Good:
1. Good cover
2. A positive message that is the center of the plot.
Not so good:
1.Narration was plain, and uni dimensional
2. The story hopped from one event of Meghna's life to the other in a flash.
3. And spelling mistakes.

Not bad strictly for girls if they bog downed at a exact situation. It could be help them to prosecute how situation can handle. It tooks me to think how far girls pursuing their parents talk similarly possessing some kind of rude talk of neighbors would afflict them too much but her father took care of her soothing explicitly explains his emanate difficulties with ease perhaps contribution of her problems had wrecked him, his daughter down suppressed of predicament to find the solution intake of situations after long of parenting life do not made her proclaim her parenting role she provoked sort of work rip apart on her which made her terrible. after so long she realized for everything there will be a good end until we find it in a tend manner

Just what I needed

It's an amazing short story, articulating everything I wish someone should know. I hope to teach my kid the same someday.

Book Name (with subtitle): My Father’s Lessons (You cannot be Perfect always)
Author Name: Nivedita Vedurla.
Format: Kindle
No of Pages: 13
Blurb: The blurb portion is written aptly in a simple way while highlighting the base to such an extent that will tempt the reader to go for the inner content of the story.
Cover: Front cover of the story is eye catching indeed and after analyzing the story, I can say that it is justifying the content of the story appropriately.
Title: Title of the story is deep and good one of course. It is capable enough to make the reader curious that what kind of lessons are the story of this book consisting with and what is it all about. It goes with the content of the book perfectly.
Language & narration: Language of the book is lucid enough to comprehend. Narration of the story is very connectable and maintained in a plain and single flow till the end. Conversations and other noticeable lines are printed in Italic font to make the look different. I appreciate the simplicity in the narrating style of the author.
Plot: Plot of this short story is touching and well developed I must say, because, in spite of being a short story, the depth of the plot is evident throughout the story.
Theme: Inspirational, Life lessons.
Story & My Verdict: The story revolves around the various stages of the life of Meghna & her surroundings. Being a girl, Meghna is familiar to all that kind of restrictions and conceptions that is running in the veins of society & family since years. Having a general family background, the thought is common that, no matter how well educated or ambitious the girl is, but ultimately she will go to her in laws, and will have to spend their lives as housewife. So girls are usually being taught to become a good wife, a good daughter in law, a good Mother and all others but her dreams or passions are usually lost their place in priorities of their life. It is a perception running that, having a ‘good’ look & with ‘very good’ culinary skills, a girl is eligible for marriage or do enough well in their life, but it is not the ultimate thing they are born to do. Girls have an equal right to have ambitions or follow their passions in life, that doesn’t mean that they have to sacrifice their position in family or place for their loved ones. If any person knows how to prioritize things accordingly, then there will always be a way out to every aspect in life. Through the journey of Meghna, we will get to learn much valuable lessons of life, which she adopted from her father. A girl, who has ambitions in eyes, dream to something by her own, talents inside herself with a good caring heart, just because inability of making soft, round, fluffy Chapattis shouldn’t degrade her value or position in other’s eyes. Making round & soft chapattis can’t be a ‘criteria’ to ‘judge’ a Woman’s ability. Of course, the art of good cooking is definitely a plus point, but that doesn’t mean, who are not good at it, knows nothing. Since Meghna’s adolescence phrase of time to becoming the mother of two children- the entire span has been captured in the short story; what potential she had & how she overcame her minor shortcomings in life to achieve big and establish her position in his family, after marriage and in outer world in her professional life, how she managed to become a good daughter, wife, daughter in law, mother & business woman, by following the lessons of her father at various situations in life, is the story all about.
Author Nivedita Vedurla has penned down a much needed essential and inspirational short story and sent messages across the society & their mentality. This will help Woman to take life clearly and see things from a different side and it is very good to see the other side of the life too to grow more and achieve big. Through the character of Meghna & her father, we learn many things, such as- One cannot be perfect all the time & please everyone at the same time, because everyone is having a different perspective in life and their demands are different too, so it is normal to vary in opinions, but not satisfying some person at a particular thing doesn’t make your efforts futile. Every person will have a simpler life, if they can prioritize their preferences according to their goals, they will be able to manage this surely. One cannot be equally good at everything but in some particular things they can be at their best. Life teaches a person right things at the right time. Giving up on dreams can’t be a solution. The love of a father, some dilemma of a Woman, mental phases of a mother, genuine support and caring nature of a husband, everything has been portrayed here in the story evidently well & it touched me to the core. Will be looking forward to the future endeavors of the authoress Nivedita Vedurla.
Recommendation: I would love to recommend this touching and inspirational short story to every avid reader. This is a fast read but with deep powerful impact I can say and readers will love it. Thank you.

