Project Prometheus by Aden Polydoros is the second full length novel of the young adult action packed Assassin Fall thriller series. There is also a prequel novella to kick off the series and it is best to read the books in order or in the very least the two full length books in order as the second book will not make sense jumping into.
The series opened introducing several teens that had been trained at a place known as the Academy. A secretly ran organization had trained them to become soldiers and assassins following orders when given.
Now however the group is onto what has been done to them and finally begin to fight back against those that have controlled their lives. Told from alternating point of views you follow those left from the first book as they go about their revenge and taking out those involved in the project.
Having read all three books of the series my enjoyment has gone up with each I’ve picked up. The series is definitely fast paced and action packed which I love but reading the first full length book it did take a while to get used to the characters having several names referring to them with regular and code names along with case numbers. Now that I know them I just wanted more and more action and answers so when finished with this installment I would rate it at 4.5 stars.

I am not okay! Nope. Not one bit! Aden Polydoros has completely destroyed my feelings. I am a mess. A mess I tell you!
One of the prominent themes in this book was the devastating effect brainwashing and manipulation truly has on a child. Shannon and Tyler were so messed up and they knew it but they couldn’t heal. That tore me up because I really started to have a fondness for them. I wasn’t as invested in them as I was with Hades and Elizabeth but I still care a great deal for them. I just want my babies to be okay. Is that too much to ask??
But do you want to know who just absolutely broke my heart into tiny pieces? Hades. There is a scene, that I won’t tell you about in detail but you will know it when you read it, and it left me gasping for air. I was so raw and so filled with emotion. I couldn’t breathe and had to hold back tears. I’m sure everybody with in a 10 mile radius could heart the shattering of my heart. I am still healing from this.
I appreciate that this book was more about the different projects. We got a lot more information about Project Pandora and we got to see just how messed up the projects really were. However, this did effect the pacing a bit and it was a tiny bit slow in some areas, hence the half star deduction.
But honestly, this book and this series is fantastic. I’m probably it’s biggest fan but I can’t help but love it. I haven’t really found a series that has sucked me in like Harry Potter so I can’t help but be super excited about it! Do yourselves a favor and pick this book and series up today.

This second book was pretty close to as good as the first book. In book one you really felt the connection between Hades and Elizabeth, and you got to seeing him as a character that you had sympathy for and could definitely begin to like. By the end of this story, after all that happened, I felt even more sympathy for him, and really began to think of him as a favorite. Even with his attitude and ease toward killing, you feel it is all understandable. And then there is Apollo/Tyler and Artemis/Shannon. In their quest to find who was behind Project Pandora and make them responsible for what was done as well as exposing them to the public, they end up in more trouble. Tyler's injury leads to more details of their past, things they didn't remember. Things that bring even more trouble into their lives. We find out who Hades' real parent was, and when he learns things that he didn't know about Persephone/Elizabeth, he is set off and his need for revenge overcomes any hopes he ever even entertained for being a normal human some day.
There are more adults in this story. Dr. Miller is one of the first ones, and she has connections that take the story into the current title, Project Prometheus. So many new people to meet in this story, and so many that we have to wonder whether they are on "our" side, that of our Academy escapees, or if they are going to be there to bring them back into the fold, or maybe back into even worse scenarios. This was another easy, page-turning read, like the first book. And definitely we have left it open for a third book, which I will be eager to read and find out just where all of this will lead, and how will Hades fare in his quest for revenge. Another book I'll be adding to my school library for my students to read and enjoy.

Hades was my favorite of the trio. His character was the one that was written in depth in this one. Tyler and Shannon were likable too but their stories didn't draw me in the same way. The beginning took me a while to get my head into the book but once I did the book was quickly devoured. Action packed and set at a good pace this was a good read but I do wish I read the first book beforehand.

