While preparing to leave Uttira after graduation, Megan finds the Book of Fury. The answers she's needed about who she is, her purpose, and her powers have been there the whole time, along with a shocking revelation. Now, it's not just a matter of finding Megan's mother. Megan must find the two preceding generations as well, because the book is clear on one thing: there can only be three furies.

I hate to rate one of Melissa's books so low, but even with the happy ending I still couldn't love this book. I wanted to so hard (the first book in the series is amazing, and the second book is also pretty fantastic). I don't know, it was just something about the tone in this one I didn't like.

I also thought it was a little too...oh, what's the word...? Self-serving, that scene near the end where Megan confronts a girl about downloading pirated books online for free. Like, I get it, Melissa is an independent author and pirating her books is bad (and it is. If you want to read her books, pay for them!) but including that scene in there took me out of the story and I didn't think it was completely appropriate of Melissa to do that.

Either way, I'm discovering that I love the beginnings of the series' that Melissa writes but not the endings LOL (I had a similar reaction to the last Judgment of the Six book--didn't care for it or the characters introduced in it) so when she writes more series' in the future I'll know to prepare myself to be disappointed in the ending.

ALSO--for young readers, there's a bit more sexual stuff than I would deem appropriate for teens to read in this one. Namely, the orgy scene. It was kind of uncomfortable to read and I'm in my mid-20s...

The whole plot of chasing the person killing the trolls was not great. It felt like bad filler. The only explanation why those two kids were sent to do the job is that the adults around them are cruel and idiots, and that doesnt sit well. Then there is our MC, literally dying and pretending nothing is wrong, and her reasons are not smart or good or venerable. It was An onslaught of TSTL from all parties.

This was a really nice ending to a really nice series and I’ve really enjoyed reading it. Not just because it’s slightly based on Greek and Norse mythology, but also because it’s a YA true to the old fashioned style. A normal girl, suddenly discovering that she’s special and then moving to a different town and a different school where she meets a hot guy.

What I loved and enjoyed so much in this trilogy was the mix of a coming of age story, of a girl coming into her powers and growing into who she wants to be and has to be, and a hint of mystery. In this book the history is more prominent than in the previous two books, but the ending of Megan’s arc is spectacular and the mystery really serves her growth.

Haag also managed to create a world with loads and loads and loads of possibilities. We’ve seen a relatively small part of it, but it’s clear that there’s loads of mythology, characters and world yet to discover. I’ve ordered the first book of the first spin off already and can’t wait to read it and I secretly hope that loads more books will follow.

Because Haag has a really pleasant and easy to read writing style. It are the perfect books to read in the train or in the bus. They are gripping and manage to distract me from the noises and yet they don’t make me cry or feel overly emotional. (I don’t mind crying in the bus, but it’s not my favorite thing either!)

I’m certainly gonna check out what more she has written!

It took me a really long time to settle on a rating for this book. Basically, I'm being pretty generous with 3 stars, only because I really liked the series and the concept of the series as a whole. But this particular book was, to put it mildly, a hugely disappointing ending to the series. Oanan's jealously was cute at first, but in this book, it just became over-the-top and outright annoying. Megan had questions with obvious answers throughout the whole book, and mind-boggling mysteries were brushed off with over-simplistic answers. It really felt like this book was rushed to production without much thought put into anything. Top it all off with a stereotypical, flash forward epilogue. Like I said, a disappointing ending to the series.

really like this series. the last chapter and epilogue gave the series a satisfying ending, although I do still have some lingering questions. however I'm sure the spin-off will answer most of those. looking forward to hearing more about fenris and eliana.

Fabulous end to one of my favorite series! Great job, Melissa Haag, on this third book! I sense there will be other stories, right!?!? I love the author's attention to detail, her sense of humor, and how well written her books are. Well done!

4 stars — I’m loving this world that Ms. Haag has created, it’s so intriguing, and I definitely want to be reading more in it!

This final installment for Megan’s story was still a lot of fun, but again…was marred by Megan keeping things from Oanen, making him worry, not allowing people to help her. At least this time she really did need to figure out a few things on her own to find the solution, but her stubbornness is so freaking annoying. Like for realz. It makes me glad her trilogy is over, because apparently she doesn’t learn.

Even with those frustrations, I loved the way the fury stuff ended up going, and how Megan solved some of her issues. It was unique and satisfying, even if the journey had me banging my head at times.

I did miss Uttira, and getting more glimpses of Eliana and Fenris, since this one was set outside the town…but it was nice having more Megan and Oanen time. Despite the communication issues, I really do love the two of them together. And this one just got steamier, their chemistry is fantastic!!

I found the outside mystery plot really interesting, and it makes me wonder if we’ll ever find out more about what was going on with Zayn, what he was trying to achieve. I hope so! I also liked getting introduced to a few more creatures…Piepen was HILARIOUS.

