"They say grief passes. They say the pain gets less.
Well, I don’t want it to go. I don’t want it to stop hurting.
The pain helps me function and get through the day. And it helps me focus on one thing: revenge."

The Morrigan needs to die, no question about that. But first, Wyn and her Guardians need to find her.

While the Realm prepares for war, allies arrive from unexpected places. But there are enemies hiding in plain sight that could stop the war before it's even begun.

Can Wyn destroy the Morrigan without sacrificing the lives of her loved ones?

Wyn is having some issues after everything that went down in the last book and on top of that her mom is sick not really getting any better. The Morrigan is gearing up for attack with Arthur by her side leaving Wyn vulnerable at a really bad time. Can she take the reins for her mom, fix things with her men, and save them all in the end? Well some of that is answered in this new installment and I bet the rest will be in the finale coming next. If you read books 1 and 2 then of course you have to read this and if you haven't read them yet why not? I really enjoyed it so I give it 4/5 stars.

At the beginning of this book, I won't lie. I didn't love it. It was a very bad disappointment from the first two books. But being optimistic, I decided to stick with it. I'm glad I did. The story was just as intense and thought-provoking as the first two! I can't wait to get the next book in my hands. I fully recommend this book. It's witty and charming and engaging! I recommend reading the first two books first!

Okay I love this series so much but this is the best book yet!!! There are some emotional scenes with my beloved Crispy wispy wooooo, steam and loving with all the guardians, excitement and danger and as always Arcs kilt!

There is humour that made me chuckle, bits that made me squeal and a serious Wyn dealing with and owning her new role. Well written this is an awesome story and there is still a book to go!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this read and love the series as a whole

I think this series is sooo good. Wyn and her mates have been through a lot and this story starts right wherre the last on finished. Wyn has to try and figure out what to do about the Morrigan and Arthur and also what to do with her men while she is taking care of all that. Also, to add to her stress her mom is not really the same gaddess that she used to be. This book was steamy, adventurous, funny, and so anticipating that I just did not want to put it down until I was done. Can't wait to get to the next story to see what happens to all of the characters.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This picks up right where Winter Heiress left off and is such an exciting and intense read. After losing Beira, Wyn is grieving while having to prepare for the upcoming fight. With each book I love Wyn and her Guardians more.

I've been on the fence regarding Laurel Schroeder's narration but I felt this one was better than the previous two.

This is book three of the Daughter of Winter series and the main character Wyn, is dealing badly with the news of her adoptive mother’s cruel death at the hands of the Morrigan. War is coming and the Morrigan is controlling all the demons, whilst the King of Summer, Angus, is trying yet again to take the power of the seasons all for himself. Wyn must face the Library of Lives again, after she allows herself to wallow in her grief and anger for too long and uses a unicorn’s sparklies to allow her to forget. She has been ignoring the bond between her and her four sexy Guardians and thought she could become ice cold like her birth mother, Queen Beira, to cope. She is able to think in the clam of the library, where she is to decide if she wants to live or die. She has bottled up her magic so much, that it has flared out and destroyed part of the palace. Her mother has been weakened further by her efforts to save everyone and still has Wyn to save, if Wyn wants to live. She soon realises how much she needs her men, Storm, Frost, Arc, and even Crispin, who may not want her after all the hurt she has laid on him!
Wyn must take over her mother’s duties and make sure everyone is prepared for war and search for any allies she can find amongst the Gods and Goddesses. The Queen of Spring, Flora, sends a messenger to her court and seeks to speak to the Queen in person, which brings the chance of an alliance with an army and realm once loyal to Angus. She knows practically none of them and must invite them to a party, so they can enjoy meeting her and others, whilst also talking of such a serious matter. She has a God training her on her unexpected new power and also finds herself developing a deeper bond with some of her Guardians. Crispin is still suffering from the things he did on behalf of the Morrigan and needs reassurance from Wyn that she doesn’t hate him for all the things she made him do. The Morrigan always seems to be ten steps ahead of everyone else and was created to be the strongest out there, and her next trick nearly sees Wyn assassinated again, by someone she thought she could trust implicitly. But not everyone is who they seem, as she will find out!
Three of her Guardians go to scout out a location given to them by a trusted source, that will hopefully lead them to where the Morrigan is hiding and maybe even where Wyn’s father is being held. Her Guardians may be well trained and brave and would do anything for her, but they are no match for the Morrigan herself. If they run into her on their scouting expedition, their lives could be forfeit and Wyn would lose three of her four loves. Wyn is able to get glimpses of what one of her Guardians is seeing, but that just shows them reaching a destination. The next glimpse shows them in mortal danger and Wyn must rush to help them if she can. Only her mother and Angus have the power to teleport people and themselves to locations, but as we are finding out, Wyn is not limited to the usual rules about Demigoddesses when it comes to her powers and new ones seem to appear, either at the worst possible time, or just when she needs them! The lives of her three Guardians are on a knives edge at the end of this book and finding her true strength and being able to fully control of her magic, may be the only thing that can save them all. Her bond with these three men is the strongest it could be and they share so much through their bond. I hope to see more happen because of their growing bonds to each other and hope it will make a difference in the war to come against the twin forces of Angus and the Morrigan! This should have been the last book in this series, but there is still more to come for the main characters and a war to be won. I can’t wait to read the final book in the series. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Since her human mother was killed by the Morrigan, Wyn has blocked out everyone, her guardians, her birth mother Biera, only Blaze has been allowed and then only because of his sparklies. After a horrible scene with Blaze her anger and depression ruling her, she fights her guardians attempts to reach her and the magic flares again. With everyone still blocked out she ends up back in the library of lives once again, this time she needs to decide live or die. After looking at her human mother's book she decides life and her shields crash down.

