The Hostile Operations Team is a covert military Black Ops unit. Their motto is Where None Dare. H.O.T. operators come from all branches of the military. The only criteria for membership: they must be the best of the best!

She’s damaged...

Brooke Sullivan’s carefully ordered existence is spiraling out of control. A year ago, she was violently abducted by a terrorist group and nearly killed. She’s worked hard to get her life back on track—moving to a new house, changing careers, going on a couple of dates. When she witnesses a murder, she’s plunged into a new nightmare. And as the past threatens to repeat itself, she’s not sure she’ll survive this time.

He’s ruthless...

Cade “Saint” Rodgers never forgot the beautiful girl he talked to at the wedding of his commanding officer. Now she’s in trouble, and he’s the one tasked with protecting her. Brooke is terrified of men like him—a Black Ops soldier for whom violence is a way of life—which makes falling for her a terrible idea. But that won’t stop Cade from using every sensual trick he’s got to make her believe anything is possible if only she wants it badly enough.

Together, they’re combustible...

As danger draws closer, it’ll take all of Cade’s strength—and all of Brooke’s determination—to learn how to let go of the past and trust each other. But it might not be enough. To keep her safe, he may have to let her go forever.

He didn’t know what this woman was doing to him, but he was as helpless to fight it as she was.

I swear, it doesn't matter how many books are in this series, I will never get tired of it. Lynn Raye Harris is a master at crafting high octane and action packed tales that are brimming with passion and heat. I'm seriously obsessed with her words!
You’ve been nothing but decent to me.”
It was work to contain the inner beast that wanted out. The one who wanted to conquer and pleasure this woman until she couldn’t stand. Until she couldn’t think a single thought except his name. “Just so you know, Brooke… You’re my favorite dirty thought. The first dirty thought of my day and the last in the evening. I imagine you naked, beneath me, surrounding me. What I’m thinking is anything but decent.”

HOT Angel finally brings the story of Cade “Saint” Rodgers and Brooke Sullivan, who you may remember as Grace Campbell's best friend who gets kidnapped for her association in Hot Ice. Years later, Brooke is still dealing with everything about her ordeal and the internal and external scars it left behind. Her attraction to a lethal soldier like Cade both enthralls and terrifies her. But Cade isn't at all like the dangerous men that kidnapped and held her. He may be lethal, but all that skills is focused on her protection.

Their connection was a sweet one. At times almost a little too sweet for my personal tastes, but it fit the characters and their romance. Admittedly, the overuse of the Angel endearment grated on me at times, but I also loved how sweet, attentive and caring Cade was to Brooke. I loved watching Brooke slowly but surely get some of her confidence back. The pacing of the story is slow to start, but really picks up towards the end. There's some action and suspense thrown in to give it that added that bit of spark.

In usual Harris fashion, she gives you a satisfying HEA while also whetting your appetitive for the next book with the last chapter. I'm already salivating after reading that set up, because YUM! All in all, another fantastic addition to one of my favorite romantic suspense series!

Absolutely loved this addition to the HOT series. Cade Rodgers, with a D, and Brooke, with an e, have amazing chemistry. We first meet Brooke back in book 7 when she was kidnapped by the bad guys to try and convince her bestie to give up a super virus. Then we see her again at the end of Book 11 at Mendez's wedding. Their relationship starts with texts....lots of hot, smoky texts with eggplants and cats (pussies). Action, adventure, hot sex, and some angst ensue with a HEA.

Nice epilogue as a preview into the next book, Hacker.

My only complaint...no Ian Black

Another wonderful installment in Ms. Harris's HOT series of romantic suspense novels. This one featuring Cade "Saint" Rodgers and former kidnapping victim Brooke Sullivan. To be honest, this one felt a little light on the suspense to me (although it was certainly there, including a very satisfying climactic battle), but I LOVED the romance in this one.

Brooke Sullivan has survived, and little more, following a harrowing kidnapping experience that left her emotionally scarred, hesitant to trust, and uncomfortable around big, strong, alpha men--especially ones who wear guns and know violence firsthand--like all the HOT heroes of Echo & Alpha squads. But Cade is an exceptional hero--yes, he's all big and badass and protective when he needs to be, but he also is a quiet, patient man. He's drawn to Brooke, but respects her need for distance and patience because of her PTSD. I loved watching how they became friends, then sexting buddies, then the real deal at the pace Brooke needed. She had all the feels and sexual attraction, just like Cade, but had a lot of emotional baggage to overcome in order to risk a real relationship. But he was with her every step of the way.

