I Pray Book 9 is Here REAL Soon!!! ☺

(Quick afterthought...I intended for this review to be no longer than a few sentences - max - but this series is just THAT DARN GOOD! It's one of those situations where I want to tell ANYONE who will listen all about "this unbelievable book that I am in the middle of." )

Please tell me, that by some miracle, Green Fields book 9 will be out this year!?! One or two of the other books in this series ended with a cliffhanger, but never quite like this! Plus, not to mention the fact that when I reached that cliffhanger in the other books I just moved on to the next installment, never missing a beat.

I have to admit that "Catharsis" wasn't quite as action packed as the previous books, and a few conversations (though informative and often good for a giggle or two) seemed to drag on for a while. I have a feeling, though, that it was a precursor to prepare us for the intense, down-right insane fight that lies ahead for Bree and the gang in the next book that is yet to come. I'm pretty sure that book 9 will be by far the best installment in this series; and that's saying a lot since Green Fields books 1-8 were downright amazing! Plus, we found out a few tidbits from various characters' pasts that filled in some rather large holes here and there. Especially juicy were the details pertaining to the downfall of Nate and "Bucky."

I've read MANY zombies novels over the years, but never has their journey through the apocalypse taken them to a completely different continent half-way across the world. Let's face it, in most cases it takes a person 6-months to a year just to find their way home to their families - across a single country! I guess you could say that is what separates this series from the others - the characters go further, and the situations they get themselves into are even bigger and badder than the rest!

I feel like I am rambling on at this point. So, all I am really trying to say is...Adrienne Lecter is a gifted, talented author; and her Green Fields series is well worth your time. If you like the zombie apocalypse genre you will love this series. I am pretty sure, like me, you will have a hard time putting the book down once you get started, no matter what chore or activity is beckoning to you. Although, as with most series, I suggest you of course start with the first book.

Last but not least, there is gore, there is violence, and at times a few harsh words - this genre is not for those with weak stomachs - but it's far from the most disgustingly ruthless book I have ever read. Therefore, I personally would let my teenager read it without objection. Younger children, probably not a good idea...but I'm guessing that that's a given. :)

Thanks for doing what you do Adrienne! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!!!

Another hit by Adrienne Lecter!

This is a very good follow up to the painful journey of book 7. A lot of back story on Nate and how his original group came to be. I am so glad I continued to read past book 6.
If you are still not decided if you should keep going after 6 let me help you out - you definitely should!!! Books 7 & 8 are just as awesome as the previous 6 if not better.

Adrienne is one of the very few authors out there that does not fall into the trap of making her story line or villainies predictable. There are so many twists in the story in the story to make it interesting even after 8 books and I think that is super hard to accomplish. The plot also seems to still be in line with the rest of the series. Kudos to her for keeping it awesome still and giving us, her faithful readers, what I consider the best of the best for this genre.

what a great read.. keeps getting better

The mystery continues to thicken and it makes you wonder who is the good guy and who is the bad guy.. Adrienne's story telling is nothing short of brilliant, I am absolutely amazed by the details of this series and the twists and turns that never end. My strong, silent brooding Nate never fails to disappoint and I will never get enough dialog from him.. ever. This series makes me think trying to unravel the great mystery, it makes me angry and this go around I had tears 😭.. I couldn't ask for more from an author than what was delivered.. cannot wait for the next book.. no pressure!!!

Lecter continues to impress and stand out in an already overcrowded genre. From the pleasantly unusual ways in which her stories flow, to the dynamic depths of her flawed characters actions, to the specific word choices she uses in furthering her stories...Lecter proves, time and again, that there remain vast swathes of unexplored verbal terrain throughout the Universe of Apocalyptic Fiction. Indeed, it seems as though Dr Lecter (how fitting, by the way!) lives to turn many a beloved and/or well worn writing trope on its head!

In Catharsis, Lecter makes you question whose the good guy and whose the bad as she plugs along with a mysterious update. Bree and Nate have survived the impossible only to be placed once again in dangers way.

Lecter is an incredible writer. Each turn of the page builds and reveal more character development. With each new installment, I'm captivated and have often found myself zoning out into zombie reading bliss ignoring the sounds of my family. Catharsis once again just was another epic novel within this series. True fan!

Wow it's so been worth waiting for!

Nate, Bree and Burns are travelling and making friends and enemies along the way. Bree and Nates relationship gets stronger and their story gets more complicated. There's information that committed readers will salivate to get their eyes on. New characters and old enemies combine to bring Green Fields 8 to a brilliant cliffhanger. Can't wait for Green Fields 8. Type quickly Adreinne for all our sakes. Couldn't out it down.

Great read

Can't get enough of this series!! Bree is absolutely my favourite female Zompoc character ever, she has gone through such a crazy journey but never ever quits. This book is more about Bree and her health, dealing with the changes within herself. That being said, it's still action packed and full of Nate/Bree exchanges that ive come to enjoy so much. Really excited to see where Adrienne can take the story next.

Love in the time of zombies

I love this series. Not only is it very well written and non stop action, upon rereading the series I got a lot more of the very unusual love story that ties so much of it together. When I first read, I really didn’t like the main male character much, but I definitely missed a lot that first run through. Each of her characters are well defined and multi-layered, as is the story itself.

I have just finished this book, and once again Lecter doesn't fail to entertain. With this chapter of the Green Fields series, we are gifted with even more snark from our favorite virologist turned half-zombie/half-super soldier. This wasn't my favorite of the series to date, but it was still worthy of 5 stars. I've never been a fan of cliff-hangers (and less so for book ending cliff-hangers), but for this book it seemed right to end it looking into the darkened doorway of a French bunker.

Awesome

An awesome series. Great cast of characters action-packed storyline. Plenty of blood and gets and zombie fighting. The remaining members of Lucky 13 in the rest of the group have a new challenge and a new mission follow them on their adventures and you will not be disappointed.
Once you start reading it you will not want to put it down until you get to the end.

Ahhhhh!

Once again adrienne lecter has left me wanting the next book NOW (please)
This book saw us go through the journey of recovery and location with our protagonist as well as letting us get to know a few more characters. I truly love Bree, flaws and all. I think the fact she isn't perfect or always right gives the book a shot of realism that can be lacking from this genre.

Buy it.

If you read the series this far, you gotta get this one.
Adrienne, I want to see those fingertips bleeding on the keyboard to get the next book out.
This is possibly the most introspective book of the series, a bit less rabble rousing (slightly) and more introvert, it’s still one of the most inventive and well fleshed series around.

Catharsis was a wild read, start to finish!!

Catharsis was totally AWESOME! With some answers to a lot of the readers might have been wondering about. We learn more about just about a everyone's past, and how they wound up in the group. Bree learns more about what Nate and his friends went through. Also more about her own condition. Can hardly wait for book 9!!

Hurry up with 9!

I love that the uberbitch is back in the last 2 books, but I'll be sad when the next one ends! These books are fast, fun, and full of all the revenge I wish I could take out on those that are butts just because they can be! 😈

Another great story

Great story! Love Bree and Nate!! I did miss Pia in this book! I can’t wait until we get back to our friends... hopefully in the next book! The only thing that bugs me that the author uses the phrase “gnashing my teeth” way too much!!!

Book #8

This one was very emotional, I have so much sympathy for Bree and Nate!
They are still together but have had a real rough time in this chapter of their story. On to book #9.
