Keep Me #3

Watching Her

Rate this book
I like watching. It's kind of my thing. But who knew that being a voyeur, watching two lovers from my hotel room balcony, would lead to me witnessing a murder. I know I should have called the police and turned the pretty assassin in with a one-way ticket to jail. That would have been the moral thing to do, right? Well, I've never been one to follow the rules. So, I decide to follow this beautiful murderer and find out what made her pull the trigger. However, once I learn the cold, hard truth, I might be the next one who ends up in her crosshairs. ** Watching Her is book 3 of the Keep Me Series. It can be read as a standalone; however, the author recommends reading books 1 and 2 first. *** This novel deals with sensitive subjects, contains violent scenes, dubious content and adult subject matter that may cause triggers for some readers. -- Keep Me Series Reading Order -- Keeping Her (Lucien and Adeline's story - part 1) Saving Him (Lucien and Adeline's story - part 2) Watching Her (Jackson and Katya's story)

Wowza! Jackson was just W-O-W! He was such an adorable dork with the right amount of sexiness and lots of sweet appeal. Honestly, what I loved the most about him was that he didn’t behave like an overbearing alpha and was always happy to be there for those that trusted him. The story itself was intense, exciting, and gripping. Although this is the 3rd book in the series and it’s set parallel to the first two, it can still be read as a standalone. Be warned though, you’re going to want to read the first two once you get to know Jax.
So, despite his kinks and voyeurism, Jax has some personal issues that prevent him from truly loving someone. It isn’t until he meets strong, determined Katya, a woman with her own dark past, that he allows himself to develop feelings for someone.
Katya is my kind of heroine: self-reliant, clever, and compassionate. Of course she could also be stubborn but overall she was understanding and was able to keep a level head at the most critical times.
In short, Jax and Katya are now in my top 5 favorite couples, and I totally recommend this book.

*** I received this book at no cost to me and I volunteered to read it; this is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.**

We barely got a glimpse of Katya in the Keeping Her/Saving Him duet, so I was looking forward to reading her entire story and the author didn't disappoint. Jackson was a wonderfully strong yet quirky character in Lucien and Adeline's story, where we see him just starting to incorporate Katya into their lives on the island. In this story, Jax and Katya's sexually-charged relationship gets the full treatment.

Katya's backstory is as heartbreaking as any, and her actions are completely sympathetic, even if it takes quite a while before Jax is privy to the details. He knows instantly that things are different with her, but he doesn't quite know what to do with that. Meanwhile, he's busy keeping Lucien alive and focusing on rescuing Adeline so Katya doesn't get a chance to figure out just what she means to him.

The bulk of this book's timeline runs concurrently with Saving Him, so you'll probably want to read that duet to get the full story. Even so, we're given enough information here to make this book a standalone. This was a rare book in that I found myself actually wanting the love scenes to wrap up quickly - even though they're beautifully done and significantly add to the characters' expression of their emotions - because I was on the edge of my seat throughout and just couldn't wait to see how all the suspense was going to play out.

The conclusion was shocking, but understandable. The HEA was perfect - a wonderful resolution for all the main characters. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I liked the plot and storyline for this book, thought it sounded right up my alley, and it said it could be read as a standalone, so I thought ok. And they're right, it CAN be read as a standalone, I wasn't lost or anything...but I could also tell that I was missing some background information on the characters. I like knowing all the details of a book, so it made me wish I'd read the other books first.
It was a good story though, it was written well and had lots of action and it was sexy and suspenseful. I'll probably go back and read the other books just as soon as I have the time!

I didn’t love this book, mostly because it was a complete repeat of book 2. While it was nice to get Jackson’s POV, it was pretty much the same book. There’s a little twist near the end where Katya finally reunites with some of her family, but it’s over quickly. I didn’t really feel like I could connect with these 2 characters as much as I did with Luc & Adeline. Maybe because most of the book was still focused on them since the first half is nursing Luc back to health and stressing over Adeline, then the second half is traveling to America to rescue Adeline. I definitely thought the Epilogue could have been better, I mean Luc was ready to propose a few months after meeting Adeline. It’s hard to believe that Jackson still hadn’t proposed to Katya after 2 years? I mean what did they all do for 2 years? Still focus on Adeline and Luc (who were also the main focus of the epilogue too!)!!

