets whiny about losing her V-card and it was just about that! I stopped reading at 37% because by that time I already want to slap the heroine. From there, I just browsed through the book til the ending. Nothing really surprised me. So nah, not for me.

This is a NA Book, it followed the life and mainly emotional journey of a 17 year old girl, having a crush on her best friend's handsome brother. The said brother was rude, callous and acting selfishly towards the heroine.

The heroine, who was a insecure teenager going through grief, gave into the hero, over and over, despite knowing 'it has disaster written all over it.' Given my intolerance towards weak heroine constantly giving in to @sshole heros, this story strangely didn't irritate me the way I though it would.

I think the character growth and maturity journey made a lot of difference to me. Seeing them growing up, making and owning their mistakes, trying to do better, make better decisions despite the circumstances, I think it is admirable and a true display of strength.

Towards the end, the hero had to accomplish some grand gestures in order to win the heroine back, and it was nicely done. I didn't cringe or eye-roll, not even once. I thought it was sweet and even brought tears to my eyes. Originally, I hovered between 3 to 4 stars, and that tear in my eyes is what clinch the 4 stars deal for me. The truth is, I am a cold-hearted grumpy old grouch, it takes a lot for me to cry. I didn't even cry when ET went home!!! (well, I did, but that was years ago, and way beyond the legal statute of limitation) Therefore, for the tear, the book gets 4 stars and bravo to the author for writing such a sweet and beautiful NA story that truly impressed a jaded grumpy reader.

The flashback chapters took the better half of the book. Atleast 70%. It literally ruined the story instead of solidifying it. I mean if the 70% is a back story, do you really expect a satisfying grovel in the last 30% of the book? Specifically, when the book is full of the heroine suffering from the known "body-betraying-syndrome". Hate it. Never liked it never will.

But still, for the parts which made me laugh, the beginning which i enjoyed, the banter which i found hilarious, this book deserves 3 stars no more no less.

What can I say about his author? Oh that's right I bow down to anything that she says. Or writes!!

I fell madly and deeply in love with the Eversea series, so deep I wanted more of Jack. I would read him everyday for the rest of my life. Then I found out she was making another book in the series.
Well let's just say this is how i felt!

I did the countdown, I did the messages, I did the waiting, I did the pacing. I did what I needed to do and then finally one day like a ray of sunshine it showed up on my kindle!!

I was ready. I mean it's not like these characters were a surprise to us. They had little pieces in the last two books. Just enough pieces that she kept you waiting and wanting more. She's good like that.

Here was my journey back one of my favourite places ever!

There's something totally inconvenient about falling for your best friend's brother. Especially when he's turned into a pompous, arrogant, albeit annoyingly sexy a-hole that you'd like to punch or kiss to death at any given moment.

So these two played the sexiest freaking tango I have every had the pleasure of reading. I think that is the best way to describe it!

Jazz is his younger sisters best friend. Almost like it's a forbidden thing. I mean he's the protector of his sister, so he should be protecting Jazz as well? Right? Sound like a piece of cake?

She's not just driving him crazy and doesn't even know it, but now he's in a jam.

His profile was familiar, the same as it had always been and yet so different. His cheekbones seemed a little harsher, his jaw a little rougher, the crinkle at his eyes a little more serious. A little more beautiful. He looked back at me suddenly, and I widened my eyes in challenge as I waited for him to confess.
"I need a favor."

It's starting, the little butterflies in my belly. The tingle in my heart, the sweaty palms. It was happening I was looking at a love story growing. So quiet, yet so strong.

That little favour blurred some lines. It made the kisses linger longer, the touches gives you good bumps.

Had I seriously developed a crush on my best friend's older brother? I'd known him since I was eleven. I'd had crushed on him through the years. Silly crushes. Childhood type hero worship. And I'd seen him at his worst.
When he was gross.
When he was smelly.
When he was annoying.
And while still annoying, now he was all grown up. And stunningly hot. And I was older, and...
Oh holy sh*t buckets.

It was at this point I giggled legit like a little kid that just got candy.

But then one night, when she turned eighteen those lines got even more blurred. The lines in the sand washed over because she accidentally lost her heart to Joey Butler. It was bound to happen. It was alway meant to be. But just when she lost her heart to him, he turned around and shattered it without even knowing and for three years. THREE YEARS..1,095 DAYS. They pretended that it never happened!

The sad truth was I had fallen in love with him. Completely. He was right about me falling in love with the first boy I slept with. I only wished I hadn't lied about it. For three years my heart never fully recovered.

They can't seem to get away from each other. They can't seem to fight the pull that they have. And all bets are off when Joey finally admits to her that he's always wanted her. It was always her. It will always be her. ALL BETS ARE OFF!!!

This book is just what I needed. It was a love story that was grew slowly, that fought, that survived, that grabbed hold of my heart and never let go. I will never ever get tired of this series, of these character, my heart is theirs!

AND AND AND IF YOU MUST KNOW JACK EVERSEA MAKES AN APPEARANCE IN THIS BOOK!!!

"É questa la cosa più strana dell'amore: non sembra ci sia mai un inizio né una fine. Esiste e basta"
