It’s not every day that a man with a refined English accent and a three-piece suit wanders into Roxy’s tattoo parlor.
More than a little intoxicated, and fresh from a break-up, Edward is eager for some body art to commemorate the occasion.
But Roxy smells trouble.
She knows his type: conservative, corporate banker. Wealthy snob. Infuriatingly charming.
She’s ready to show him the door.
Edward, however, is fascinated by the sassy shop owner. And her scowling expression – and smart mouth – is infinitely more intriguing than a tattoo.
They’re complete and total opposites. Absolutely nothing in common. Except…
Edward and Roxy learn they do share a secret fantasy. And suddenly they’re coming up with a much more improper use for Edward’s fancy tie.
Note: this is a smutty, sweet and slightly kinky story of 11,500 words. And this book also includes a bonus preview of Kathryn Nolan’s enemies-to-lovers novel, RIPTIDE, which begins at 63%.

Absolutely loved this perfectly filthy novella. Roxy & Edward are the perfect bite sized treat of deliciousness. Roxy the bratty submissive and Edward the untapped Dominant. Their chemistry was off the charts & you get just the right dose of sweet & funny too. Definitely recommend.
The Suit is a quick read short story. Just a heads up, it ends at 66%. It took me a bit to get used to the POV writing style but once I did, I really enjoyed the story. A quick synopsis: Edward gets dumped by his long term girlfriend and ends up getting drunk and going to the tattoo parlor Roxy owns. He is requesting a tattoo but she turns him down because he isn't sober. They get to talking and then they get to the kinkery. It was HoTT. I am really adoring this author. I have liked everything that she has published so far and I cannot wait to see what more she comes out with in the future.
Kathryn rocks. I loved this super hot shortie. It was awesome watching it unfold in her Facebook group but I liked it even better reading it all in one go. Edward and Roxy are hot. I hope it doesn’t stop after breakfast!
If you're looking for a quick lunch break read or, in my case, waiting for your kid to get out of an activity, this is perfect! However, it may leave you all hot and bothered, so make sure you have something to cool you off. ;-) This was an intensely hot night of debauchery between a proper Englishman and a tatted, pierced, goth girl. All I could think about while reading was an extremely sexy and naughty Tom Hiddleston. Sigh... I'd love to see a follow-up story where Edward and Roxy reconcile their visceral need for one another with their clashing worlds.
What happens when a slightly drunk, seemingly uptight Brit business man rolls into the tattoo shop of a pink-haired, pierced, and tatted hardcore woman asking for a tattoo to commemorate being dumped by his long-term girlfriend? Make him coffee, chat a bit, then send him on his way. Except that's not even close to the way the night ends in this insanely HOT novella!! Roxy and Edward's story is short but so unbelievably amazing. There is so much intense attraction in this book that I thought I might combust just reading it.
Let me start by saying, Kathryn Nolan is a brilliant storyteller. The Suit is a short story, but there's no shortage of heart, soul or sexiness, and it's remarkably detailed.
Edward and Roxy are an incongruous pair who meet one night in Roxy's tattoo shop. As Edward, "the suit", sobers up in the shop, he and Roxy begin a conversation that will change them in the best sort of way. The thoughtful dialogue and sexy scenes are wonderful. Their story is the perfect mix of heat and sweet.
As I was reading, I kept thinking--if Kathryn can pack this much of a punch in s short story, how amazing are her full length novels!? 5 stars!
Too bad Goodreads doesn't put more stars up there. Like maybe six for extraordinary and seven for out of this world HOT. I'd give this a seven then.
I read erotica and erotic romance. That's my first love when reading and has been for almost 30 years. I recognize good plotting, great characters, hot sex, and lots and lots of steam and love it all.
