Valac’s finally found his freedom from his brother and Hell, literally. But neither are ready to let him go. He’s on the run with only the cries of the damned to keep him company. Each day a new hell on earth is unleashed and each night a new nightmare unfolds. His time is growing short, either insanity will claim him or his brother will.
Rogue’s name fits him for a reason. He’s part of a pack, but he doesn't like people. On a simple errand in town he stumbles upon his mate fighting for his life. Now it’s a race against time and the demons who hunt them. Will their love be strong enough to rescue him from the hell that awaits at his brothers hands?
Love is powerful, but is it enough to battle the forces of Hell and win?
Sad,intense and stressful. Waiting to see what's on the next page. The action and drama made you turn the next page. I was surprised at the end but loved it. I can't wait til the next story.
Awesome! Another fantastic book by Sheri Lyn. This book drew me in and I did not put it down. There was not a good spot to stop. Valac is being tortured by his brother. He is on the run and fighting for his life and sanity. Rogue knows Valac is his mate from the moment he sees him. Just, how to tell him? How to keep him safe? I loved the way these two get together and how their relationship progresses. Even if Barbara Wolfe is up to her normal matchmaking and pushes Rogue into revealing Valac is his mate. Be prepared for some laugh out loud fun. It is also a deep and emotional book. My heart went out to Valac. Sheri Lyn wrote it in such a way that I could feel his torture. Yes, there is an HEA but the journey .... oh wow.
Kind of a sweeter story, even with the torments and evil. Kind of keeps going with demon background story, but a sweet love story all it's own. Wish we for more background and detail depth on Rouge but I loved it just the same!
Rogue is a quiet wolf shifer in his pack located in Blue Creek. He witness hell beasts in alleyway and report to his Aphlas about it. Valac been running away from his older brother Aeron from hell and Jericho is his other brother which him helped escape with his mate and friends from hell. Cadence is his half sister that allows him stay in her cabin to protect him from their brother and recover from fighting the hell beasts. Rogue knows they are mates but he is kinda shy and doesn't want to add any more stress on Valac. He tries to give him space which is what Candence think Valac needs. Valac keep hearing and dream people being torture which he fear that he may go insane. Rogue continue to seek out Valac and comfort him in his wolf form. Valac and Rogue are cute together and Barbara made Rogue to make a move on his mate in hs human form. Rogue help make a bucket list for Valac to experience things that he have not done. I would recommend this book to someone who love to read paranormal romance books.
When I first picked up this book I want expecting to connect so much with characters or to feel so sad and sympathetic. It was an emotional surprise and I could not stop reading it. The message was clear and so poetically written, throw in some laughter and a happy ending and it's made perfect.
Character breakdown;
Rogue; I didn't know the reason Rogue was a recluse of sorts but the lack of socializing I can relate to. His devotion to be the light in someone's darkness was the best part of him.
Valac; though he had literal demons this could be anyone suffering with metaphoric ones. When you have to fight to stay sane or above water it gets hard. Especially if you go at it alone, doesn't hurt to have someone helping along the way.
This book may not be a "typical" pnr but it is a worthy one to read.
I really enjoyed the story in this book just like I have enjoyed her other books. You could understand the feelings coming from all the characters in the story.
Usually I don't have many complaints in the reviews, but I found this one to be important and the reason I gave it 4 stars. There should have been a way to tell when they were speaking in their minds and when they we speaking out loud. It tended to get confusing as you were reading along. Many times I was missing what was going on and I had to go back and read again for clarification.
What’s a demon to do when he is running from Hell? Trust in those who care for him, like his brother and newly found sister, learn to embrace his magical side, and trust in the feelings he is developing for a wolf who is his fated mate (unbeknownst to him). Rogue, the wolf in this scenario, also must learn to trust that those around him will do anything to protect his mate and prevent the demons torturing him from returning him to Hell. How far will these mates go to be together and what does the goddess Hecate have to do with it? I do hope this author has more stories from this pack, as I would love to see how all the mates develop!
Tortured Mate speaks to the saving grace of love. Valac is on the run and just trying to stay alive. Wolf shifter Rogue appears just as an exhausted Valac is beset by overwhelming odds and helps stave them off until help arrives. What neither expected was to find in each other their mate. This is a sweet tale that brings these two very different guys into each others lives and allows them to find something in the other that brings them peace and love.
This is third book in this series and I absolutely loved it. I had been hoping we'd get Valac's story since he'd shown up in Jericho's. Boy was I happy and in no way disappointed when I seen he got his story with Rogue. These two are so amazing together and so glad they got their own happy ending.
A really good continuation of the first two books it makes me think that this series could go on and on but I’m not sure that there is another book in this series
