I enjoyed this book's setting in ancient Rome, although the characters seemed rather on the modern side at times. The main character, Julia, is reluctant to marry Sisenna. This creates drama, but it gets rather tedious at times. Also, the romance part only comes at the very end of the story. Perhaps I would have liked this book better if I had been a younger reader.
I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway. Yay!