This book is nothing like the ones I usually read and review. It was different in terms genre, concept and the content. I'd say rather than it being one single story it was a collection of many short stories where each of the short story had the stand and message of their own. This book showed many instances of an average girl's life.

Simple things that occur as a girl grows up are very well shown. It is a nice light read. Honestly I didn't find anything exciting enough to just go and grab a read or just plain worse to even neglect. It somewhere landed in the 'okay' zone at least for me. If you are a quick reader than this book won't even take more than 10-15 minutes. Yes, it's that short story. Since it was short enough and I don't have much to talk about it without giving out spoilers to that's all on my part for this one.

Meet Meghna, a regular metro city girl going through the regular life crisis just like every girl goes. It is a beautiful short story about how Meghna's father passes on his wisdom and teaches her simple lessons in life through some strong examples. He makes it a point that his daughter never feels inferior or defeated, and that her efforts are always appreciated and strives to be a good daughter, wife and a mother. Author Nivedita portrays a beautiful and friendly relation between a father and daughter just the way it is supposed to be. Hoping the author elaborates the story and turns it into a novel. It's a delight to read such lovely stories. waiting to read more such stories from the author. Would definitely recommend it to all.

Read if you are running low on self-worth, will help you feel better

Nivedita: I gave two stars for your brave attempt. Actually, there is nothing new about your story, is quite unimaginative and lame. It is like an essay. There are no ups and downs, no conflicts, no challenges, just nothing to keep the reader guessing. Moreover, the narrative is laced, generously with typos and spelling mistakes. Before publishing, please have pity on people who might end up reading your book and do a basic spell check. One good thing: your intent to tell an inspirational story is commendable. Keep writing. :)

Short and cute

Haha this story was kinda cute but inspiring.. it shows Meghna's failed attempts at making perfectly round and soft chapatis..And how she learns for her father that one cannot be good at every field. Nobody is perfect after all, it's completely okay if one is good at many other fields except for one, it is okay to be a flawed person, because all of us are meant to be forwarded.
Do read it if you want a refreshment from the hustle bustle of busy life, it will hardly cost you 20 mins to finish the story.. Loved it ❤

You are best, but not at every thing

One should not be trying to excel in every thing, because all 5 fingers can't be the same and so as a person can't be best at every thing. Every one has their share of excellence and they should cherish for it rather creeping about their short comings.

Short story, but big concept

Life's lesson explained in a subtle way. Has universal appeal.Everyone will connect with the subject. It's not just what others say about you, but how you feel about yourself, your strengths and weaknesses

Short and sweet. This short story drives home a few messages quite succinctly. No one can be perfect in all she does and one shouldn't even aspire for it. The sooner one realizes it, the better would it be for one's existence.

Nice story

Nice moral story suggesting perfection is not everything and there is much to do apart from attaining perfection and especially this is not required in aspects that doesn't interest you.

The book definitely revolves around the question why your chapattis are not round? and relates the answer to this question given by the Protagonist's father to other major events of life. I guess this book is for Indian women.

My Father's Lessons is fiction and second book of author Nivedita Vedurla. Title of book is enough good. Cover of good is not that good but it would have been better which will help reader to show interest to buy and read the book. Okay, let me start with my review about this book..
Review :
Meghana is a girl is her adolescence. Her parents are finding her a good husband but every time she rejects and get rejected too due to reasons like of not able to make good and round chapati and not so good looking.
But finally she gets married to husband which has big joint family. Her mother is worried about her that she is not able to cook that good and mostly when it comes to prepare good chapatis. But Meghana's husband is not worried about her chapati and he happily eats it. After years she is now mother of two children and she has got a job too but she is worried that she has to look after her children and cooking too and decides to resign the job. When she comes to her father's place she has discussion with her father about leaving the job. But her father tells her witty lines like we cannot please everyone because each and every person has got their own interests in food and everything. And her father tells her that it is not most important to leave the job just for cooking food..
And finally she agrees to her father and lives her life with the job, children and not so good round chapatis..
This was short read.. And author narrated the story in a very beautiful way..
Good for one time read..