This book was offered as a promotional freebie. I took advantage of it and when I needed something steamy and short to read, this one was next in line. I'm sorry it sat for even a day unread. If you are looking for short, hot, and incredibly steamy, read about Roxy and Edward. Edward of Wall Street, with the Brit accent and terribly buttoned up look. And Roxy of the tats and piercings, and the irreverant way of talking to Edward, whom she calls Dilbert. The back and forth between them, which covers about half the story, is so entertaining you honestly forget that they're just sitting and chatting. The friction and emotion that comes from this give and take between them is amazing and showed me that Kathryn Nolan understands the nuance of conversations like this.
I love verbal chemistry, and it is the hardest thing to translate into written words for a reader to enjoy. The author has put that chemistry on the page (in spades) in this story. Kudos.
This is a short story. It is a GREAT introduction to a writer I've never read before, but plan on reading again.
Kathryn Nolan is absolutely phenomenal when it comes to erotic romance and this short story is evidence of that. The Suit started out as a series of #sexyshorts (as in short pieces of writing) in Kathryn’s Facebook group, inspired by her obsession with Tom Hiddleston, however Edward and Roxy became a hit and this novella was born. I absolutely loved rereading this story in it’s entirety - in a way it was even better since I didn’t have to wait days (or a week) between parts. Seemingly stuffy, Englishman Edward stumbles into Roxy’s tattoo parlour after a horrendous break up earlier that even. What starts as a desire for a tattoo ends up with a desire for so much more. Kathryn is a shining example of how to write a short story that has character development, steamy and erotically-charged sex scenes and a captivating plot line - a lot of authors could learn from her!!
This is one Hapoy Valentine’s Day Reading Edward and Roxy’s story again. And it’s a definite must read for any romance lovers (plus if you haven’t read Kathryn’s novel Riptide, you get he first four chapters as a bonus in this book so you’ll be sucked in and want to grab that one too!) nicandbooks â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â£ï¸ Amazon/Goodreads âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸
Hold on to your panties because they are sure to melt away after reading this super hot novella. Edward has just been dumped by the dumbest girl in the world. He spends the evening drinking and then stumbles in to bad-girl Roxy's tattoo shop, wanting to brand himself in retaliation to the slight from his ex. Sparks fly between the two of them when they begin to get to know each other, and the night ends.....pretty swell, for both of them. These two are smokin hot together. Kathryn Nolan has a talent for writing her characters, and the sexual tension between these two is almost tangible. She is the queen of writing super hot sex that gets your heart pounding. As for this story, it's impressive the amount of feels and steam that is packed into something so short. Nothing that this woman writes is disappointing in the least, so if sexy British dudes that love to sweet-talk tattooed bad girls out of their panties and then give them a nice little spank is your thing, then I would DEFINITELY pick up this novella today!
All hail Queen Kathryn. NOBODY does a Sexy Short like Kathryn Nolan. So what's better than one sexy short? How about a bunch of them strung together into the absolutely most blisteringly hot novella ever?
Inspired by Tom Hiddleston, Edward is a proper English gentleman. The beautifully tailored suit. The posh, panty-melting accent. The tie. That freaking tie. So well put-together this chap is. And some idiotic woman has just dumped him. Edward stumbles, somewhat inebriated, into a dimly lit tattoo parlor, looking to make a poor decision fueled by sadness, anger and alcohol.
Pink-haired, ink-covered, shop owner Roxy knows his type. Buttoned-up. Bland. Boring. But she'll play along for a bit. Make him some coffee. Chat a little. And then head home by herself, sending this pathetic soul on his way.
Roxy is a bad-ass tattoo artist! A girl who stands out and likes it a little bit rough. One night as she's closing up in walks the suit, Edward. British accent, well dressed, obviously fit...enough said! He's just been dumped by his prim & proper two-timing girlfriend after three years together. It was a messy split and now as an act of defiance...he decides that he needs a tattoo!
I'm a sucker for a British accent, so this and their unbelievably HOT chemistry sucked me right in. A quick, sexy, kinky read that will be have you busting out the fan to cool off. If you like your sex a little bit naughty and a whole lot rough and mind-blowing, you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to read more by this author. Holy hell that was HOT AS F*CK!
