Bachar considered his word the ultimate authority—until a curvy woman shows up on his mountain demanding that he find her brother. A brother that has no business being in shifter territory. The alpha lion doesn't have time for this. His second-in-command is AWOL, his chief of security is acting strange and a group of humans is stirring up trouble. Nope, an opinionated, obstinate woman is the last thing this alpha shifter needs—until his lion catches her scent. How long will it take this alpha male to realize she’s not only just what he and his animal need, she’s what they crave.
Bachar is the usual typical alpha who fights against his lion and myself at finding his mate at a most inconvenient time; while Sally has come into his territory (uninvited) to rescue her young brother. Each has their own goals but Fate steps in. Now to wait for Tarek and Keair to have their stories told. There was a sprinkling of grammatical errors that earned 4 stars from me instead of 5.
This shifter romance story is just a dressed up version of plain ordinary girl meets millionaire who falls for her. The guy turns into a lion and guess what, he's the alpha male of the pride. In this book, the shifters are out to the world but keep living separately in a town where outsiders come to treat them as a tourist attraction. I'm really not keen on the hero; he gives her the hospitality of his suite but he's no gentleman, and his stilted conversation includes "Do not frown so." Once more, the lady is made to give up all she has had going on in her life if she wants to live with him. Expect strong language, mature romance, violence in said romance, and a heroine so unbelievably stupid as to run into the middle of a gunfight when all Americans know that Americans seem to carry machine guns and bazookas around if they want guns. Nobody but nobody would do that.
I downloaded an e-copy. This is an unbiased review.
This is a new author to me. Loving The Lion by Marie Mason is book one in Mountain Shifters series. Sally is traveling fast & hard after her runaway wolf shifter sixteen year old brother. She's raised him for the last ten years & wants to make sure he's okay. He is soon deep in Bachar's, the lion shifter, territory. Bachar's knows on first meeting Sally is his fated mate. After some trials they do get their HEA.
Sally was the more developed of the two characters, but we never get to meet her brother, the reason she's there. Buchar, we know virtually nothing about except that he's a lion and the rich alpha. Everything happens way too unbelievably fast so you aren't much invested in their story. And because the secondary characters aren't that interesting- even though I have the next two books- I don't have any desire to read them. Sorry.
Very interesting learning about the American Lion in this story and their history. Great book but wish it was longer going a little farther in their life. The story included two lonely people who did not think they would find true love, but ended up finding their true mates!
This is the first book in this series. I have had this one in my TBR folder for a long time and I wish I had read it before now. This is a well written shifter story with great characters. I would encourage everyone to go get this one it is worth your time. I really think you will enjoy this one I know I did.
Loved the storyline and the characters and would love to see the other characters in this book get a mate in other books by this author . So its a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
This is the 1st book I read by Marie Mason. I enjoyed this book's storyline. I really liked the hot & steamy scenes. I really liked Sally's character. I really liked Bachar's character. I really liked the ending.
And a cool epilogue type ending. I liked that they kiiiinda got to know each other. I live the preview of the other crew and look forward to other couples good start to the series
Good story. wasn't a fan of the pov swaps. Some of them I wasn't sure who was talking at all as it would be her one paragraph and the next one it would be him without any clear indication of the change. I am curious to see what happens next.
Title: Loving the Lion Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Marie Mason Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #PRN #WolfShifters #LionShifter #4Stars☆☆☆☆ ••••••••••••••••••••••••• Wow this story is sizzling red hot, oh my goodness I love how this author writes about this shifter. Geeezzzzzz Louise he doesn't have to do anything one word and a look. This is why I say this author is amazingly talented. Sally Abigail Wilder is a seventh grade school teacher in Maine, who has been responsible for Nick her sixteen year old brother. When her mother died she was sixteen and hiding the fact they were alone, she took on the responsibly. But at sixteen Nick had a painful change into a wolf, neither one knew anything about it. So she winged it only for Nick to run away to find others like him. He had a lot to learn, than so did Sally. Bachar is a Alpha Lion Shifter, he has his Pride but he has also let other shifters in because they didn't have a pack. It didn't take long for him to realize FATE had plans for him directing him to one hotel then the original hotel. Try as he might he couldn't avoid what fate had for his life. He was worried what if he has endangers her, there are humans called "The Group" who had been terrorizing the tourists. Would he be able to survive the test of time or would his Lion let loose? A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
I've enjoyed Marie Mason's stories before but this one just didn't do it for me. Alpha doesn't need to synonymous with Ass but it definitely is here, from creeping on his intended when she's in the bath (it's not a mutual let's get naked situation at this point) to slamming a doctor up against a wall when she has just finished attending to his mate: Bachar is not a winner. His arrogance is not appealing to this reader. I prefer shifter alphas who know how to be in control without being wilfully bullish in every situation. He may be good to look at but this guy just isn't that nice! Our heroine Sally is inconsistent, ranging from wishy-washy to secret martial arts expert. It's not really clear who she is but there are token moments of her standing up to Bachar to make her slightly less a wet lettuce. In truth, I just could not get behind them as a couple at all and I love fated mates stories. The story could also have benefitted from being proof-read thoroughly, with little errors and typos throughout.
A sweet story about a lion shifter alpha male and a human woman. Trust me this story will set your sheets on fire.
Sally is on a mission to find her little brother. Who just a couple months ago found out he is a wolf shifter and he left to find a pack to call his home. But determined to find him and make sure he find is going to be an adventure. What she didn't expect while there was to captivate the local alpha male lion shifter. Unknown to her she is his mate and he will do anythimg to keep her safe.
Bachar is not enthused about finding his mate in a remote mountain lodge hotel, let alone the storm that is coming soon. And the trouble he has been having lately with a group of humans bent on trying to shove him out of his territory. Which will not work. How will he resist temptation in front of him, find her brother and protect his pride from the group of humans?
Strangely as I usually like this authors books and love big cat shifters, this one did not do it for me. Whilst I loved the plot, I just didn’t like the execution of this story. Not sure why but Bachar rubbed me up the wrong way for most of the book and I didn’t bond with Sally at all. I understood her worry over her brother but she did a TSTL act. When told it is not safe for her to go off on her own what does she do, goes off, not knowing the area she is in, was kidnapped and then shot. DUH. Hope to read both Tarek and Keair’s stories. Badly in need of proof reading. This is my honest review of this book.
