I actually read this book in 2011 but I re-read it in 2013 because I just loved it, and besides I could add it to my 2013 reading challenge :)

I can't exactly remember in what date I read all these books so I just marked them as I read them in 2013 and in January. Same with the February ones.

Ok I'll admit it. I'm 22 years old and I love this book. It is hilarious. The characters are not only memorable but insanely likeable as well. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a lighthearted romance.

Really enjoyed this, dissapointed to find the author doesn't have much other books as I enjoyed her writing here. The 2 main characters were likeable enough and their bickering all through the book was enjoyable, she was so easy to tease and tease her he did, it was cute. I also really liked the whole Merrill family, I miss those days of the 80s and 90s where wholesome normal families were actually shown in books and TV unlike today, also really liked all the wacky teachers, I would have enjoyed having teachers like them in school.
Another thing I liked, was Melanie's thoughts and outlook on everything really, "Where did she find those clothes anyway? Did she have some tiny old man laboring away in the Alps for the sake of her wardrobe?" lol just an example I enjoyed. The chemistry between the leads were good, and the story was cute, overal just a fun enjoyable read, although I was hoping for more in the ending as in I always like an actual declaration of love in the end but that sort of got lost in the end scene but despite this I really liked it. I actually felt like crying when finshing this as I always do after reading all the wholesome 80s and 90s teen books, crying for the loss of the 20th century and the loss of romance with it. So just crying that the world in these book no longer exists even though it was such a short time ago. Sorry lol this is a feel good book and I don't want to turn it depressing but that's just how I feel finishing these books.

2.5 stars. It was quick read, but I did like how it was a enemies-turned-into-lovers story. So, Melanie is the principal’s daughter, and she likes to follow the rules. Then enters a new student named Shane, and he’s ALWAYS up to no good. So when the prankster endlessly teases the good girl, it might not end up good. Although Melanie is a good girl, she still fights back and she doesn’t back down. The story is cute in that sense, but up until the end, I was still confused about Shane and as to why Melanie dismissed what he did throughout the stories. The things Shane did were funny, but also a bit unrealistic, and although he was ‘sleepy’, I think he should’ve still stood up for Melanie. Anyway, this is a super short read, I think it passes in that department. Definitely a book for preteens or just about anyone who likes short ya stories!

Mom's need not worry at all! Amazing for tweens & teens, no sex, no talk of sex. Not even sexual innuendos, (Despite the cover and title) just kissing! First kiss/first love, romantic, creative, clever, funny! I would highly recommend these "love stories" books written by different authors. They're what I started out on, as an adolescent in the 90s, daydreaming about my future first love, 😻 and I sometimes still pull them out and read them as an adult! And, most all of the main characters, a girl looking for love, have a best friend/gal pal like most of us do/did to rely on, and to chat with! My mom loved these for me, as did I!

This is a classic opposites attract teenage love story and it had many funny parts to it. Melanie is the principal's daughter (goodie two shoes) and Shane is the new bad boy in town who stirs up a little bit of trouble and pulls pranks.

Things are so innocent and sweet here in the love stories series! I loved the series so much back when I was a teenager and it was even outdated back then and till now the series seems good to me!

Aha, bad boy high school stories! I could never say no to these books before. It had typical high school angst all over it but at the same time a light read.