A story that is absolutely not what I expected. It is better. It is well written and the characters likeable and well described. The storyline and plot are nice. The story is steamy, filled with pain, trust issues, passion, hot chemistry, broken souls, attraction and emotional ups and downs. Unexpected twists. I like it but sometimes it felt rushed for me. It is captivating because of the hint of darkness. That makes it a bit different.
I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. Enjoyable read. I like you get an update of the characters from the previous stories. This is the last of a series of three. A good way to finishing it of.

Watching Her by Angela Snyder a five-star read that you will want to keep an eye on. This is the third book in the Keep me series, it can be read as stand-alone but I would recommend you read the series in order as you will get the most out of it that way. Jax isn’t always the most likable person, but you will warm to him understand where he is coming from and once you do, you will like him so much more. It’s a similar thing with Katya when you get her story it’s a little out there, but if you just remind yourself that you are escaping reality for a little and allow yourself you get into the story it all falls into place. Angela Snyder is a great writer and this series goes from strength to strength.

This was a good conclusion to the Keep Me Series as well as a great story for Jax that can be read as a standalone story. He was such a great character in Lucian and Adeline's story it made me curious about him. After learning his story as well as Katya's story they made a great pair with their troubled pasts. Their story had me hooked from the start and the story line moved along well at just the right pace considering the events that take place in the book. I enjoyed this book from the start and would recommend it to others.

It has been a long waiting for this book to arrive and I was getting restless. I mean, when you want answers and the book doesn't arrive you start to get a bit crazy, right?
But when I saw this book waiting for me on my Kindle I was beyond happy. Well happy and so much more...
Angela Snyder has a way with words that can make you blush, laugh, get scared or even terrified. Each story is unique and special with a twist into the darkness.
Watching Her is her latest release and it's the third book from the Keep Me Series.
Yummy cover...
This book explores the lifes of Jackson and Katya.
But I need to tell you something. Despite this book is a standalone, you should read the first two books from this series. Get into the story and then you'll understand this new book better.
Jackson has a kinky side, he's a voyeur that takes pleasure in watching others. But one day that desire brings him more than he barged for.
Katya is a reserved woman that don't trust easily. Her childhood was marked by a father that lost everything gambling but the ultimate betrayal was that he had bet a precious thing and lost the bet. But how can I talk more without spoil?
Dayum... What a book... Hell, what a series. You have to read all books.
Amazing plot, very well written, super engaging, mysterious and dark. The interation between the characters is beautiful, raw, bumpy and so much more. Behind all their layers hides some pretty dark souls.
Freaking hot scenes that will make you take a few cold showers.
The story progressed in a way that made me mad, scared, furious and nervous as well as in love and super happy.
Once I started to read this book I simply couldn't put it down. I couldn't because the need to know was impregnated on my mind.
Angela, Angela, Angela... What can I say?
I didn't like this book, I freaking loved it and I can't wait for more books from you. You nailed it with this series.

After reading Keeping Her and then Saving Him, I was eager to get my hands on an advance copy of Jax's story which takes place somewhat concurrently. It was great to revisit this book world and catch up with Lucian, Adeline and Jax, and to finally see how Katya fit into the picture. I loved Jax's character since the very beginning and I’ve been impatient for him to finally get his happily ever after. He’s intelligent, competent and just a touch cocky, a guy with a big heart who will do anything for those he loves, but not without his own bit of quirk and a softer, vulnerable side.

