This story is based on South Africa and shows ups and downs of human life. Beautifully written the writer is able to pull the readers into the harsh setting of mine, incidents that lead to twists and turns and thoughts of main characters. The reader can easily relate to point of view of various narrators of the story. The story has everything such as young adult love, adultery, abuse, crime, mystery around hidden diamonds. More importantly the author shows death as the ultimate truth of everyone’s life whether it be rich or poor. Overall, this novel requires getting little used to the author’s style of writing initially but then it is all good to the point where you would want to finish the novel. This novel is recommended to those who like to read fictional stories related to human life.
