A colorful counting book combines information about nature with tips on preserving the environment, presenting such ideas as planting trees, carpooling, watching out for polluters, and enjoying the special gifts of the earth.
3 Pandas Planting is an extreamely colorful book that can cover different domains of learning. Not only is it a great book for helping with counting but it can be read when discussing recycling or helping the Earth. It can also be included to discuss animals around from around the world. There is so much this book can be used for. I can't wait to use it in a classroom.
LE I would read this book while teaching about recycling. I would have the children bring in newpaper and use the scrap paper in the classroom to make recycled paper with them.
The book “3 Pandas Planting” is a great resource when doing a unit on recycling or saving the environment. It shows different animals taking part in different things in order to save the earth. The book doesn’t really have a structured story, but it does incorporate important skills like counting backwards and beginning sounds. For example, “ten otters organize” or “twelve crocodiles are carpooling” both show the same beginning sounds.
A very easy book for beginning counters! I love the environmentally friendly activities all the animals do in the book. This is just a simple book to work on student's number sense and could be implemented in a pre-k class, or with an older student struggling with numbers.
I would include this book in a literature math and science lesson. The counting backwards could help young children develop number sense and the author taps ionto environmental science by discussing ways to help Earth; carpooling, recycling, conservation of water, and planting trees.