My only issue was with Katya’s character. First of all, referring to her treatment by the man she was forced to marry as occurring through “dubious consent" is thickly candy coating things and it was highly implausible a woman who had been treated so badly would allow or enjoy any form of hitting or discipline in a consensual sexual relationship. Secondly, she was very nearly irredeemable due to her game playing, manipulation and selfishness. Katya had a way of viewing any situation as being all about her, whether it was Lucian's phobias, finding Adeline, or interactions with Jax. I would have liked her character better if she had been a bit more mature, insightful and considerate.

In spite of Katya's shortcomings, I really enjoyed this story. It wasn’t quite as dark and heavy as Luc and Adeline’s story, but there was still plenty of intense drama, and the book easily grabbed my attention at the very beginning and held it throughout. I read it in one sitting and it was over before I knew it. It was great to see Jax find his forever love, and the epilogue was absolutely perfect. If I hadn’t already been in love with these characters, I would have fallen for them after reading it. Although you could read this book on its own, I think the best reading experience will come from starting with the first book and reading through the series back to back, which I plan to do the next time I reread this fantastic series.

Watching Her is the perfect finish to this series. It's emotive, compelling and addictive.

Jackson aka Jax is a voyeur and it's the very thing that changes his life. Completely! His childhood issues have led him to believe that he can't get close to anyone. Until now!

Katya's fate was sealed at the tender age of sixteen by her father. When her ten year plan comes to fruition, she gets caught and feels like she is back to square one.

Jax and Katya's first encounter is far from ideal. They are both on the defensive. He doesn't understand her drastic action and she doesn't trust him. Well, neither does he. She soon finds out that her current situation is nothing like her previous one, but she remains on her guard. She also has plans and little does she know that he is on to her.

Despite being on dodgy grounds with each other, there is a pull between them that's hard to resist. Little by little, they divulge their pasts and Katya's experiences are traumatic, but it has made her stronger in many ways. Jax is still apprehensive about relationships until Katya is in danger and the thought of anything happening to her brings him to his senses.

Although, this could be read as a standalone, some parts overlap with the previous book. I like the fact that Lucien's and Adeline's crisis is seen through Jax's eyes. It brings out his insecurities as well as his love and loyalty. The romance between Jax and Katya is tentative to begin with, but once they realise the depth of their attraction, it's electrifying. This is a dark novel and it has it all. Overall, a smashing series. Loved it.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

Great conclusion to the Keep Me series! I have loved Jackson from the very first book! I always felt like he was a very protective person. He has such a huge heart and seems to be looking out for everyone! Katya entered his world at just the right time! She was there to keep his mind on other things while Lucien and Adeline were in trouble. She also made him see something about himself that he was unwilling to acknowledge before, which then made it possible for him to recognize the real value of his feeling for Adeline before he had to be heartbroken over her marrying Lucien, as she was meant to. And Jackson now has the opportunity to have his own precious gem to take care of, and after all she has been though, Katya deserves to be taken care of by a caring and protective man. The love that blooms between the 2 lost souls is fantastic to see. They find each other when they both feel like their whole worlds are being tilted. I love these 2 together. And just by seeing Katya and hearing her story you just KNOW that she and Adeline could be the best of friends, making for one huge happy family. They both come from similar backgrounds, but also from different ends of the mafia worlds. Jax and Lucien sure know how to pick them! These characters are lovable, addicting, and really really entertaining to follow. The series as a whole was also great! Absolutely one that I would recommend to my friends.

Having read and enjoyed Lucien and Adeline's story I wanted to find out more about Jackson and the mysterious Katya. The book starts of with quite a dark scene which is followed by some dark themes in the earlier parts of the story. However we don't experience these events first hand so the book itself doesn't feel too dark.

I really liked Jackson in the previous books, he did annoy me towards the end of this BUT he was meant to. He behaves like a complete fool, though thankfully he more than redeems himself. Katya is a wonderful heroine, she seemed to get over 10 years of hell fairly swiftly and, whilst I personally would have liked to see her work through this, anything else would not have been the story the author wanted to share. I enjoyed the dynamic between Jax and Katya, their emotions felt genuine and I believed in their connection.

