It pains me to leave this review..
..but alas the truth must be told. First let me say that The style of writing is great. The author is definitely skilled. However, even though this is fiction, it has to be believable. The series to this point is not that. Best way I can describe it is with a sports analogy. This series is essentially the same as an NFL team losing its first 15 games and still making the playoffs. I understand it’s supposed to be dystopian but you cannot make it to the point the story is at without a few wins. The humans get 1 out of 16 wins and I am supposed to believe that they still make the playoffs. I can’t. I really does hurt me to write this. There are many likable characters and the plot is one I like. I just can’t get really into it because every chapter I am like “Welp they are dead now” and even the characters say “ If this happens we are dead”. Then that happens and they make it out somehow. Not by any believable means, but because if they don’t, the story ends. Will I finish the series? Probably because I am a bit OCD and my brain won’t let me leave a series unfinished. Also because I am an unlimited member and don’t have to pay for each individual book. I hope it gets more believable. I am not holding my breath. When a book or series gets this unbelievable it kills immersion, which is probably the worst thing a book or series can do to itself.

Whenever a human was in danger, the Heirs of Earth will be there! Now called the Human Defense Force, they fight to bring humanity back to Earth. The war for Earth has begun!
It's been two thousand years since Addison Elizabeth Linden-Emery ate her last hotdog, since Marco Emery wrote his last book, since Einav Ben-Ari, the Golden Lioness, had led the forces that saved the Earth. Two thousand years since the Earth was lost and humans had been forced to scrounge for survival with nowhere to call home, reviled and scorned by alien races, exterminated as pests by most species.
Descendants of the famous families, David Emery and Emet Ben-Ari had acquired a small fleet of spacecraft, mostly freighters, which they armed. They established the 'Heirs of Earth' to protect humans across the Milky Way galaxy. Their oath 'Wherever a human is in danger the Heirs of Earth will be there' became their battle cry as their small fleet crossed space seeking humans in trouble and rescuing them. They sought to save humanity while searching for their homeworld, Earth, lost for hundreds of years. Their only memories of their home came from the Earthstone, a crystal data store of all Earth's history and culture, literature and art. A difference in their goals and methods drove a rift between the founders, Ben-Ari and Emery, and eventually split them apart. David and Sarai Emery, with their two young daughters, Jade and Rowan, left the Heirs to make their own way, taking the Earthstone with them. They had not been seen or heard from for nearly 15 years.
Emet Ben-Ari and his daughter, Leona, held the Inheritors together, rescuing humans wherever they could with the help of fellow Inheritors. Emet's son Bay had left the Heirs of Earth after the death of his girlfriend, killed by Scorpions. He blamed his father for her death and spent his time drinking, gambling and wasting his life. Rowan Emery found herself abandoned and hiding in the airducts of space station "Paradise Lost", kept company by a tiny dragonfly shaped AI and the Earthstone she wore on a chain around her neck.
These are the characters that gathered a fleet, found allies around the galaxy and joined the Concord to battle against the Scorpions and their Heirarchy alliance. The galaxy witnessed the 'pests' destroy the Scorpions and their allies and win the war, but with terrible costs.
Leona Ben-Ari led two hundred Inheritors to Earth, finally found after two millennia, and started a colony on ground once called Ontario. Naming the colony Port Addison, the skirmishes with the species currently occupying Earth began immediately. They called the giant snake-like enemy Basilisks, because they couldn't pronounce ' Ssstchkssshs'. The Earth now had cities of millions of Basilisks, each one loved the juicy flesh of humans.
Emet Ben-Ari brought his fleet of a thousand vessels filled with twenty-five thousand refugees back to Earth. Port Addison suddenly had thousands of new colonists who were immediately set to defend the walls of their colony from the most recent and largest assault by the Basilisks. Meanwhile, thousands of huge Basilisk battleships surrounded the Earth in a tight cordon blockading the planet. The war for Earth had begun.
These characters form the basis for the Children of Earthrise series, a remarkable new series by Daniel Arensen. The characters are vibrant and colorful, brought to life by this master storyteller. The action is bloody and dark, raising chills with heart-pounding ship-to-ship battles, hand-to-claw skirmishes, blasters vs. bullets combat, some of the most intense action readable (or hearable). This book cost me many hours of sleep as I just had to keep reading! Now I can't wait for book five!

No, it cannot be! Earth was our home.
Another awesome book by Daniel Arenson. War is not amongst my favorite topics to read, but each book out distances the previous sequels and i am devouring the book as quickly as i can. The characters are wonderful and deep making me feel as if i have known them for a very long time. The story line sweeps us along. I love it. All this and love is thrown in for good measure.

Just a little break, just for once.
So here we are again , while the humans try to establish earth as their true home every other being wants to grind them into itty bitty pieces. I keep waiting for someone to reach out to help them but things are not looking good. I think something special will happen and if it does it would be great, in the mean time keep reading, this series is non stop action with some very funny stuff in between.

Great!
I enjoy this series. Action throughout. Humanity goes from fighting scorpions to battling huge snakes. After a devastating blow to their dreams of reclaiming earth, the humans must continue the war.

Exciting, emotional, couldn’t stop reading!

Great read
This book is full of hope, sadness, anger terrific battles. Just when the humans will get a break another obstacle comes up. Can't wait to read the next book.

Frustrating
This last book made me mad. How is earth going to survive with no allies and no tech to defeat the threat. I put down this book so many times frustrated. Not sure I want to read more.

Betrayal.
As usual the author Daniel Arenson imagination is boundless with amazing space wars and endless aliens.
Finally on earth and things gets worse than ever.
Beautiful narration by Jeffrey Kafer for each of the characters in this creation.