When her neighbor is murdered, and a string of dangerous events starts unfolding around her, Brooke turns to her friend for help and to regain her precarious sense of security. The standard bad guys being bad, and calling in the team for backup, etc. ensues. Once they come together, it's clear Cade and Brooke are meant for each other--she just needs to heal enough to risk giving her heart to the kind of man who scares her most.

Plus, there's a wonderful dog in the story. How can you go wrong? ;)

The Hostile Operations Team books and their spinoff series with the SEALS remain my favorite books from Lynn Raye Harris. These books are like crack to me and I have to devour each one as soon as it hits my kindle. HOT Angel pulled me in from the very first page!

Brooke Sullivan is still recovering from being abducted and held hostage over a year ago. She has moved into a condo and gotten a great dog, Max, but really hasn't dated anyone she was really interested in since she got home. She has only really dated one guy who she isn't attracted to that makes her feel safe.

Brooke is attracted to Cade "Saint" Rodgers, and he doesn't make her feel safe in the least. She is insanely attracted to him and while she feels safe enough to engage in texting conversations, Cade is such a big man she is a bit intimidating to Brooke in the beginning. I honestly loved they started their relationship via texting. Cade knew Brooke was extra special and he wanted her in his life, and I loved he let her set the pace of how they moved along. I honestly felt like they connected so well and so fast because Brooke had that initial distance of text only that she started to trust Cade way faster than she would have based upon his career and all she had been through with her kidnapping.

When Brooke's neighbor Scott is murdered, Brooke is the only person who might have seen the killer leaving their floor. Scott was completely fixated on Brooke and totally believed there was more to their relationship than Brooke saw. I loved that when Brooke realized she needed someone, her first thought was Cade rather than her best friend Grace. I felt like this was really when Brooke and Cade's relationship started moving into more of a couple than friends only.

I loved Brooke and Cade as a couple. They had amazing chemistry together, but it was when Brooke opened up and shared everything that had gone on when she was abducted that I knew they would make it as a couple. I absolutely loved Cade and Brooke as a couple. While she didn't love Cade's job, she totally accepted how necessary it was and how great he was at it. I knew at some point Cade would have to protect Brooke once her neighbor was murdered, and I honestly fell in love with the HOT guys all over again as they worked together to rescue Brooke from the bad guys.

HOT Angel is absolutely another winner in the Hostile Operations Team series. Lynn Raye Harris once again gives her readers a sexy romance with action that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.

HOT Angel was intense when I read the book, and even more so when I listened to Callie Dalton & Gregory Salinas. Ms. Harris continues to pick the best narrators for each of her stories. Both Ms. Dalton and Mr. Salinas kept me in the story and on the edge of my seat as I listened to Brooke and Cade's story. I know the fact that these books are some of my favorites ever, might make me love the audiobooks so very much. That being said, even with books I love, if the narrators take me out of the story, it messes up the book. Both narrators were absolute rock stars with this book, and I highly recommend both to audiobook listeners.

This is an exciting, suspenseful romance. I can’t begin to imagine what Brooke went through when she was kidnapped and the kidnappers thought she was the President’s daughter. I felt bad that she was having such a hard time getting over it two years later. Her bestie, Grace who is the President’s daughter, was married to a Hot team member. This is how Brooke met Cade or as his team called him Saint. I was surprised she was attracted to him because he was a big burly guy that she shied away from. I was so glad that Cade was patient with her and she felt safe to lean on him. Especially when her neighbor is killed and she saw the killer. Her life gets extra exciting (which she does not need) when she is targeted by a cartel. She had such a kind heart and that led to some betrayal from someone she liked. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it.

Sizzling HOT romance, unexpected obstacles and high octane military action combine to make this a page turning novel. Cade "Saint" Rodgers and Brooke Sullivan are the true epitome of two individuals not looking for love but finding it unexpectedly. The patience, persistence and honesty shared between this couple produced great chemistry.

Two years ago Brooke was taken hostage, used as a bargaining tool by terrorists who really wanted her best friend and successfully rescued by HOT. Fast forward - the couple initially met at a wedding and then separately attended a football watch party at her best friends's house and exchanged telephone numbers. Their conversations started off as text messages and then the rest is history.