So yeah. Kind of a short review, but really there’s not much to say. For this fan, it was an enjoyable finale. Though, OMG, that epilogue was a tease! I want to know what happens! Bonus novella? 😉

A Great Ending

Wow this was a really good final ending to the Fates and Furies series. This was a well written book and I enjoyed it immensely, yes there was some points where I wanted more to happen but the story kept going in the right direction. Fury freed starts off with Megan discovering the book of Fury the key to her heritage that she was searching for in book 2 but couldn't find in the vast Academy library. And even though the book explained a lot of about Furies, it did not hold a whole lot of information that Megan needed answers to especially when things start to go wrong.

So this is where our story starts Megan and Oanen (an enforcer) Must head to New York city to investigate the death of a Troll who died with a smile on his face and considering trolls of very grouchy, cranky creatures especially as they get older it comes as a concerning mystery to the council that needs to be seen too. Especially when Megan herself gets pulled into it by mistake and ends of disappearing. But on this journey Megan discovers she's got more problems to worry about as her powers do not seem to be working correctly in that she can't fully sense the Wicked and instead of sending people to hell she's actually burning herself out causing her to have Burns on her body and the only way to get her powers is Take them. Although Megan is not a typical Fury and decides that she won't do it and will not tell Oanen that she's experiencing this pain. But when more magical creatures start to die with smiles on their faces: Oanen and Megan will use all their knowledge and their wit and cunning to find out exactly what is happening to the older generation.

But as things are not what they seem the two meet new creatures and make unusual friends in those they are hunting. Although when things seem to become Dire and Megan's life is in the balance she will have to make a choice: the hardest choice in the world. To save herself or kill another. But Megan will not go without a fight and the ending made me jump for joy and dance I was happy.

This was a very good book and I will admit I even cried at one point towards the end, during a particular emotional scene I would read this series again. And even the little tick bit of a new book starring Fenris and Eliana, I was almost ecstatic with joy as I want to know what happens with those two, especially with Eliana's mother thrown into it. Although I don't really want to have to wait a whole year for it... So until the next book happy reading !!

What a fan-flipping-tabulous ending to an amazing series. Fury Freed is the last book in the Of Fates and Furies trilogy. I loved every jaw-dropping, adrenaline filled part of this book. The world that has been created leaves my mind open to the countless possibilities of what can happen in this universe. I cannot express how much I truly loved this book enough.
The plot of this book is great. This is the last book in a trilogy so it is safe to say all the questions about the main characters will be answered. I will say it did open up a lot of questions for some minor characters and their stories, but the plot of this book did its job. I feel happily satisfied with the way this story ended.
The main characters in this book were amazing as always. Megan is such a strong and resilient character. This series has really been about her journey, but I especially loved this books perception of her. I felt like this was a character I could look up to. Then you have Oanen. We have seen one side of him, but this book really opens up this new side to him. This is a side of him I really wanted and was beyond glad we got to see.
The heat in this series has been perfect. I felt the heat has progressively and organically increased, but not so much that this book wouldn’t be considered safe for young adults. The chemistry between the characters is exactly what this book needed. I really enjoyed this aspect of this book.
The writing style is on point as always. The pace of this book is steady. The story is told from a single point of view. The minor characters are just as endearing as the main characters. This world has become one of my favorites to lose myself in.
In conclusion, I really loved this entire trilogy. The author really left this world open to our imaginations. She could really go anywhere next. It is safe to say that I would recommend this book to others.

This was the perfect closure to Megan and Oanen's part of the series. After leaving Uttira to find the answers for gaining her full power, Megan discovers some things she didn't know and some things she didn't realize would affect her in the ways they did. And with Oanen at her side and in danger, she makes her way across the country to find her grandmother. But the response she receives might not be the one she is looking for. How will she navigate her way through the prophecy without facing the one situation she doesn't want to face? And how will she make it through any of it without losing Oanen in the process?

I fell in love with all of these characters from the first book, and I wanted to see things go the way I thought they should, only to be turned another and better direction by the author. She writes the strongest heroines, even when they aren't physically strong, and takes them through situations that keep the reader on edge and wondering if they'll survive. We always expect a particular outcome and find ourselves surprised at the path she takes us on, resulting in a more satisfying adventure instead.

I'm always left with an anticipation for the next book whether it is in the series I'm currently reading or a new one. But I am truly excited for her to bring us back to this world, and I hope it happens in the near future.

