November is on the right track to success, and she looks forward to living the lifestyle she always dreamed she’d have as an advertising agent. After suffering through countless roommates and ending up in and out of her parents’ home while in school, her dream condo is within her grasp; but a few weeks before closing, she totals her car. She is sure bad luck has returned to her life, until she meets Tracy Stone, who offers her a solution. That offer leads to a whirlwind romance that takes November by surprise.
Charming, dark, handsome, and well-off, Tracy seems to be the perfect man, until he reveals himself to be a little more jealous and controlling than November would like. Excusing his behavior as deep love for her, she marries him, only to learn that this tall, dark, and handsome guy has some demons that could eventually ruin their marriage and derail her happily-ever-after for good.

This was an interesting story....Tracy had a lot of trust issues because of his mother's & ex-girlfriend's infidelities....Tracy kind of put poor November through it, but through it all....the bottom line was that she really loved him. It did take this book a while for this couple to get to their HEA because of all the outlandish things Tracy was paying people to do simply to ensure that November really loved him. It took a while, but this couple finally found their way.
I dont know, any woman alive that would have put up with ALL the issues that Tracy had. At times, they were entirely too much. I know that true love exists, but WOW, I am a woman that would have run away with Tracy's behavior. November was truly a STRONG woman, who loved this man Tracy thru all of his issues. Wished he would have gotten help much sooner, before taking her thru all those trials and tribulations. He finally got some sense talked into him, in realizing what he stood to lose forever. Well written book. Loving te Standalone... I will read more works by Anna Black
The story line was interesting. However, this book really annoyed me. I just don't understand why black women have to be portrayed in this manor. Black women should not have to endure pain, insecurity, controlling/obsessive behavior from a man , and manipulation to prove their love for to them . I honestly would have preferred for November to find peace/happiness without having to endure what she did with Tracy. Like his character really didn't change until the very end after all the turmoil he put November through. I woman should never have to beg/cry/plead for a man to change or trust her.
Tracy is awful. I understand that he’s been through things but, a relationship is the last thing he should have searched for. Senselessly hurting innocent people. Then Shareese. I just think that she’s a fool, coupled with her low self esteem. She’s a a walking doormat. I’m so happy this is over. This is the first book by this author that I could not wait to be over. The story was a bit too preachy and pandering at times. I just didn’t enjoy it. I don’t believe anyone Should remain with someone that treats their spouse like Tracy did. No exceptions.
November is on the right track to success, and she looks forward to living the lifestyle she always dreamed she’d have as an (advertising agent). Excusing his behavior as deep love for her, she marries him, only to learn that this tall, dark, and handsome guy has some demons that could eventually ruin their marriage and derail her happily-ever-after for good. His father was killed by his wife’s lover and 2 of Trey’s exes cheated on him. He even sets her up with one of his buddies to see if she’ll cheat. Professional help is what aides them
I know there are women out there who will follow a man to hell and back but I can’t. The things that November continuously put up with were beyond me. Tracey, although fine and rich, was severely unstable and almost unhinged. Very much a selfish, jealous narcissist that only loved his wife as far as he could see her. He was big time projecting and she should’ve left him long before it got completely out of control. Even with therapy he was only making his behavior and not doing the real work. In the end, yes he did a good deed but do I think he’s completely reformed and has truly learned to value her, no. That one act was not redeeming enough cause he was crazy the whole book.
I thought it was cool. It definitely put me into a shock when the major events happened. I feel like it could've been better if November had left Tracy since it feels like the author is saying to put up with men's insanity to have a better life. While they do get better, it kinda feels like the author wants us to suffer in relationships if we want things to work out. But the stunts Tracy pulls are too ridiculous and actually psychopathic. But they're happy and the word Hot Juice is used to replaced cum.
Wow November was a strong woman she deserves the happiness she have. Tracy is a good man that was damages early in life. People need to realize your action can affect others
I enjoyed reading the book. But wanted to warn others that it may be a trigger for anyone who has been in a domestic violence situation. I kept expecting Tracy to completely loose it and hurt November.
This was truly an Awesome novel to read during the summer 😊
I'm glad that the lead characters were able to overcome all of the challenges that every relationship faces. Especially Trusting & Communicating with each other is the major factors that holds relationships together ❤
I absolutely did not like Tracy and his abusive behaviors. I was too fond of November for constantly making excuses for his behaviors. Everybody in this book was just trash. I kept hoping some type of growth would come to either MC, but in my opinion nothing changed. Ugh...
I did not like Tracy's character! His insecurity was absolutely disgusting. November was very sweet and patient. I'm glad she was able to get her own business, get married and have children. I feel like she could've done better without Tracy.
This book was so awesome! I finished it in one day, I could not put it down. I so loved everything about this book. Anna Black makes you think Love is the key to everything! A must read.
it was a good read. and in ways I could relate, my boyfriend would throw a fit if I didn't call him the second I got off work. he'd call 3 minutes after my shift ended and if I didn't answer or bother to call on my lunches or breaks I was up to no good. only difference from me and November, I wasn't havin that and I demanded a change rather than suggesting it. had November had some backbone, Tracey would not have been as bad. she allowed his excessive, poor behavior time and time again. therefore she welcomed his controlling ways. say what you mean, and mean what you say. in my eyes she is just as foolish and to blame for just letting her husband run her and think that being man of the house means what he says goes. had she hardened up, put her foot down and acted just as strong as she is ambitious she could've had her shit together long before, but then again the story probably would have been cut short so I guess (eyeroll)
Oct 202: I made it half way through the book and stopped reading. It was very boring, there seemed to be no climax.
July 2023 Update: I picked this book up not even remembering that I tried to read it before. This time around, this book was really good. The story line was good and the love story was relatable.
