I bought the box set of the first 6 books in this series. Let me tell you, these books were the reason for going to sleep late and losing track of time. Just as I was about to put the book down (Kindle, in my case) I just had to sneak a peek at the next page. I got sucked down the rabbit hole again! Looked at the bedside clock...holy tempus fugit! I have to get up in 6 hours...wait...just one more chapter...
Seriously, these books have a set of characters (in every sense of the word) that keep you entertained, and engrossed in their story. The books are very contemporary, topical and up-to-the-minute accurate of the world situation these days. Echo Six is a highly-skilled, highly-charged, multi-national team of Special Forces operators gathered from the NATO nations. They are sent on missions with a high probability of extreme danger, political intrigue, and death (hopefully for the Bad Guys).
Personalities and egos are a large part of this pool of men, and Echo Six is no exception. The characterizations of the main characters are believable, and the way that they all mesh together to form one cohesive unit is a great story in itself. One annoying quirk of the leader, Lt. Abe Talley, is his notion that people need to act the way they "should", and not the way they "do". He is not necessarily gullible, but he has a gut feeling and empathy for the people they encounter, and deal with, on their missions. However, he is often disappointed in their actions. He also has a weak spot for beautiful (and dangerous) women.
The military action, the equipment, and tactics are all top-notch and the missions are credible. These books are totally entertaining.

We Few...We Band of Brothers
Echo Six Black Ops Box Set will keep you up long past your bed time. These are tales of fiction based upon very possible real evil and brutal enemies of the west. The missions are brutal and seemingly hopeless. It shows the absolute need for modern equipment & logistics for a small spec ops team to have a chance of success. It shows that even the best of the best can be wounded, maimed or killed it sometimes is as fickle as being in the wrong place at the right time. The Italian Lieutenant Rovere & his constant Shakespearean quotes are maddening as is Lt. Commander Talley's gift for scoring a beautiful women in every mission is way over the top one comes to expect & accept it.
Former military will enjoy these tales and a lot of us will be able to relate to most of the conflict geographical locations & enemies. Just as important we will no doubt pick up on what is bogus as well as what is real...details are important.
I recommend the series as well as other books Eric has conjured up from the depths of his fertile imagination. However for the love of all that is holy or unholy....use the term magazine not clip my Brit brother!I

Good set of books for a superbly cheap price! Every book is followed up by the nest one in the set and best read in sequence. Takes forever to get thru them all. Each book is a long read so don't plan on finishing this set quickly. All of them are full of detailed combat action and plot surprises. As retired military, I was amazed at many of the descriptions of the weapons described and much of it repeated so many times in each book. I bit too much. Also was incredulous about the detail for each combat action in the plot. As a fact most battles are much more simple in terms of action. But after all, this is truly a fictional series. I enjoyed reading this series and will await what I suspect be the follow on books using the same characters.

A intriguing no holds barred read
From the start the story fills you up to the present day, reading how each member of the elite have there own story to tell as you get deeper and deeper into the challenges ahead, and times when there in a bad situation due to unforseen circumstances not thought of by the team members. As you read on the story has you do intrigued that it's hard to put the book down, I am looking forward to reading more of books by Eric Meyer, try one you will not be disappointed.

A very enjoyable and exciting read
Throughout the whole of the boxed set, the stories in each book were exciting, fast-paced and quite real in the foreseeing told.
I enjoyed the books and found them excellent value for money. I recommend the set to anyone interested in action adventures

Excellent
If you like war action, these books are for you. The team gets lucky many times. The main hero’s get wounded time after time and parts of the team make the ultimate sacrifice. lots of politics, back stabbing, traitors, unlikely hero’s and last minute saviors.

Echo Six ..... a read that will capture you
These stories really captured my attention and imagination. It was extremely difficult to put the books down until the end.

Very well written.
I like the way the author maintains the main characters, and even more so how the characters mature and develop through experience. Great write.
