This book is a decent starter point if you want to learn about crystals and their uses. But definitely don't stop with this one if it's something important to you, because, while the information provided is good, it's shallow, for lack of a better way to describe it.

Also, if you are suffering from a major illness of any sort, DO NOT rely on crystals alone for your treatment. By all means, please see a professional healthcare provider to receive treatment for your condition or illness, and incorporate crystals as an aid to that treatment, but absolutely NEVER leave your full reliance on crystals alone for medical treatment!

As I mentioned, the information here is decent, but shallow. Most of the uses for and ways in which to use crystals are not touched on, or are done so in such a brief way that you can never get a full grasp of it. There are some rituals included in the book, which are easy enough to do, and very short descriptions for some crystals, but I felt like many crystals weren't included in the information. In fact, it almost felt like some of the crystals mentioned are those not very common in everyday use by people who have an interest in this sort of thing. Everybody should know what clear quartz is and how to use it, but I don't think I've ever seen "ruby in fuchsite" before or seen anybody use it, so maybe including a weird one like that wasn't the best choice.

The author also came across to me as worried about how she'd appear to her readers. From all I can gather here, this woman is a witch. What KIND of witch is up for debate, since there are several types, but I HAVE seen the mention of "crystal witches" before, and such a term might describe this woman's chosen path. What bothers me is that she won't just come out and say so. Though heavy hints are dropped, such as references to rituals, a photograph that looks as if it may contain a cauldron, mentions of altars and their set ups and a glancing mention of purposes for such, all tell me that this woman is a witch. What I don't get, though, is why she didn't just come out and say so. Maybe she thought that by saying as much she'd somehow distract her readers from the ultimate purpose of the book, which was to learn about crystals, but I am more inclined to think she didn't mention it for fear of judgment by non-witches that might have picked up the book.

I would have preferred more detail about crystals, their uses, and how I could incorporate them in my daily life and rituals, but that information just isn't given in this book. I'll have to move on to something else for that, obviously, but I can and will use what information is in this one for my references.

When I was in grade school, my mother owned a small clothing shop that was in the same plaza as an even smaller crystal shop. My parents have always been interested in crystals, and we had a lot of them around the house, so it wasn't surprising that I became interested in them as well. I spent a lot of time in that crystal shop after school, and we brought many of the crystals and gem stones that we bought there with us to Canada. Once we moved to Canada, my interest in crystals kind of waned. They were still around the house, but I had other things to think about, like surviving high school, haha. Over the past year, however, I've started feeling that pull again! Crystals are in my life again the way they were back when I was a child, with the only difference being that I am a lot more interested in, and aware of, their attributes and/or benefits.

A wonderful book for people just starting on their crystal journey or people who have an abundance of crystals already. It helps you to reconnect with the powers of your crystals and fall in love with them all over again. This book can also be used as an oracle to prescribe and work with different crystals in your collection. It also contains really useful alternative uses for your crystals such as meditations and elixirs. The book has a lovely aesthetic to it that looks wonderful on a crystal alter too.

I have been looking for the “right” book on crystals for some time, probably around two years. This one finally made its presence felt in a crystal shop in Devon, and I bought it without any doubts. I took a whole week to carefully absorb it, match up all of my crystals, cleanse them and generally get used to working with the many different types that I have slowly collected. I really recommend this book for anyone interested in the subject. I found it easy to read yet very engaging.

This is a lovely book with some beautiful photographs of each crystal, again some are new to me and I’ll definitely be putting some of them on my wish list. Another book that is good for dipping into whenever I need a specific crystals assistance.

Fantastic book about crystals and how to incorporate them into your life. Has “recipes” for using them in specific ways and shows you how they can improve your quality of life.

Tamara Driessen created excellent textbook for crystal healing in The Crystal Code: Balance Your Energy, Transform Your Life. She brings the crystal world to your mind, body, and soul from each written word on basics, rituals, guide, colours, and concepts.

It decodes the attraction to crystals and connection to us in discerning manner - only true practitioner can share. Made me revisiting crystal healing again after decades of lost connection.

Must-have book for your personal library collection!

A great and informative read for the beginner stage when it comes to crystals and all things a like.
An excellent piece to start off my collection. I will most definitely refer to it a lot while embarking on this stage that I’m on of rebirth.

As someone who is new to the world of crystals, I found this book so accessible. I loved the layout where the first half discusses what crystals are and how to use them, and the latter half is an a-z guide of different types of crystals. The information is parsed into digestible sections that allows the reader to pick up and put down the book whenever needed.

The use of crystals are very trendy, The book is a 101 course about it. It contains information about the characteristics and the benefits for most of the stones used for the practice,

Ok! Third time is a charm! Finally an author with a voice I can relate to. Plus I love the compendium at the end of book which makes it so easy to reference. This one I would consider adding to my collection.

Beautiful and well thought out book. Not a massive amount of info on individual crystals purely because there are so many but the author has picked out some well known ones and ones not so well known.
