This is an expansion on The original Crystal Bible by Judy Hall. Because of this, the original (most common) crystals are not referenced in additional detail here--which is what I was hoping would be the case. Instead, this categorizes more obscure, detailed crystals. While not exactly what I was expecting, this author is certainly very knowledgeable in her subject, and this is a great companion volume to the original.

Great book about crystals. If you use crystals for any reason, this is a superb reference book. There are, at least, 3 in this series.

3 Stars = I liked the book. I'm glad I read it.

This 2nd book in a 3 part series is a must have for all mineral/crystal/gemstone collectors, admirers, and those that utilize the properties of all for healing, energetic purposes. This is a handheld guide set up to explain the differences between crystals, gemstones, minerals, the cuts, formation of, differences between heated, tumbled and raw, attributes, healing, jewelry, care and cleansing.

Over 200 kinds of minerals/crystals/gemstones are addressed in this book and each one has a few photos showing you the differences between raw and tumbled along with color/appearance/rarity/source then attributes, position, chakra alignment, and other types and colors of the same mineral/crystal/gemstone.

I have read many books on this subject matter and most come across as too scientific and not formatted as an everyday "go to" guidebook. This is that book. This is a great starter for anyone wondering about minerals/crystals/gemstones, as well as someone already well versed in this subject matter. Even though I know a lot about all of these things, this book is the best I have seen so far if you need to quickly reference something specific without getting too scientific. Nothing is repeated in each volume.

I am in love with this book and use it almost on a daily basis! It has been an invaluable reference not only for the fantasy romance I write, but for my own use. I have always been fascinated with stones, and after looking through this book, I can see why I was drawn to a few of them in particular.

The pages are well organized and in full-color, which helps when trying to identify a particular stone you are looking for. The index is where I spend most of my time, as it breaks down the ailment you wish to correct, and then directs you to the stone (or stones) that can help.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking for an easy to use reference book on healing stones. And by the way, it is the perfect size to travel with!

This book contains more crystals/stones, and a nice portion of them are rare/not as common. Similar to the first Crystal BibIe, I learned a great deal about the other types of crystals/stones not contained in the first book.

I love how Judy Hall breaks down the crystal/stone properties - as in what they do for you spiritually, mentally, and physically. This is NOT a science book, with a complete breakdown of molecules, structure, elements, etc. This is a book that is more of a reference book, but it has an excellent crystal care guide, index, dictionary for words/phrases that may be unknown to you, as a reader, and it also has diagrams for further learning.

Aha! So that's where Ocean Jasper went... In retrospect, I guess I don't really mind it being in this volume vs. the first one, but I do still wish the tables for each entry were more complete. Still though, this was as good a read as the first volume. Though I didn't find the book-ended, extra information sections of this edition as valuable as the first - sometimes it repeated stuff the first volume did - but there was still some good stuff in there.

As mentioned... I really enjoy Judy's knowledge. I bet her collection of crystals is amazing. But I have found her collections photos to have some in accuracy and have had to seek out other authorities.

I liked the first one the best. But this is a good book too. Note: note a science book. This is for Energy Healers, etc.

Although I bought this follow up, as the 1st was missing some of my favorite gemstones, number one is far more referenced and used.

The second book in this series is quite interesting, as it contains many crystals I had not heard of and have never seen in person. While "The Crystal Bible" is fantastic for those starting out, this may be a bit frustrating for newcomers as some of the crystals featured are not as readily available and can also be a bit expensive. Having said that, it is lovely to be able to see the photos and learn a bit about them. All in all, it's a great companion to the first book and I am glad to have it in my library.

This book stays true to form to the orginal crystal bible in the wealth of information on crystals it offers. The unique thing about this book is that it documents crystals that were once difficult to obtain and thus not popular in their use across the western hemisphere. These stones can now be obtained thanks to the vast nature of the internet allowing access to the earth's precious DNA. This book gives the characteristics of these stones making it the go-to reference for any serious collector of stones.

I really enjoy having this book as a reference in addition to the first one. This goes into more depth of some of the variations of stones and has other less common ones that the first one doesn't cover. Attributes are easy to look up and understand.

A great resource for my jewelry design, but it seemed like some of the gemstones were the same as in the first book, but listed under alternate names.

It's a good resource, but has more of the rare and obscure stones. The Crystal Bible is better for more common stones.
