Nocturne Falls Universe

The Princess Protects Her Huntsman

Rate this book
Princess Rhyannon Andal fled her fairy home with nothing more than a powerful secret and a warning to never return. She doesn’t know the fate of her family, her people, or even the nature of the evil that hunts her. Only that the magical town of Nocturne Falls is her haven and her hiding place.

Arrick Luvell was nothing more than a simple, if preternaturally skilled, huntsman until a sorceress ripped his life apart and cursed him to become her beast. He has lived under her leash for decades, forced to do her bidding, until the hunt leads him to a pure and beautiful woman he’d rather die than harm.

But he doesn’t control his beast; the wolf is the sorceress’s to command.

The hunt brought them together. Will the magic of love free them both?

Born and raised a Jersey girl with easy access to NYC, I was never short on ideas for stories. I started writing when I was 11, and my passion for creating worlds exploded from that point on. Romance writing came later, since kissing gave you cooties at 11, but when it did, I embraced it. Since then, all of my heroes and heroines find their happily ever after, even if it takes a good fight, or ten, to get there.

I currently live in Central Florida with my husband, our four children, and two parakeets. I work part-time as a PCU nurse when I’m not writing or traveling between sports and other activities.

Naughtiness 3 *

Absolutely utterly fantastic, I knew I'd love it having read some of Kira's other books before now, but did not realise how much I'd love it, this is my new favourite by Kira to date.

I won't give spoilers ever but I will say, good vs evil, adventure, Nocturne Falls, Magic Romance old and new friends, it has everything. I was that draw in to the book I was crying for our hero and heroine, absolutely brilliant book any who love romance fantasy supernatural will adore this book.

Thank you so much for writing it Kira and the honour of reading it ♥

This is a great book; this book is part of the Nocturne Falls Universe and is written by Kira Nyte. The Nocturne Falls series is written by Kristen Painter and I was so happy that these new books by new authors were asked to write a story in the town. Nocturne Falls is a town that celebrates Halloween every day of the year and also a place that paranormal’s can live and not have to hide what they really are. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author.

Princess Rhy is a real life Fairy Princess and she’s been forced to abandon her home land due to evil. Arrick is under the control of an evil witch. The witch turned him into a shifter and has been controlling him ever since. Now he’s been forced to hunt down the missing princess. But when their first meeting ends up tempting the man and the princess what are they to do?

I really enjoyed this book. It sort of reminded me a bit of a mix between Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood. The character fit perfectly into the Nocturne Fall Universe.

The Princess Protects Her Huntsman by Kira Nyte

A novella from the Nocturne Falls Kindle world. A town that celebrates Halloween every day so it’s paranormal residents may live openly.

The hero: A gentleman. He is gallant, mannerly and quick of tongue. He is also tortured and under a curse.
The heroine: a power force. She has a strong belief in who she is. A role model and a true princess.
A fairy tale love story.

This story drew me in immediately with the effective writing and strong and vulnerable characters. Lots of detail and depth.
While most of the story takes place in Nocturne Falls, they are really just visitors. But that’s the fun part because we love that town.

Excerpt:
“She sipped her drink—something herbal by the smell—her gaze dropping from his for a short moment before returning. She scorched a path down his chest with that drop. “It’s nice to see you again.”
“I should be the one saying that.” He motioned toward her. “I don’t want to interrupt you, but I wanted to say hello. And make sure you haven’t suffered any repercussions from my carelessness the other day.”
Rhyannon laughed, a soft, airy sound that made him dizzy with desire. The chair across the table slid out as she nudged it with her foot. “You’re certainly not interrupting me. Would you like to join me?”
Arrick’s smile grew while the cursed voice in the back of his head warned him to take his leave before he made a decision he’d regret.
“You’re not expecting anyone?” He moved to the chair and placed his coffee and muffin bag on the table. “I’d hate to impose.”
Rhyannon lifted her cup and shrugged. “I have a date with my tea before I head to work in a half hour. It would be nice to have company.”
“I’d be honored to sit with you.”
The endearing rose that lit up her cheeks was as bewitching as her smile. And the calm in her green eyes. And her graciousness.
I’m so in trouble.”