I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, Project Pandora, which amazingly enough was Aden’s debut (a fact that still shocks me considering how well it was written and how much it affected me). I talked in my review for that book how much I ached for Hades, how I wanted to just hold him and tell him he meant something. I went back and re-read the first book before diving in to Project Prometheus, and I was amazed at how I still had butterflies about what was going to happen, how I still ached so badly for Hades–and that, to me, is definitely a sign of a great writer! Even though I knew what was coming, I was so caught up in the propulsive action and felt the same energy, nerves, and pain as I did the first time I read it. I still bawled like a baby at the end!
After re-reading book one, I dove into the prequel novella, Hades Rising, which tells the story of how Hades went from being A-02/Two to Hades, i.e., exactly what happened to him at the Academy. This story was referenced in Project Pandora, but Hades Rising gave it to us as it happened. I won’t lie, it was difficult to read, because of how much I care for Hades, and it may be a trigger for some folks (child abuse). But it’s definitely worth the read, to get inside both Hades and Elizabeth’s heads more. I found it just drew me to Hades even more, and that motherly ache I felt was even stronger.
Okay, on to Project Prometheus! As with the first book, I LOVED. This. Book! As mentioned, I bawled at the end of book one, and those of you who’ve read it will understand why. AND YET! I still held out some Pollyanna-ish hope that what happened didn’t *really* happen…I mean, it’s a novel after all! Sometimes what we think happens isn’t what really happens and then it’s revealed in the next installment, right? Well, that dream was dashed on the first page of Project Prometheus! No sooner had I started the book then I was crying all over again. Phew! After that, it was nonstop action, and I devoured the book in a day. Just like with Pandora, in Prometheus, Aden barely gives the reader a chance to breathe (much less his poor characters, ha!). He is truly a master of writing thrillers that absolutely compel you to keep reading. It was so hard to put my Kindle down while reading! And just when you think your characters have caught a break, something else happens to throw them (and you) right back into action. It’s incredible!
I don’t want to say anything about the actual plot, so as to avoid spoilers, but, in my humble opinion, if you read Pandora (especially if you loved it), you absolutely must read Prometheus! Tyler, Shannon, and Hades are on a mission to expose Project Pandora and the evil people in charge and, in the case of Hades, to exact revenge. They make an uneasy alliance, both among themselves and with other, unexpected characters. They discover new truths about themselves, try to take back control of their own lives, and just might even become friends. Through it all, your heart will beat faster and you’ll be flipping pages like a person possessed!
In going back to Project Pandora, I realized/remembered that I had over 100 notes on my Kindle for that book (I’m not kidding)! And with Project Prometheus, I had more than 50, many of them to the effect of, “Oh god…” and “Oh, Hades, my baby” and “Oh, my heart!” Again, I think this is a sign of a great writer, one who can make me feel so intensely, so many times while reading. Project Prometheus was perfect, and I am now hating the fact that I have to wait another year for the next installment! With Project Prometheus, Aden has delivered an incredible follow-up to his incredible debut, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you’re a fan of thrillers, you simply must pick up this series!

Picking up right after the crazy events of book 1, Project Pandora, Project Prometheus shows that Hades is still alive. He has been kidnapped by one of his many enemies from the hospital where he was recovering from a bullet wound , but he won't be a anyone's victim. Tyler and and Shannon have made it out and are experiencing a moment of freedom before the truth hits them- other kids are still being used and it is up to them to make it stop. The three damaged yet determined teens will stop at nothing to bring down the people behind Project Pandora.
Project Prometheus was exactly what I wanted it to be! There was no sophomore slump present in these pages, instead it was full on action, danger, mystery, confessions, twists and some pretty big surprises. Make sure you set time aside to read this book (or really either book in the series) because you will not want to put it down. I was a little concerned picking this up to start that I would not remember what happened fully in Project Pandora since it had such a complicated plot and I read it about a year ago, but that was an idle concern since Aden skillfully wove in the needed tidbits to spark my memory at the start of the book without info dumping or recapping. It was so easy for me to get sucked back into this stressful, wonderful world.
I know I raved about Hades in my review of the last book, but my heart still belongs to this tormented, abused, neglected, pretty sure sociopathic boy. Yes, I am notorious for rooting for the villain/ least liked person, but in this case I see Hades as the hero. Sure, Tyler and Shannon want to do what is right and save the world aka the other teens, and they have a chance of being able to one day have normal lives. But Hades, he will never be "normal" and he is willing to sacrifice himself if he can take the evildoers down (usually by terrible means, but oh well). Keep in mind that I love Shannon and Tyler, and especially the dynamic and banter between them. Aden is great at creating distinct voices for his characters that never overlap and make them feel so real (and that is a big deal here since we are talking about teen brainwashed trained assassins).
And yes, there will be more books to come because in no way was this the end for these characters or this mission- it felt like the war was just starting. More questions popped up right near the ending, so I am dying to find out more. Also, a certain unnamed but completely damaged yet I love character is going in a very different direction and I need to see what happens to him. Aden has made a fan for certain out of me and I look forward to what he has in store for the Project Prometheus.