Started as a lark What started as a lark and a writing exercise, The Suit soon became so much more. What would happen if a seemingly uptight (and slightly inebriated) English gentleman walked into a shabby little tattoo parlor and charmingly asked for a tattoo on his behind to commemorate a spectacular public break up? And what if the proprietress, a filthy mouthed tatted up temptress, denies him? Sparks fly (along with clothing), and appearances go out the window. This hot little novella will turn all your perceptions about this couple on it’s head! I love it! Edward and Roxy take up far too much of my head space! What do you mean, they’re not real?!
Sassy, savvy, sexy, scorching!!! The Suit is an enjoyable and sexy read! An ABSOLUTE must read.
Edward and Roxy are strangers that would probably not cross paths under normal circumstances. However, the stars align and their brief encounter teems over with sexual innuendo, tension, and pleasure. Kathryn Nolan solidifies her status as the queen of the sexy short! Like any significant encounter, Edward and Roxy will leave you thoroughly satisfied yet craving more.
These characters are unexpected and phenomenal; they share a palpable passion and connection. Caution: your kindle and your body might spontaneously combust!
I absolutely love Edward and Roxy, two completely different people from different worlds, but fit so perfectly together. I love the way this book was written, I have to say this was a first for me and I fell in love. Super funny and witty. Holy mother this book was steamy. They could have burnt the shop down. My kindle is in a hot mess after this one. Looking in to more books by this author.
A deliciously fun, steamy, and quick read! Kathryn Nolan tells the best stories. Even though the story is short, I was captivated from the first paragraph. The descriptions were so well written that I actually felt like I was physically watching the story unfold on a screen.
Closing time for a tattoo artist turns into InfernoTown when a suited-up Brit wanders in, ready to make bad choices. It’s a smidge too quick to get attached to the characters or what they’re doing, so the steamy scenes lose a bit of punch. Good story, though!
Though not a fan of second person POV, I thought this story was quite excellent!! Great characters, great chemistry and oh boy was the sex scenes hot!!! Hot as all hell!!! I literally feel like Kathryn reached into my brain and snagged some favorite fantasies of mine and then wrote about it. It was amazing reading them...
Roxie is the owner of tattoo parlor Cleaning up for the night, she gets a late night patron. Edward is a slightly drunk, recently broken hearted British banker. He wants a tattoo to commemorate the occasion.
What starts off as insistence and denial, quickly moves on to steamy snarky banter, them to a very erotic encounter!
I first read The Suit in Kathryn’s Hippie Chicks group! This is one of, if not, the hottest story stories I’ve ever read. Edward and Roxie are all the sexy time goals. I can’t wait to read more about them!
Enjoyable quick story about the pain of loss, not judging others from their looks and hot, super steamy fantasies that can actually come true. Will Roxy and Edward give in to their desires? Find out in this (yes again) super steamy story!
This was the perfect mix of sassy and sexy. Never just a book based on the cover and the same holds true for the characters in this book. Edward and Roxy were off the charts hot with their banter and chemistry. Overall a really fun quick read.
These two lit this book on FIYAH! The banter between Roxy and Edward was so hot and scalding it just blew you away or made you cream your panties! With each turn of the page and every secret glance you read about all you wanted to do is shout...More more more!
This book was hot🔥🔥🔥 the chemistry between Roxy and Edward was crazy! Heartbroken guy gets to have the sex he’s been wanting his whole life after stumbling upon a tatted sex goddess! I loved this quick sexy book I wish there was more!
Roxy and Edward are so hot together! This is a story I could read over and over. I absolutely loved the slow build to the sex. I definitely need more Roxy and Edward!
I first read this steamy short on the author's Facebook and was excited to hear it was released for everyone else to enjoy. Edward and Roxy will knock your socks off!