This book was an unexpected surprise. Since it was the fourth one in the Nocturne Falls Universe following A Dragon Speaks Her Name, A Dragon Gambles For His Girl, and A Dragon’s Christmas Mayhem from Merry & Bright: A Christmas Anthology (Nocturne Falls Universe) following dragons and their keepers, I was expecting another dragon/keeper story. The previous stories were good, so I expected a good story not a great one, and I was very surprised to find a great story about faeries and shifters that completely swallowed me. I enjoyed immensely and it is probably one of my favourites in the series.
The main character is Rhyannon, a runaway fairy princes in hiding, and Arrick, a troubled and cursed man with a pure heart. Most of the story plays out in Nocturne Falls, where the author made an amazing use of the existing characters and locations, and managed to create a true Nocturne Falls atmosphere. The story is a bit darker than usual but the topic would not allow it any other way. The author created a mean and cruel villain who dictated the tone of the story and put our heroes through hellish times.
Rhyannon is an amazing strong and kind person who is trying to get by until the day she can return home and restore life to her fairy kingdom. Arrick is cursed and not in charge of some of his actions, but he is willing to do whatever it takes to protect the one he loves. Together they face evil and fight against it. The author masterfully guided the plot to keep me on the edge of the seat biting my nails. It was a rough ride and I enjoyed it immensely.
The Nocturne Falls reading order is: The Vampire's Mail Order Bride (Nocturne Falls #1), The Werewolf Meets His Match (Nocturne Falls #2), The Gargoyle Gets His Girl (Nocturne Falls, #3), The Professor Woos The Witch (Nocturne Falls, #4), and The Witch’s Halloween Hero (Nocturne Falls #4.5) in Spell of the Ball Anthology, The Werewolf's Christmas Wish (Nocturne Falls #4.6) in Hex the Halls Anthology, The Vampire’s Fake Fiancée (Nocturne Falls #5), A Vampire's Valentine Surprise (Nocturne Falls #5.5), Miss Frost Solves A Cold Case : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #1), The Shifter Romances The Writer (Nocturne Falls #6), Miss Frost Ices The Imp : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #2), The Vampire’s True Love Trials (Nocturne Falls #6.5) in Taming the Vampire collection, Miss Frost Saves The Sandman : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #3), The Dragon Finds Forever (Nocturne Falls #7), The Vampire's Accidental Wife (Nocturne Falls #8), Miss Frost Cracks A Caper (Jayne Frost #4), When Birdie Babysat Spider: A Jayne Frost Short (Jayne Frost #4.5), Miss Frost Braves the Blizzard (Jayne Frost #5), and ever growing series of Nocturne Universe Novels, which surpassed 30 by now. Great world to get yourself immersed in.

Now this was a great Nocturne Falls Universe book. I absolutely loved it. I think, this is the best NFU book I’ve read so far.

The story was great, intriguing and complex enough. Very enjoyable. The main characters were so loveable. Arrick was a tortured gentleman. He’s so strong yet vulnerable. Rhyannon was a true princess, gracious, humble, strong yet soft. I think I fell in love with those two. And they’re so good together.

Read it, and you’ll be so satisfied!

I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

This is a story set in Nocturne Falls that involves Rhyannon and Arrick. Rhyannon is a fae princess who is forced out of her homeland in order to protect herself, her people, and the Heart. Arrick is a huntsman who is put under a curse by an evil sorceress. The two cross paths when Arrick is compelled by the sorceress to find Rhyannon and bring her to the evil sorceress. Instead, Arrick falls head over heals for Rhyannon and despite his curse, is dead set on protecting her. There are several twists and turns in this story, which a big twist at the end.

Very good read.

This book was shorter than the originals but the author did a good job on keeping the essence of the original Nocturne Falls series.
I did find it a bit annoying that the men all seem to do the exact same thing i.e. how they touch the woman’s hair etc.
I loved the thought of the Town. It sounds fun! I’m not into romances but they aren’t too sappy. It was nice to visit the town again.

just terrible Boring. I skipped over the pages then stopped. I just can not get into this story. I will try again one day, but not now. Will update then.

4 stars for the idea, BUT for the writing, the characters, the mistakes etc I do not even want to give even 1 star

Update: So I finally got back to this book... the ideas of the author are mostly very good. But she just can not deliver, not to mention wrong words in places that irritate ... was in every book I read from her. Always the same. So there is not editing. You get lots of unrelated boring talk you do not care for, what you need to know doesn`t get told. Most stuff makes no sense also. The Characters have 0 devolvement, they are flat and do not act like adults would.

Things like wrong words are really a problem... in this one I was really shaking my head : the wolf is following her. She hers him. Instead of writing : "Panting" behind her It is : PANTS behind her. I was like Pants of the wolf or what? Did he lost his Jeans?
Just horrible mistakes in every book... not even funny.

I will never ever buy ANY book from this Author ever again. 5 books and not 1 gets 1 star from me. Not 1.

Princess Rhy escapes her realm and a wolf and ends up in Nocturne Falls. Arrick is controlled and cursed by a witch who takes over his mind when he is the wolf. Rhy has something she wants. Rhy is rather sweet and Arrik is trapped. Adorable couple. He is trying to break free from the witch. Love, a curse, evil and adventure.

Another enjoyable and easy to read Nocturne Falls Universe story from Kira Nyte. Princess Rhyannon Andal and Huntsman Arrick Luvell are likeable nicely written central characters and I liked the way the story moved between Nocturne Falls and Rhy's homeland of Andallayne.
Worthy of four stars.