I received an ARC for an honest review! Happy Reading!

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author. We meet Cade aka Saint, and he is another member of the Hot team, who make up a group of military men that are as Hot as their name. We had read about Brooke in the previous book, when she was taken hostage in order to get her bestie. As we know she was rescued by none other than yup you guessed the Hot Team. In Mendez wedding Brooke and Cade reconnect, they swapped telephone numbers and start with the "hot" texting. And we are off-now we get action. Enjoy!

Brooke was first introduced in Hot Ice when she was kidnapped as part of Grace/Garrett’s story. By the end of the book, it was clear she wasn’t alright and there needed to be closure. Hot Angel brought that closure and then some. It’s been two years since Brooke was kidnapped. We’ve seen a glimpse of her here and there and then a tease when she and Cade meet at Mendez’s wedding. What could have been a stereotypical storyline was turned into something realistic and easily empathetic, painful but hopeful, and vulnerable but strong.

Do I wish there had been a little more shoot ‘em up action? Yeah, but it would have distracted from the connection and point of the story. Even better, the book has introduced a whole new team of characters and future books. You know there are the “never gonna happen to me” dudes, but Hacker… I’m ready for his story. And Ian (only briefly mentioned, darnit)! And Alex!!

Slight tangent, but something I noticed about both characters… 2017 and 2018 have brought on a different mindset and awareness with the #metoo movement, including pop culture - reading, television, etc. (For example, I loved Three’s Company and now I cringe.) I’ve been reading how authors and readers are thinking twice about their characters and their behaviors. The idea of an overbearing alpha may not be as appealing and is a bit tricky now. All that to say, I can’t think of a Lynn Raye Harris HOT book that didn’t have an equally strong heroine to match her hero. As much as Cade was all alpha and the added strength she needed to heal, Brooke did it on her own and was her own “alpha.”

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I just don't even know what to say. SPOILERS. Firstly the "filler" parts of this book are exactly the same as one of her books in the Bandits series perhaps copy and pasting was used? Secondly as someone who was sexually assaulted i took huge offense to this its like there was no research, no sensitivity nothing. She was raped and its clear to begin with Brooke is shy and skittish yet the "hero" just stares at her breasts oggling her and always goes on about sex ... and when she finally has sex with him she turns into a slut about it. Yet she repeats on and on and on and on about how she doesn't like guns how they make her feel uncomfortable how men make her nervous. Did I mention she goes on and on and on about it? BUT then when she gets a call Knowing full well she is being hunted by the bad guys she just trots off to IHop without calling her boyfriend all alone at night... I mean I just couldn't read it, looking at the stars it has i really think i must be reading something different to everyone else.

My assault happened 16 years ago and im Still skittish around big crowds and even now I don't always like my husband touching me sexually as i still have my "triggers" . I DO NOT recommend this book won't be reading anymore by this author.

HOT Angel is a new standalone novel in the HOT series from Lynn Raye Harris.

I was provided with an ARC of this book.

I love this series and - as usual - I fell in love with the characters in book #12. Cade "Saint" Rodgers is a special operator - guns and dangerous situations come daily in his Job. Brooke Sullivan is an abduction victim and avoids men like him - alpha and lethal - but there's something special in Cade which makes Brooke willing to get over her fears.

I'm sure you'll love this couple! The story is suspenseful, funny and sizzling HOT - their first kiss - OMG! I couldn't put this book down and I already can't wait for the next story in the series!

5 Star Review Hot Angel

Audio:

This was an entertaining romantic suspense story that ticked all the boxes for me. Well written, the narration was good and the narrators, and   were easy to listen to. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story that was told. There were equal amounts of romance and suspense which was entertaining. The characters were easy to relate to and I really liked them.

Cade and Brooke's story was a roller coaster of emotions, you could tell Brooke had been holding back from her kidnapping more had to have happened for her not to be able to move past it but it just took meeting the right person to make her face it and Cade was that person and not just because he was a hot guy...lol mind you that spark didn't hurt but they just seemed to connect instantly on such a deep level it would have been a complete waste to have not put 100% into figuring herself out and then figuring out THEM lol and they did and they work but you have to get through the roller coaster of drama, adventure and fear first lol.

This was a much better fit for me. Kade and Brooke are well matched, all the swoons regards a romantic suspense but Brooke is amazingly strong if not the unluckiest person alive when it comes to bad guys. I suspect this had a bunch of Easter eggs that I didn’t recognise only realising belatedly this is strike team 2 so I’m sure there is a strike team 1.

