Castillo continues to share his unique mechanical abilities and works with famous scientist, Nikola Tesla, to try and figure out how to operate a unique orb in ‘The Jupiter Chronicles: The Orb of Terra’ by Leonardo Ramirez. Still unsure of the fate of his father back on Jupiter, Ian, along with his sister, Callie, and other friends of the Chrono Legion try to defend earth from an attack by a tremendous beast that the Martians left behind. The mineral that was discovered and activates the orb is also the power responsible for waking the beast that destroys ships and comes to destroy their city.

Meanwhile, the Book of Worlds and Jupiter itself is under attack and Nomi must do his part to continue the legacy of the First and Seconds, saving the realms from Martian invaders. The Jovians jealously guard The Mist, the source of their power, and everyone fights to keep it safe, now involving planet Earth in the struggle. How will everyone, including Ian’s earth friends Dr. Cain and Dr. Tesla, work together to stop the threat?

Leonardo Ramirez continues the fantastic children’s Fantasy/Sci-Fi series, The Jupiter Chronicles with Book 3: The Orb of Terra. The characters are evolving and growing through trials and obstacles, proving that with determination, you can do so much. Vivid descriptions make the story come alive so you feel that you are flying along with them on their hover bikes and fireflights. One caution for readers, though, is that this is not a book that you can follow well if you have not read the previous volumes for the background of the characters and their situation, but with that knowledge, you can really enjoy what ‘The Orb of Terra’ has to offer.

What a vivid new world Leonardo Ramirez has brought us into!

Be prepared to become addicted to this story from the very beginning. Ramirez has created characters who are engaging and unique. The story itself has so many aspects you would not expect. Yes, its a Stempunk Story, but there is so much more woven throughout.

The twists and surprises are plenty and will keep you flipping pages til the very end.

Wow, this one really delivers in many areas. It is a thrilling Steampunk novel with teeth. Yes, it took a bit of catching up to understand what was going on, but once in the heart of it, Leonardo Ramirez has the reader hooked.

As far as Characters, Plot, and Flow, everything was very well developed and smooth.

This novel was a great escape from reality as well as a quick and easy read

I was sucked into this world more and more with each installment
I was continuously eager to see where Leonardo Ramirez would take these characters. I was very happy with the way he was able to build on the story and characters from the first installment to the next.
This is a Steampunk series with fantasy and intrigue, drama and action, and so much more. Don’t miss these novels!

As a sometimes dabbler into young adult literature, I greatly enjoyed The Orb of Terra. Readers who are young will enjoy this book, but adults who travel to the world of YA literature will like it, as well.

I found the book to be brisk (I finished it in one sitting, which is not something I say often), and I found it to be overstuffed with creativity. And by that I mean, fun and full of imagination.

I would gladly read this book aloud to my students, include as a choice read on my teacher or parent bookshelf, just enjoy it for my own reading.