I found it a little hard to write a review where I was a bit confused at first. It isn’t that the story line wasn’t an interesting one. It kept my interest. The swapping POV’s sometimes went a little of kilter for me. I usually don’t have a problem with a two person back and forth POV, but these three characters were connected in a way yet they weren’t so it was a bit of a stretch for me. It wasn’t that bad though.
This story was about Shannon and Tyler. What they went through at the Academy. Escaping or getting out and trying to deprogram while leaving dead bodies in their wake. Shannon it seems would do anything to protect Tyler. Both were portrayed as strong characters yet Shannon seemed the stronger of the two.
The third person was Hades who from what I was able to gather was hinted at being dead in the first book. I guess it was a good thing he survived as he was supposedly the prototype that all assassins were molded after. He was the best of the best. He seemed to have the hardest adjustment outside of the Academy because of the brainwashing and whole trust issue. He seems to have lost a lot. Hades was described as lethal. He was written with a lot of complicated depth.
Shannon and Tyler were likable characters. Who wouldn’t like them with what they have gone through? I guess you wouldn’t expect teens to become assassins that kill on a moment’s notice.
As the story evolved and I was able to figured things out. I found that all three had a common goal. They weren’t that different. They could actually become friends of sorts and work together towards their goals… revenge and exposing the whole Academy.
Mr. Polydoros gave us a very interesting take on genetic engineering, conspiracy theories along with many other things that are actually happening all over the world. He makes you stop and think…and wonder!
I liked this story yet I feel that I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the first in the series before this one. Oh well, I will just have to go back and read them in order.

The first book in this series, Project Pandora, was one of my most addictive, electrifying reads last year, and I didn't think I'd survive the wait for book two. I made it (barely), and dove right into Project Prometheus - and it's worth the wait.
Since he's mentioned in the blurb, I'm not giving anything away when I say Hades is alive. He continues to be my favorite character in this series, and after learning more of his backstory in the novella, Hades Rising, my heart broke for him. The Academy made him a lethal, trained assassin with a wavering moral compass at best, and because of that, it's difficult for him to function in normal society. He doesn't trust easily, if at all, and struggles to find his path in this book after suffering a tremendous loss.
The POV rotates primarily between Hades, Shannon, and Tyler, and while there are several harrowing, nail-biting action scenes, this novel also reveals surprising secrets, unexpected confusing and conflicting emotions from some characters, and strategic plans of revenge and exposure. And exactly what Project Prometheus entails.
If you're a fan of genetic engineering, conspiracy theories, and anti-heroes, you can't go wrong with this thrill-ride of a series.

While the first book was already action packed, this second one in the series succeeds in heightening the tension a notch more.
After their escape, the kids from the project, where they were trained to be assassins and committed terrible crimes without their knowledge, decide to fight back. Told from alternating points of view, the kids must get behind the real intentions and gain proof against the Academy...before they are stopped.
I enjoyed this book even more than the first. The emotions run high as the characters hunt down the proof they need to let the world know what the Academy did to them. There are layers of intrigue as well as many surprises along the way. And, of course, they are up against clever and very dangerous foes.
Each chapter is told from a different characters point of view with the character's name at the beginning of the chapter to keep confusion at bay. The switch from one to the other runs very smoothly and offers important insights at just the right time. The reader gets to know each character extremely well, making certain moments of the book hit hard. The feelings are raw and the determination high, which makes it a great read.

Interesting character development!
Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Teen for the opportunity to read and review Project Prometheus by Aden Polydoros!
This sequel dives deeper into the effects of Project Pandora. My heart broke for Hades. His story is made more powerful through the alternating points of view of Hades, Shannon and Tyler. Hades is on a mission to destroy Charles Warren, the man in charge of Project Pandora and the man who treated Hades horribly while "conditioning" him. When he meets his mother, he’s unsure how to feel and when she’s uncaring, his heart grows harder. I’m glad this series hasn’t ended yet and I’m looking forward to the next installment. 5 stars for the character depth and development!

Hades is on a mission to destroy Charles Warren, the man in charge of Project Pandora and the man who treated Hades horribly while "conditioning" him. Shannon and Tyler search for any and all information that they can find on Project Pandora and come across another project-Project Prometheus. Teens are being brainwashed to do whatever a cabal of adults wants them to do, usually assassinations, or in some cases being groomed to take over in key positions. Three of these teens have broken away. Can they stop this heinousness? Will they be able to overcome their own programming? Project Prometheus is a twisty second book in the Assassin Falls series. It has several political views points, but not overpowering for those who don’t like reading about politics. The addition of Project Prometheus and it’s role in the story is a twist and something I thought was a unique aspect to this book. There are time when the plot slows down, but it would immediately pick back up with a strong action scene that made me want more. After the cliffhanger, I NEED to know what happens next for the characters. If you’re looking for a great series, I highly recommend reading the Assassin Falls series by Aden Polydoros.

Nicely crafted dystopian tale. The three main characters are easy to relate to and the reader can understand what drives each of them to do and think as they do. Not having read the first book, I ordered it as soon as I finished with this, so I can get the full story and I'm interested to see where it goes next.

Really outstanding!! A great read, but be sure to read book 1 first or it won't make sense!! It's scary because it's possible, unfortunately! The characters have been drawn so well that the reader knows them! It is a hard book to read and also a hard one to put down!!

Really enjoyed this one. Dont know why it took me so long to leave my feedback, but long made short, this is a book that should not be passed over. Get it. Read it. You'll love it!