Open again Biera is now able to save her from the destruction her magic has caused. Unfortunately the effort of saving everyone in that wing of the palace has left Biera with no reserves. She needs Wyn to rule.

There's another problem too, Crispin her healer guardian is angry. While she reunites with Frost, Arc and Storm, Crispin stays away. She also begins her rule.

With Crispin it takes a bit more but once they are all together again things start moving rapidly towards war.

Flora the Goddess of Spring wishes and alliance and then there's the dragons and Ada to deal with.

So much happens in this book, there is pain, tears, battle plans, laughter and sizzling heat.

I can't wait read the next book in this series.

Winter Queen picks up right where Winter Heiress leaves off.

Wyn is experiencing grief from the loss of her mother and seems to have impending doom approaching if she can't rally some allies to help her. I love that she has her guardians to support her through this tough time. I also love that all the guardians are different from each other.

The author's writing is such that you just can't help but fall even more in love with the characters as the story progresses.

Laurel Schroeder has done a great job narrating this series. Of all the books so far, I really feel like this has been her best performance yet. I enjoyed her narration of books 1 and 2, but in this one, I didn't have to speed it up to not be distracted by her cadence at the end of each sentence (which I had to do with books 1 and 2).

I don't think these books would be as good if you had not read or listened to the previous ones in the series.

Side note: it is just too cute that Wyn calls Crispin 'My Crispy'.

Great writing and great narrating, can't wait for more from this author narrator duo!

Book 3 in the series. This is as great or even better than the other two. BUT you need to listen to the other 2 to understand this story. I strongly suggest you grab all 3. Skye Mackinba really knows how to write a story that will grab your fantasy’s , your imagination and life this story . This world.

Laurel Schroeder was simply amazing. I love her voice doing all the characters. It makes you feel like your right in the story right beside her .

This is book 3 about Wyn. Wyn heart is broken. Feeling sad, heartbroken, depressed, not knowing what way to turn. Wyn has to deal with her grief by a why that only she knows how .
Once Wyn comes to turn and deals with her grief, she really takes charge and goes full steam ahead. Wyn takes charge for Beira . Now that Wyn has gotten strong with her powers she knows how to deal with letting her guardians back . Crisper finally tells Wyn what the Morrigan did to him . Wyn Ned’s to find a way to deal with it

This story was full of actions and excitement

Book three gives us more of Wyn's story and keeps us getting to know her guardians a little better. I love each one with their very different personalities. As we get more of Crispin and Frost, we find Wyn's mother still weakened and Wyn getting ready to win the impending war. Wyn goes through a lot of things in this part of the book, dealing with the death of her human mother, drugged with unicorn sparklies, and finding the strength to save her realm. There is a a great breakthrough with Crispin and each of the guardians enjoys their time with Wyn. Skye MacKinnon writes this story with passion and emotions, giving the listener a thorough workout! I am hoping we get to conquer the Morrigan soon,Wyn certainly deserves her happily ever after with her men!