The story had good pace and I my attention was totally absorbed by it. I found the book easy to read and liked the style of writing. The prose flows smoothly, has descriptions that are good but not too long, you always know who's pov it is or who is speaking.

I loved how this story wove around parts of Saving Her but from a very different perspective. The author did an excellent job of making this readable as a standalone, without ruining the previous duet. I'm sure once you've read this book you'll be curious about Adeline and Lucien's story, which I highly recommend you read.

I read this book as part of an arc program. I loved this story as much as I loved the first two books in this series. This is Jackson's story, but it is told from his point of view with events of the prior books, but you don't have to read them first, but I would strongly recommend them, they are great and the back story does help. This book starts with Jackson watching a couple have sex on a hotel balcony across from his hotel Jackson then witnesses the woman killing the man. Jackson knows something isn't right and he follows the woman and catches her, only to have to kidnap her and return to the island with her when other events take place. Jackson is curious about the woman and he wants to know why she killed the man. Katya has had a difficult past and she sees an opportunity to escape from her torture, so she takes it only to find herself kidnapped by another man and she has no idea if she is in more danger. Katya is attracted to Jackson, but he is keeping his distance from her and with the events on the island taking his attention, she has no idea what her future will be. I loved this book, it had me hooked from the start. Jackson is a funny guy but he has so many issues, as well as the stress of finding Adeline and saving Lucien. This book has lots of heat between Jackson and Katya, as well as lots of danger and drama. I loved reading Jackson's story and learning his history. I would love to see Wraith get his story too. Great series.

Jackson’s point of view starting when Adeline is stolen from the island and Lucien is injured. The night before, Jax is on the mainland in a hotel watching some people across the way onsite things on a balcony. Then he watches the woman shoot the man and take off. He follows her and grabs her. He drugs her and takes her to the island but all the shit has hit the fan when he gets there. So he has to lock her in Adeline’s old room to keep an eye on her. Turns out she shot her husband who had been holding her captive for ten years after her father used her as collateral in a poker game with the Russian Bratva. Jax and Katya start to like each other and she finally tells him about the brutality she went through. Then Adeline’s watch boots up so off to the US they all go.
In the hospital, Katy as long lost sister shows up. She seems like a badass. Katya reluctantly goes with her but then figures out that the sister is planning to turn her in to the bratva. Jax had put a goa tracker in her anklet so he finds her. A shootout happens. Katyas sister is dead. Jax brings her back to the hospital and then eventually they all go back to the island. In the end, it’s almost two years later. Adeline has had her baby and it’s time for Lucian and Adeline’s wedding. Adeline finds out she’s pregnant and tells Lucian in her vows. After, Katya freaks out and Jax finds her crying because she is also pregnant. But he’s very happy and they get engaged right there and hea the end.

Carla's Five Star Review

Watching Her is the third book in the Keep Me Series, and it is Jackson's story. While this can be read as a stand alone, I suggest reading the other books in the series first to get a better understanding of the characters and their backgrounds.

We first met Jackson in book one of this series, and I fell in love with him from the very start! To me, he is the perfect man. He is just as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. He is super protective of those he cares about, and there isn't anything he wouldn't do for them. When Katya enters his life, she turns his world upside down. At first glance, Katya appears fierce, but Jackson can see the pain in her pretty eyes, and he is determined to help her. What follows is a story of fated loved and self discovery.

I loved this book/series. As you read each of these stories, you will be completely drawn into the world that these amazing characters reside in! Fingers crossed that we get Wraith's story soon!

A must read book/series!

How can you not love Jackson?

What a great conclusion to the Keep Me series, not only do we get Jackson's story we also get more insight into Lucien and Adeleine.

Jackson is Lucien's cousin, but they're close, more like brothers. Jackson is very different to Lucien, he has got his kinks but his very compassionate and loyal to those that deserve his friendship and trust.

