This story is about Namoi and her husband Percy. In the first book relearn a little bit about Naomi and the way her husband treats her. He does hurt her and likes to visit the saloon a lot.

Naomi has had enough of his abuse and heads to the next town over. Her friend sheriff Washington loves her and wants to help herb will she let him.

Once she gets to the new town how will she be treated. What about the secret she is holding? She vows not to let Percy hurt her again.

This author knows how to write book and this one is no disappointment. I enjoyed learning more about Naomi and what she had to endure.

I received a copy of this book for review consideration

EVEN IN THE WILD WEST WOMEN WHO HAD BEEN ABUSED BY MEN, FALLS FOR SAME KIND, WHILE A GREAT WONDERFUL LOVING STRONG MAN STANDS & WAITS FOR HER !

Oh Leah Laurens definitely 5 STARS for your Mail Order Bride : Saved by the Sheriff (Ladies of the Frontier) (A Western Romance Book) because the subject matter of abused wives and them leaving their husbands has been hit as well as the nail with the hammer on its head. Everything is there finding the best time to leave, not leaving any clues to where they are going, they are always bruised up 99% of the time, with little or no money and they carry fear with them. Naomi was lucky enough that Sheriff Glen Washington had been her friend and had arranged a place in a different town for her so she just ran to him and said I need to go now, and he took time off and went with her to help get her settled in, then since he had fallen in love with her over time hated to leave and return back. She went looking for a job, met a man who was the #2 in a Factory that did hire Women she had tried but it was hard to get on, but he just woed her, gave her a job and was taking her out to lunch and out to dinner, yes another man who if you told him NO he would get mad but she had to learn her lesson because she just refused to listen to other women warning her or Glen (she passed it off as jealousy). Leah Laurens described perfectly the way a man would act in simple ways but clear unencumbered ways how a man can easily set a woman at ease but slowly pull her in almost like a fish on his line but with definite control and show of anger if refused usually gets him what he wants. For instance, in the book Silas had just purchased and had delivered an antique 4 poster bed in his bedroom he was trying to get Naomi to look at these types of men think ahead, tell women they love them usually after they beat them. If Silias had not accidentally left his back door unlocked Glen would not have gotten in in time before she had been ravaged in that 4 poster. The boarding house had great lovable people in it. We also meet Naomi's sister for a brief time because she had left her husband also and came to stay with her but after she lost her job and the sister received a letter from Fred that he was sorry he loved her and would not ever do it again Yes, she went back the one thing we know she should not have done. The pure shining love from Sheriff Glen Washington just comes through the pages at you brighter because of negative but a great book. A writer who seems to know her subject.

My review today is on the Western Romance, Saved by the Sheriff. This is one of the books in the Ladies of the Frontier Series. This book was sent to me to read. I wasn't required to review it but I like to help fellow authors. This book is well written and intriguing.

Naomi Holden is trapped in an abusive marriage. She tells her husband she wants a divorce but he refuses to agree and beats her badly. Her friends help her to escape. The sheriff escorts her to a town several hours away. She tries to find work but no one would hire a married woman. She faints from hunger and is rescued by a good looking man that offers her a job.

Sheriff Glenn Washington is in love with Naomi but there is nothing he can do to help her but keep her safe. He escorts Naomi to Blisspeak. He stays a while to make sure Percy hasn't followed them and that Naomi is safe. He returns home but after a few days he finds out Percy has left town so he returns to Blisspeak only to find Naomi is enamored with another man.

A struggle of two people trying to stay out of the hands of two evil men set on possessing Naomi. God has a plan for these people a good plan and not for evil. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your heart, make Him Lord of your life, and watch Him turn your life around.

Another enjoyable story

It is always nice to see love win out over abuse and cruelty. This story has well built characters that, with a couple of exceptions, you can’t help but like. The ones you don’t like don’t deserve to be liked! They are most definitely the villains they appear to be. But when all is said and done, love always wins! The secondary characters are all just the sort of friends one would wish to have, caring and concerned. I wouldn’t mind living in Blisspeak myself.
There are a few editorial mistakes that seem to be common to most e-books. Spell check alone doesn’t catch everything. The one thing I found annoying was the frequent chapter breaks. It seemed like every time the story shifted in any way, it warranted a new chapter, which involved 4 unnecessary page flips. When they happen every 10 pages, it gets old fast. It interrupts everything.

Leah Laurens has another hit on her hands and much like her last one, she handles the subject of spousal abuse. Unlike her previous books, she also touches on harrassment in the workplace. Both subjects are constantly in the news today, but they have been around for a long time. Fortunately, in Saved by the Sheriff, Naomi had friends such as Sheriff Glenn Washington and her landlady to protect her when she decided to get away from the abuse. Leah Laurens handles these delicate subjects with skill.

I received a free copy of this book for my honest review.

This book was ok but definitely not my favorite and not something I would have sought out in the bookstore. They all follow the same pattern where there is something wrong in the couple's life and then they make up but fight again. The sheriff in this one was sheriff in one town but followed Naomi to another town where he stayed to watch over her. I had trouble wrapping my head around how he could stay away from his town this longI received a free copy of this book for my honest review.

Lots of drama, suspense, and new beginnings after years of martial abuse. The main characters are well written and have great backstories, though I had a really hard time feeling any real connection or empathy toward Naomi, after having endured her treachery and crocodile tears in the previous book, A Bride in Hiding...
Sheriff Washington is a sweet character, compassionate, if a bit naive and a sucker for a damsel in distress....

Ok read

This did not turnout to be what I was expecting. Am not fond of reading about abuse toward women. No surprises.
Happy ending. Would rethink the title.

Another hit from Leah Laurens

Sheriff Washington has promised to protect Naomi from her abusive husband, Percy. But can he really do it? He helps her escape to another town, only for Percy to follow a few days later. He is going to stop Percy when there is an explosion in town. He has to take care of the town he has sworn to protect, but can he get to Naomi in time to protect her from Percy?
This a quick read full of many twists and turns. It is a great book!
