In forty-eight hours you're going to commit murder, and there's nothing that you can do to prevent it. Troubled city worker Kelly Lawson is on a collision course with homicide and she doesn’t even know it. Publicly humiliated after a divorce from an abusive partner, Kelly finds herself in her ex-husband’s orbit once again as he runs for public office. But there is something that her former spouse is hiding, an unsolved disappearance that will come back to haunt him and everyone who knows him. Our demons are our own worst enemy, and right now they’re about to tear Kelly’s world apart and completely end someone’s life. The question isn’t who did it, but who’s going to do it and who’s going to survive? In a world where nobody is telling the truth, doing so is tantamount to heresy. They say there’s no such thing as the “perfect murder”. They won’t be saying it for much longer… Praise for Dean "The fossilized remains of a 7,000-year-old creature dug from the sands of the Negev Desert in Israel become the bones of contention in Dean Crawford's fast-paced debut thriller... The book neatly threads together a wild variety of plotlines." - Wall Street Journal “… cleverly introduced premise… assured pacing and plotting…” - Publishers Weekly “The action is frenetic, in the vein of Matthew Reilly’s Scarecrow series. Crawford is an able storyteller who smoothly orchestrates the plot’s twists and turns… ” – Kirkus Reviews “… brilliant high-concept, high-octane thriller….” - The Guardian "A fast-paced and entertaining yarn." - Melbourne Age "Partly mythical read, part thriller this pacy tale is a page turner guaranteed to keep you up late." - The Sun "Get the cameras rolling—Indiana Jones meets Alien. What a combination of mystery, suspense, and unspeakable horror. I loved it!" - R.L. Stine “This is an amazingly good, intelligently told novel by an exciting new British author.” - Eurocrime "Earth-shattering intrigue, hyperdrive action and a desperate race to save humanity, cranked up to the max with scarily realistic science and apocalyptic religion thrown in for good measure . . . a major new talent has hit the mystery thriller scene!" - Scott Mariani ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dean Crawford began writing after his dream of becoming a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force was curtailed when he failed their stringent sight tests. His Ethan Warner series of high-concept novels have regularly featured on the Sunday Times paperback bestseller list and have sold all over the world. A full-time author, he lives with his partner and daughter in Surrey.

Surprisingly good!

I say 'Surprisingly ' only because, yet again, as with my previous review on Dean's first 'Power Reads' story (Altitude) this is yet another genre l don't generally read being crime 'Whodunit ' type of tale.
A twisting story involving power, money, sex, murder etc, etc, it has me hooked pretty much from the get go and I finished it in two sittings.

Yet again I surprised myself at how much I enjoyed this story and I feel is testament to Dean's skill as a writer to capture people's imagination and craft a story that is almost believable in nature.
An excellent read and one I recommend.

Enthralljng

A missing person, a violet husband, someone who has lost everything, someone who has everything to lose and a swirling mix of hurt, betrayal and a quest for power - and that's just how it gets going. A very enjoyable and enthralling read