Katya is Jackson's love interest and her history is dark. If anything Katya seems very put together after going through so much, I'm putting that down to Jacksons caring ways, even though she didn't have a choice to begin with!

Jackson and Katya's story is taking place through the second half of book 2 in the series, it adds another level to the previous book if you've read them. You possibly could read this book on its own BUT much better to read the whole series in my opinion.

So now the author has completed these stories, I'm left wondering about Wraith the bodyguard, I'm sure he needs a book!

A good dark romance, recommended read.

If you are into books that will captivate you right from the first page
than this is really a must for you.
To get the best out of this book read the two before this one because
It has the same characters through all three of them.
Jackson has left the Island for awhile. When He was looking out the window
over to another hotel he could see right into the room where he could see everything
That was going on by the way that is his thing looking at people who are having a good time
He did not count on seeing some one getting shot.
Katya was sold to Pavel to pay her fathers gambling debts.
She was with him for 6 years until she had the change of getting away from him.
Katya finally had her chance to get away but she had to get rid of Pavel first.
Well that is how this story starts of if you want to know all the twists and turns of this
book you are going to have to read it yourself because I don't want to spoil the plot for
you

Great book! You get sucked right in. Ive read the first 2 books in the series so it was great to see them from Jackson’s point of view now. His story kept me interested since the beginning. I guess you don’t have to read the the whole series to read this but it just enhances the whole experience. Angela writes a great story. Yes its dark and twisted but good. Katya has had a hard life when she runs into him and she’s trying to escape. Jackson has no clue what he’s doing except that he’s curious about her. This leads to the storylines intertwining from books 1 & 2. Katya tries to survive unknowing what Jackson’s motives are. Shes been through enough and will do whatever to survive a little bit longer. Jackson has never known true feelings. Everything in his life has been superficial. Can something real happen or will it all be a game? I read this book voluntarily for an honest review. I have read multiple books by Angela Snyder and look forward to reading more of her work. Enjoy!

I just finished reading a review copy of Watching Her and this is my freely given, honest opinion. Watching Her is the story of Jackson. He's Luc's cousin from Keeping Her. Watching Her begins during Saving Him and if you haven't read either of those books, I highly recommend doing so because the characters appear throughout the series and you will be a a loss as a reader on the intricate relationships of the characters. We were introduced to Katya in Saving Him but Jax was very evasive of Katya's story and when you read Watching Her, you will understand why. Jax has a different set of issues from Luc but as Katya tells him, don't we all. Katya grew up in Russia as the oldest daughter of a gambling addict. He sold his daughter to pay his debts and it was an extremely high price that Katya paid. She has finally freed herself after 10 years as a captive only to be caught by Jax. Jax was watching Katya and saw something that concerns and intrigues him so he chases after Katya. Problems occur back with Luc so rather then leave Katya, he drugs her and takes her with him. Now if I tell you any more about the story, I will ruin your reading experience so I will tell you that this book has some dark themes, intrigue, suspense, sexy encounters and happiness. There is no cliffhanger, the book in written in dual POV and all of your questions will be answered. There is one secondary character that I would love to see get a story so who knows what will happen? Watching Her is a solid 4 1/2 stars in my opinion and I highly recommend it.

I've been looking forward to Jacksons story and the reasons why he risked bringing Katya to the island. Although Watching Her is about a separate couple to the first two books in this series, I'd recommend reading the others first. Their story intertwines and there are definitely spoilers given if you were going to go back and read Lucien's and Adeline's book after.

There are dark themes to this book, but the focus is more on Jax and Katya's growing relationship and the trust they need to build for each other. They have both had troubled pasts, particularly Katya, her life before meeting Jax was heartbreaking. She doesn't trust anyone and following the circumstances of their first meeting, Katya is determined to find a way off the island and travel home to her family. However she quickly realises that she is safer where she is and devices a plan to ensure she stays there. Jax isn't falling for her plan in the way she thought, but theirs is a slow burning journey. They both make mistakes, but I loved the way they both invoke thoughts and feelings in the other they thought could never exist. Slowly in each other they find hope, safety and a growing love.