In Fury Freed, the third in Haag’s Fates and Furies series, Megan faces her greatest challenge so far. In book 1, Megan is abandoned by her mother without explanation and finds herself in a community designed for non-humans, of which she is one—a Fury to be exact—a being whose charge it is to seek out evil doers, make them confess, and send them to hell. Which explains why her temper is completely out of control. In book two, she discovers how to control and focus her powers to use them wisely and without hurting others. But the elders in her special community aren’t being forthcoming with all the answers she seeks, something that frustrates her. In book three, Megan finds out that only three Furies can exist at one time. For her to survive and come into her full power, she needs to find and kill the oldest Fury…her grandmother! The problem is (among lots of other things) Megan is not a murderer. Her one true love, her mate, and the one who is dedicated to protecting Megan is a griffin named Oanen. He accompanies her on a quest to find her grandmother and determine whether it is truly necessary to end her life. Believe me, everyone needs a griffin. They fly. And they are beautiful. And they are unwaveringly loyal and patient. Even with the crankiest of Furies. Another five star YA paranormal fantasy from Melissa Haag.

After weeks of teasers, I finally got my hands on this baby! And let me tell you, it didn't disappoint.

Melissa Haag has always been a phenomenal writer. Back when I started with Touch and the Judgement of Six series, Melissa has also had the ability to craft a plot and put it onto paper in such a way that the story just completely drags you in. It flows seamlessly, and she always weaves her heart and soul into it (along with her humour!)

In particular, I loved how the relationship dynamics of this book played out. Not just Megan and her steamy Griffin boyfriend, but her relationship with her grandmother, with her mother, and with her best friend (even though we see almost nothing of her, she still has her role to play).

The cherry on top of this book really was the LOL moments I had while reading this book. The one liners are killer, and then she can flip a dime and have you near tears the next, all without breaking a stride. Overall, this book and series was nothing short of amazing!

This book is amaze-balls! If I was already seriously in love with this series/world, Fury Freed would fix that without question. Uttira is fascinating and will hold my attention for a long, long time, but seeing Megan and her fury unleashed on the world was epic! And the development of her relationship with Oanen was well worth the slower build-up in the first two books.
There’s other developments, of course, including the introduction of other creatures of the Mantirum, Megan’s grasp of the world she’s been plunged into, and the introduction of characters only previously alluded to.
I didn’t want to put Fury Freed down for a moment, the story is so captivating. I can’t wait to read the next series of the Mantirum universe: Kiss and Claw. I imagine we’ll be seeing Megan and Oanen some there, too, though their epilogue is absolutely perfect.

If you are fan of paranormal romance with adventure then look no further and get a copy of this book! You will not be sorry. I highly advise you to read book 1 and 2 to fully fall in love with this series!
This is the 3rd and last book of the Of Fates and Furies Series. It was bitter sweet. Sweet in the sense that you get the closure of Megan’s and Oanen’s story. Bitter because the series if finished (I still feel like crying over this).
Megan discovers what she truly is and all her questions are answered but of course as it is with Megan, nothing goes smoothly as planned. In addition to this, Megan and Oanen have to uncover a murder mystery. This book was so intriguing (love a good murder mystery) and the heart stopping romance that Oanen brings to the story had me turning page for page till the wee hours of the morning!

This is the final installment, for these characters at least.

Megan finally has all the answers to what she is, and they suck! Book two ended with Megan finding a book about furies and being told she has to kill her great grandmother. Lame. But our Megan doesn’t take thing laying down. This is her story of fighting her own fate, learning to let those she loves truly love her back, making friends, and mending bruises she didn’t know went that deep.
I wanted the book to be longer, but you are left satisfied. Cover to cover, you won’t put this book down. Instead of leaving you hanging, you get a final story. A story that you’ll want to read again and again, because it’s just that good!

Love this heroine!

I love Megan. And Oanen. And Eliana and Fenris… Can’t wait for their story!
First: Megan. She is an amazing Fury! She’s tough, maybe a little bossy, but really stands up for what’s right and doesn’t take anyone’s crap. She has a magical command of witty sarcasm; she cracks me up all the time. And she’s smart, not typical book-smart, but clever coloring-outside-the-lines-smart.
And Oanen… Oh, Oanen… That boy makes me swoon… Strong, protective, downright fierce when he thinks Megan is threatened. There is absolutely nothing he wouldn’t do for Megan. Now that is devotion.
As for Eliana and Fenris, I’m anxiously counting down the days, and teasers… ;)

The ending felt super rushed. Very sad with this last book. The build up to this book was so good, but this one let me down. Introducing totally new characters ( even half way into the last installment), and then not explaining anything about them, or exploring them further, felt totally weird. And totally skimming over beloved (or not) characters, from previous books felt dumb as well. And yes, we get it, you take a shower every, freaking, day. And it needs to be mentioned, every, freaking, day. Nothing really interesting happened throughout this book until the end, and those things felt rushed when they shouldn't have been. Also, yes, stealing books is bad (I pay for all of mine) but the mentioning of it in the story was super cringy and weird. Overall very disappointing.