Laurel Schroeder continues her amazing narration of this saga. It's full of characters, and Laurel is so professional that you can go from book to book and know the voice of each character. Her consistency and ability to act out the emotional pulls in this story make it a phenomenal listen.

I received a free copy of book 1 a few months ago for an honest review. Obviously, I liked it, that's why I'm posting a review for book 3. Anyways, I rarely buy books/audiobooks, I normally request free copies of interesting-sounding books for reviews from random places. Needless to say, I bought books 2 and 3, and am about to purchase book 4 now. I think this book went the fastest out of the series. It's like I started listening and suddenly it was done. Unlike the majority of my reviews, I have no questions; I didn't find any inconsistencies or whatnot like I usually do. That's a good thing!

The narrator did an awesome job as always. She has such a beautiful, interesting...beautiful voice. Yeah.

Questions/Comments:

I thought it interesting that Wyn wants to punish herself for what happened to her mom, yet she’s been taking the sparklies which make her feel good...

Wyn is surprised that using cold air and then blowing wind against the Chrispin lookalike doesn’t work.

This series just gets better and better. This book is full of excitement and just what I would expect from Skye and this series! It takes Wyn thru the gamut of emotions, grief, anger, despair, worry, heartbreak, bliss, joy, love, friendship... just on and on. While her mother is weaked from another Wyn power blow-up, she has to step up and lead the Winter Realm. Her guardian bonds and her powers are growing and changing, she just has to get a handle on them, as the war is getting closer. They now have new information and new alliances and finally a plan...
I thought this was the last book in the series as I was reading and thinking something big must be coming...and a very welcome surprise - a fourth book! Yay!

This third installment was an emotional rollercoaster! It was filled with action, grief, happiness, responsibility, steamy scenes, and so much more. I believe this book shows Wyn at her lowest which is heartbreaking and I love that she is able to move on, accept her role, and protect her kingdom. Skye did an amazing job writing Wyn’s emotions in this book and you could feel everything right along with her. While the relationships with Wyn’s men continues to grow, I love that they are always there to support and protect her.
Laurel did an amazing job narrating another book in this series! She brought all of the action and Wyn’s emotions to life.

There is so much for Wyn to still learn, and it seems that the war is fast approaching. Can they possibly be ready in time? Will Wyn's magic be reliable enough if it's put to the challenge? How will Arc, Storm, Frost and Crispin's connection with Wyn go? I loved the passion between Wyn and her men, the dramas they face and how determine they all are to pull things together. Although Wyn isn't perfect, she has her doubts and times when she doesn't always make the right decisions, but I think this makes her more approachable and who doesn't love some imperfections? I can't wait till the next book comes, bring it on.

First person pov, winter queen Realm, mostly hea, though clearly an unfinished story, with, I think, 2 more books in the series. This is NOT the final book in the serie. Maybe 3 -4 chili peppers. Audiobook. There is some good character development on Win’s part. It’s clear the other characters are just side characters. The story seems to develop rather slowly, but I suppose with only 5 hours in each book, there is just not much there. I like how it touches on numerous mythologies, though it would be fun to hear a little more about the different ones. The story at this point is very clearly just about Win, and everything else is only included as it pertains to her, not as a part of the overall world. Win’s story is good, just don’t expect too much else.

I absolutely love this series! I love Wyn and her four Guardians. But this book broke my heart at the beginning with Wyn dealing with her grief, or not dealing with it really. Grief is hard for everyone but to be expected to rule and deal with approaching war? Not easy and sometimes the easiest is to be frozen, emotionless. And this is what she does, with bursts of anger. What i liked best is she doesn't magically get fixed but ahe becomes more like herself and leans on her guardian's for support. Angus and The Morrigan are still out there but Wyn gets unexpected Allies... Also expect more in this series with Winter Goddess. Can't get enough of this series!

This is the third book in this fantastic RH Series, The Daughter of Winter. The story continues, with Wyn and her guardians Arc, Crispin, Storm, and Frost. They share an undeniable and beautiful chemistry. Their bound gets stronger book after book, and we learn more about them. The storyline is well written, intricate, fast-paced, action packed, and captivating! There are many interesting, strong, and intriguing characters in this story. Now, I can't wait for the next and last book in the Series, Winter Goddess! Laurel Schroeder did another amazing narration. She has the perfect voice for this Series!

