Audrey Chapman struggles to hang on to her hopes and dreams after a violent attack threatens her future, her relationships, and her ability to trust in the Lord. Hanging out with friends in her hometown of Hastings, Minnesota, is the perfect way for Audrey Chapman to spend her last Friday night before leaving for college. She and her best friend, Trevor Hayes, were expecting a get-together of close friends from Hope Church. Not a raucous beer bash. They agree to drop in for a few minutes. Audrey doesn’t plan to stay into the wee hours of the morning. She definitely doesn’t anticipate this party changing the course of her life.
This was a great book to get me back into reading. Once I started, I was hooked and couldn't put it down. The characters and story line were relatable and I was left wanting more when I finished. Looking forward to the next book!
I finished reading the hard copy of Stacy Boatman's book today. It was a sweet gift! This book is well written with contemporary young adults A girl, (18 yr old protagonist) faces the reality of a life decision she was not prepared to make at this age. She integrated Christian principles throughout the book. It was not so heavenly minded that it was impractical. I recommend this book and its placement in church libraries as well as available for teens at home or first-year college.
I absolutely loved this book and how the author talked about faith and christianity. All the support Audrey had and how she had doubts but remained faithful. Such a great story after her SA that’s really beautiful.
This was a very sweet story & the characters were well developed and pulled me in. Bittersweet Goodbye is Stacy Boatman's first novel, but I don't think it will be her last. I hope not anyway.
