She had been head over heels, crazy in love with him.
She had run away because she couldn’t handle starting again. She had left him behind out of fear. Fear that they wouldn’t be happy when the gloss of the affair had worn out; fear that he would grow tired of her.
She ached to see him. To hear his voice. To touch his skin…
Life hasn’t turned out quite as expected for Lydia Kelly. Tired of flitting from one meaningless relationship to the next, she regrets the choices she made all those years ago.
When her best friend Sam gets engaged, she is drawn back to the past; she is pulled back to Ireland and her old life. Except this time the rules have changed. This time she realises the mistakes she has made…
This novel continues the story of Luca and Lydia as fate inevitably brings them back together. Will the flame be reignited? Or is it too late? Does she deserve a second chance?
Caragh Bell is an Irish author from west Cork who has published seven books. She enjoys writing fiction as it offers escapism in a world saturated with bad news - her books are light, funny and addictive. All the titles link and the result is a literary world where familiar characters pop up in unexpected places. Her trilogy - INDECISION, REGRETS and PROMISES - is set in Ireland; ECHOES OF GRACE is set in the wilds of Cornwall. Her fifth book, GABRIELLA, is based in New York. Her sixth book, MOSAIC, begins in Ireland and moves into the exciting world of music and fame. Fortuna is her seventh book.

After how things ended in the first installment (Indecision), I was curious to see what would happen next with Lydia and Luca! The story, once again, flowed brilliantly. But, once again as well, Lydia still has this tendency of getting on my nerves.
I live for the Colin-chapters though. Gay cousin for the win, always!
I won this book from library thing and with that I am to leave an honest review. I the beginning I was very lost. This is the 2nd book and I had not read the first. without buying it I could not read the 1st. I would sum this book up as a love story suspense. a GREAT read. Luca and Lydia had a past but they had "moved on" from each other. she had broke his heart because she was not "relationship material". the wedding of their best friends brought them back together and made them realize that they were truly in love with each other no matter what happened in their past and no matter what their present with other people held. I won't give away all the details and be a spoiler but book 2 does not end in a good way. I really really really want the 3rd book to come out where I can find out the outcome!!!
A huge fan of the first book and all it's twists and turns -I was eager to find out what became of the story - where did Lydia's choice take her and how did she deal with it. There were more twists and turns in this book keeping me on my toes as we travelled from Paris to Cork to New York and other places. Being Irish I find the descriptions of the way of life, the scenery and the family dynamics heart warming, and make me wish I was at home. I love the fact that this takes a bit more adult approach to storytelling and isn't completely saccharine sweet, because I would read Maeve Binchy for that. As a huge Jilly Cooper fan, this book is well within my likes category. A great read when you want to get away with real life and all it's up and downs. Would highly recommend!
Everybody drinks too much, everybody buys designer clothes, everybody flies left, right and centre without batting an eyelid at the costs, everybody shortens everybody's name, everybody flirts all the time . If that's your thing, you will love it.