I really enjoyed Watching Her and it was great to see a bit more of Luc and Adeline. I loved Jax, such a complex but caring, warm, loyal man, even with his quirks and kinks. I'm hoping Wraith might get his story told too!
Thanks to the author for accepting my arc request, these are my honest thoughts (am downloading a copy too)

Watching Her is the third book in the Keep Me Series. We finally get Jackson's story. I ADORED his character in this series, and couldn't wait for him to finally get his own happily ever after.

I love how protective Jax is. Both of his cousin Lucien and Adeline, but now he meets Katya and is instantly drawn to her. He watches Katya kill her husband and wants to know why.

Katya has been in hell the last 10 years. Her father lost her to a terrible man at the age of 16. She was brutally beaten and raped, made to do awful things for this man who took her.

I have LOVED series. The characters, the storylines are PERFECTION!!! I highly recommend this dark series. And would love if we could have Wraith's story next!!

This is the third book in this amazing series, and is Jax and Katya’s story. Katya has a heartbreaking background, and Jax instantly sees this and wants to protect her. They are both broken souls, yet are perfect together, but can they heal each other? No spoilers; this is a must read series, you will not be disappointed. This book can be read as a standalone, but in my opinion, this series should be read in order to get a better understanding of all of the characters. This is a well written story, which has twists, suspense, intrigue, and is a dark, gripping and sexy tale. I look forward to reading more of this authors’ work, and I highly recommend her work for all lovers of dark reads, as you will not be disappointed!

I give 5 stars to Watching Her: A Dark Romance (Keep Me Series) written by Angela Snyder.

If you are looking for a book to pull your emotions in every direction with so many twists and turns your brain my explode, this is definitely the series for you I read all 3 books within 3 days and it's only work that stopped me reading or I probably would of been done sooner, normally I love to saver a book but I found this very hard to put down and leave it.

This lady has come highly recommend to me from plenty of friends and I'm disappointed in myself it's taken me this long to sit down and read her books.

This is the story of Jaxson and how his love for watching got him in trouble. I knew what I should of done but I just couldn't so I think I may just keep her with me.

Suspense, Passion & Steam!! The perfect combination!!

I love a story that consumes you and Jax and Katya’s story did just that. I read the first two books in this series and absolutely loved them so imagine my excitement to see Jax and Katya’s story.
These two are like fire and ice. They push and pull and fight each other at every corner but as time passes and trust builds, these two grow a beautiful connection that they both deserve.
Now that I’ve discovered Author Angela Snyder, I can’t get enough. Her writing is descriptive and flows. It’s so easy to get swept into the pages. I devoured this book in one sitting, the story is totally addictive.
Can’t wait to enjoy more from this author. Definitely love the suspense and her protective, alpha males!

I was lucky enough to receive ARC of Watching her. I absolutely LOVED IT!!! Katya is such a strong and stubborn woman who can't stop second guessing herself or Jax. As for Jackson when you first meet him you think he just has it all together and is a bit of a smart a**. Well he is definitely second for sure, but he is also scared to death of a relationship. The twist near the end is HOLY COW!!!! I absolutely loved the ending, but I am kind of hoping that maybe you'll write a story on Wraith?? PLEASE ANGELA!!! I want to know what he has been through before Lucien and Jackson.

I was so hooked on Jax after reading Keeping Her and Saving Her. He is just a truly good and selfless person. We finally get some answers about the reasons for some of his kinks. It was also very interesting to see parts of what happened to/between Adeline and Lucien through someone else's perspective. I was definitely curious about Katya when she made her brief appearance in Saving Her. She has her own heartbreaking story. While I didn't particularly like some of her games or manipulations, I could understand why she felt she needed to do those things. Absolutely fantastic story with the perfect epilogue!