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Winter Queen by Skye MacKinnon, the third book in the Daughter of Winter series. This was supposed to be a trilogy, but the series has taken a left turn into a broader and more complex storyline. As war continues to inch closer, Wynter has been forced into playing a much larger role. Her powers are continuing to develop and she now faces the task of gathering allies and determining who she can trust. I am really enjoying the way this series has developed. Wynter continues to surprise and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Wynters break

This has been the best book so far, there is no slow pacing at all through this book each chapter has its own excitement whether it be sexual, drama, death, suspense, you name it it's in this book. This is one of those books that leaves you on the edge of your seat the entire time, you feel wynter's pain as if it's your own, you feel her frustration, you feel her nervousness, her embarrassment, you feel her shutting herself off to the world you feel the coldness that she allows. This is that book you will never forget.

This is the third book I the series and I suggest if you have not read the other two you go back and read them first as they are so good and it will really get you into the right space. This book picks up just after the darkest time in Wynter’s life. It really throws you into all her emotions and even through they are heart breaking moments she still has this ability to make you giggle and look at life in such a quirky way. Love reading this series.

This story starts with Wyn dealing with her grief. You really feel her grief. One of my favorite this about this authors stories is that you feel the emotions the characters are going through. Once Wyn gets her head back in the game, she has to take over for Beira. I liked seeing her take charge and really come into her own. I also really liked seeing her and Crispin address his issues - I thought it was handled beautifully. The story ends on a bit of an edge, and I was really excited to see that we are going to get a 4th book in the series!

Winter Queen is the third book in the series and was just as good as the first two. We also now know the dangers of unicorn sparklies. Don’t get addicted to those.
Wyn is grieving for her adopted mother, but she has to get past the worst of her grief to help her Guardians and her realm. Once she does, man the steam comes off the pages from her makeups with her Guardians. Wyn also realizes her strength as a princess and takes on the role with great courage.
The ending was a shocker. What has Wyn become? What does it mean?
Amazing magic, steamy romance, evil goddess, need I say more?

War is imminent. Allies are secured. Queen Beira is frail and the future of the realm and the lives of its citizens, including Wyn's loved ones, is now in her very inexperienced hands. If she makes mistakes, people will perish. As the pressure to succeed mounts, a new stronger and more determined Wyn evolves. When she realizes three of her beloved Guardians are in deadly peril, she becomes the true ruling monarch that she was meant to be. This story continues to intrigue and captivate me. It's always surprising me with new developments. Great Read!!!

What just happened! I was so engrossed in the story I didn’t realize it was almost over. When it ended I started banging on my steering wheel no no no! This series just gets better with every book, the characters more developed ,new allies are formed Wyn’s magic gets stronger, It’s crazy good and other then being so mad it ended I highly recommend it. If you have ever listen to Laurel Schroeder you already know the narration is amazing. Especially when she does Arc, Wyn has three other guardians, can I have him? If you haven’t listened to one of Laurel’s books why not?

Winter Queen is book three of the Daughter of Winter series and it picks up where book two left off. I definitely recommend you read the first two books before reading this one otherwise you will be lost. Wyn goes through a lot in this action packed reverse harem romance and with every twist and turn this story gets better and better. The writing is good and after that ending I can't wait to read the next book in this series to find out what happens next. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This has got to be the best book in the Wynter series. Skye MacKinnon has outdone herself. All I can say is wow, between the heartbreaking grief, the love of Wyn and her guardians, and the change to Wyn this book was an emotional rollercoaster. I loved everything about this book. Especially the surprise at the end. READ THIS BOOK! You won't regret it.

This book has so many up and downs and feelings all over the place. In the beginning wyn has shut down all of her emotions becasue she can't deal with anymore. Then biera is sick and wyn must take over ruling the winter realm. So much happens but I don't want to give anything away. We also meet some other gods which is fun. Wyn really grows in this book becoming more confident in her new life. Love this series so much can't wait for the next book.

Yes!! What a great story! I am so glad it isn't over. I don't want to say goodbye yet. I love Wyn. She has to learn to let her guardians back in after the death of her mother; when all she wants to do is forget. Crispin has revealed everything that the Morrigan did to him and is afraid of how Wyn will respond. So much happens in this book and I don't want to give away anything. You have to read this book. So amazing.