FANTASTIC!!!! I absolutely LOVE the conclusion of this trilogy.

Megan heads to New York with her boyfriend Oanen who is currently investigating the death of another creature. While they are there, Megan has a chance encounter with her mother who tries to discourage her relationship with Oanen. Meanwhile, during their investigation, dragons are dying and Megan has disappeared...twice. As she and Oanen solve the mystery surrounding the deaths of the supernaturals, can Megan save Oanen when he is taken? Can she claim Oanen as hers and finally become Fury Freed?

Read and find out!!! Fantastic conclusion.

🔥 Amazing!! 🔥
This was a fantastic ending to the Of Fates and Furies Series. Megan and Oanen’s relationship really blossoms in this book and it was great to see a different side to both of their personalities, especially the fun side of Bird Boy. There is so much action and drama with a good mix of fun, romance, sass and excitement throughout and I loved how the author touches on book piracy and how you don’t always need to believe there is only one way to look at things for it to be right! New characters were interesting and I have some theories about them which I hope to find out if I’m right or wrong in the new Spin Off series that will be coming soon!!
A MUST READ SERIES!!! 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Love Megan ❤️

This is such a fun and thrilling YA series. The characters are sassy, funny and charming. The plot across the 3 books has really grabbed my attention because I’ve never read anything like it - with the lead character being an unusual supernatural and with the great mix of creatures etc throughout the story, this is a real page turner. Megan and Oanen find themselves in New York investigating a murder and I really enjoyed the twists and turns of the tale. Fans of the series will love this final instalment ❤️
I’m looking forward to more stories set in this world 😁

LOVED it!! Oanen is still the very definition of swoon and Megan added a ton of strength to go along with that sass and snark and I am totally here for it. It was so fun to watch the relationship between those two grow and change.
I also loved all the new characters in this installment and the wider view of the Mantirum universe. The only downfall of this book was a serious lack of Fenris but that just makes me even more excited for his own book. Can't wait!!

Favorite Quote:
“You are the most beautiful creature in this world,” he said softly.  “And, it’s hard to think straight when your eyes glow like that.”
“Then maybe you should stop randomly kissing me,” I said.
“Never.”

Ugh. All I can say about this book is that I finished it. And the story (that which was not focused on the main characters trying to get into each others' pants) was OK. Not great, though. It was full of holes and many loose ends were NOT tied up to my satisfaction. But what really bugged me was all the teen sex-y bits. Towards the middle of the book, I just started skipping pages just so I could get back to the story. The boyfriend continues to be stiflingly overprotective and sex-obsessed and flat. The epilogue - and I usually love epilogues - was lame. Just poor execution for the end of a decent trilogy. A bit more swearing than the other books and lots more sex-y stuff. Ick.

I had a hard time rating this book, because it felt so long.. The constant battling about her health and his insecurities was getting old. Then it started to get really interesting towards the end, the way she handled things with Irene (the sole purpose of this book). I really wanted to know what happened to the girl whose soul she stole though, why she ended up like that, wanting to kill her son. I'm also interested in what happened to the two little guys she sent to Uttira and the relationship between Fenris and Eliana. Lastly, I want to know what happens next, what gender the baby is etc. It suddenly stopped and I was like, okay where is the rest of the book..

Another great series from Melissa Haag!
Why not five stars? Well, the magic system is highly under-explained. Which is usually fine in YA fantasy as long as things make sense. But I couldn't understand why Megan's powers came even though she didn't "keep to the code."
And the druid that was introduced had unexplained powers that seemed to "make things easy" so that through me out of my happy state of suspended disbelief.
Still a wonderful series. Can't wait to read more of Eliana's story in the next series.

How long have I been waiting for this book? Far too long...even though it's been just a couple of months but I can't say that I've been waiting patiently. Nope. Not at all. I really, really wanted to know how things would go on because, let's face it, those last lines of Fury Focused? That was a bombshell. And with everything else still going on there, yep, I was waiting for this final book of Megan's story.
Was it worth the wait - ohhhh, yess....... this book was once again amazing!

Once again the perfect combination of humour, action and some sweet romance, wonderful characters and a great story that will keep you on your toes and won't let you sleep!
I must admit that these books are really difficult to review because there's so much that is fun and unexpected and I really don't want to spoil the story for anybody because I told too much so - I'll just say that this book is amazing and if you've loved the other books in this series (which you definitely should have read before even thinking of picking up "Fury Freed") you will also love this one.

I have really enjoyed this series and this was fantastic ending and I'm looking forward to more.
There are alot of unanswered questions answered and we get to watch the characters grow especially Megan as she comes into her own and become the fury she was meant to become as she and the others face new challenges and adventure.
Melissa Haag is a very talented author and creative mind. I'm looking forward to more stories and adventures.
