Born part-faerie, Zinnia is no stranger to the allure of alpha men. In her twenty-five years, she had dodged a few of them, striking her magic against their will and slipping away as they wonder what just happened. Thinking herself safe at a friend’s birthday party, Zinnia meets not just an alpha wolf-shifter, but her mate. Kendrick drops her to her knees in submission before she realizes what is going on. The only problem is, they’re both married to other people.

As his pack’s alpha, Kendrick has bigger things to worry about than a reluctant mate. His kind are dying out. Magic is fading among all the packs in their region, preventing new children in the pack from shifting. Couple that with hunters attacking his kind, and Kendrick is torn between pursuing his mate and saving his pack or letting their bond and his people fall apart.

Magic has other things in mind for them. Drawn together by their mate bond, they are forced to spend time together to prevent Zinnia from becoming ill. In proximity to his wolf, to the feral nature beneath his skin, she finds that maybe submitting to her shifter mate and the barely restrained lust she feels for him may be exactly what she needs. With Kendrick’s wife urging the two of them to go through with the bond, and Zinnia’s newlywed husband trying to kill the wolves, it’s up to Zinnia to embrace her heritage and decide if magic and passion are worth giving up her human life.

Recently signed to Exciting Press for multiple books, Miya is thrilled to have found a publishing house that feels like coming home. It's hard to feel stuck in a contract when the director makes you feel like a rock star and part of the family at the same time.

The 2010 TWCS Original Fiction Contest winner for best supernatural story, Miya Kressin began her writing career in college but did not devote a lot of time to it until she became a mother. Her love of writing resumed when she began creating oral stories and fantasy worlds for her young children and then put pen to paper to preserve these stories for them.
After discovering an online community of amateur writers and readers, Miya resumed writing the stories she dreamed of for years.

Miya has a degree in theosophical studies and psychology from Carthage College. She is also an avid fiber artist; a hobby she enjoys with her husband. In her limited free time, she can be found spinning, knitting, weaving, crocheting and lace-making. Her educational background and experiences heavily influence her fictional writing.

Miya is a stay at home mother in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where she lives with her husband and three daughters.

First it is a MF story. Yes both are married but no polyamory whatsoever. I was hoping for a menage though. Still possible with one character but who knows on another book in this series?

This said, I liked the story very much. This can be read as a stand-alone which is great. So don’t be fooled about #2 book. Each book is a separate story, yet in the same universe and with secondary characters. It is called series (versus serial which are books with cliffhanger and same characters in each until its conclusion 5 or 6 books later... once you paid 4-5$ each each book to get the full story eh?)

Anyway. Not the case here. As I said, I see potential menage but I thing the author is too mainstream to jump the fence.

It is definitely a werewolf and faerie story. Humans are the villains. It is a different romance I read about. This and the easy style, lovable characters and a nice plot, it makes a great enjoyable story to read and it deserves 5 stars.

I recommend.

Book #2 is out. 2 secondary characters.
