I don’t understand the low ratings this book got. It was great in my opinion. As someone who deals/dealt with a high amount of perfectionism (I’m talking restarting whole assignments because an ink mark was made on a page or staying late to make sure my work was error free), this book made me introspect more when I seem to be spending a lot of time on a task and recognize that it’s ok to go for “good enough” when the task doesn’t warrant scrutiny.
For example, it helped me set boundaries with work where I was starting to bring it home with me. I instead gave myself a deadline at work to finish whatever I was doing regardless of how it looked and left and leave that stuff there.
I was also a pretty nervous kid growing up so it was nice to have reassurance that I’m not being judged by everyone for every single thing I do. At least not by people who I care about like my family and friends.