You know with a LRH book you get a stellar cast with awesome personalities and a gripping suspenseful storyline. Brooke has been through the wringer and struggles every day with PTSD. Knowing Brooke's past doesn't stop Cade, he helps her through it and makes her stronger. Always a fabulous read that I can't put down. Each book we meet new team members, leaving us to hope for their future book. This time we met Hacker, the soft cliffhanger leaves us the opening to his story. My copy was given from the author and my review written voluntarily.

Another winner from Lynn Raye Harris!
I love Cade and Brooke’s chemistry. I love how patient Cade is with Brooke. Lynn is pretty gifted when it comes to writing about a badass alpha who is sweet and sensitive at the same time. How can Brooke not feel cherished and treasured with a man like Cade treating her the way he does? Perfect! Look out for this one. It’s gonna pull at your heartstrings and make you fall in love with Cade and Brooke.

The books in this series have become predictable yet still enjoyable. All the men on this special ops team have an uncanny knack at being incredible at oral sex and the woman all describe it the same. Perhaps that’s what I still find enjoyable 😂

Hot Angel
Hostile Operations Team 2, Book 1
Lynn Raye Harris, author

Another steamy novel by Ms. Harris. This one a wee bit different from her other novels. Excellent dialogue, characterization and plot nonetheless. So dive in and enjoy, yet another stormy, intriguing and tantalizing story.

Cade, "Saint" Rogers and Brooke Sullivan are definitely attracted to one another. But it is enough? Brooke is wounded, in the psychological sense, and has a fear of men like Cade. Will she be able to overcome her fear enough to allow Cade into her life?

Meanwhile, she comes upon the body of her neighbor and calls Cade to the rescue. With his help will she be transported back to the time when she was abducted? Thereby, obliterating all the process she has made to get to the point she is at in her life? Read this engrossing novel, as Cade helps Brooke solve the mystery of her neighbors death. Of course, he will bring in the powers of H.O.T. What will they uncover? Is Brooke is jeopardy of yet another horrific situation? Will she come out whole and with her sanity if she survives?

I was gifted an audible copy of the novel and leave this review voluntarily.

Unlucky for me that the last books I read are not what I expected. Mainly because the heroines are unbearable.

Here, Brooke IMO is too weak and stupid as well. Yes, she went through a traumatic kidnapping but a girl need to be stronger than that.

If you are weak please don't act stupid as well. They say don't go anywhere but what she does? Of course she left Grace's house (which really secure because there's a presidential secret service) to fell into trap her friend set up for her.

The only reason I enjoy this book is because I hate to DNF a book and for Cade. For a badass military man, he sure has a gentle heart to put up with Brooke's baggage.

Hope in the next books I read, there will be no unbearable heroine or hero.

Boy do I like all things HOT!

Lynn Raye Harris has once again hit the ball out of the park with Hot Angel , part of Hostile Operations Team- Strike team 2. This novel picks up where HOT- Strike team1 let's off.
While Lynn brings back characters from Team 1, all those hotties are too swoon for- Hot Angel starts with the leader for Strike Team 2 - Cade Rodgers, and his team members.

There is lots of nail-biting action in HOT Angel. Lynn Raye Harris realistically depicts the personalities of these of these Black Ops hotties. I could immediately relate to both Cade and his soul-mate Brooke because I recognized the type. Having married my own Special Ops honey, during a war, I know these men can be super-alphas, hardheaded and overprotective but romantic softies when around the women they love. And while their fearless can scare you, at the same time you can never feel safer than you do when you are with them. Lynn captures this sentiment perfectly. Many times Cade's sensitivity to Brooke and his gentle manners around her brought tears to my eyes. And when the team got together in their downtime in HOT Angel, I laughed and remember many a raucous good time spent at team get togethers.
Don't get me started on Lynn Raye Harris very explicit sex scenes! WOW! I found my heart rate accelerating and my palms sweating reading this stuff. I have to wonder how these guys find the energy for these bedroom activities after a mission like they experienced! Needless to say the romance is steamy.
But what I love the most about HOT Angel , is when it is all said and done, this novel isn't about great sex or heart stopping missions, it is about finding the one person who loves you faults and all. The person who loves you for no special reason , just because. And it is about a group of people who because of training and shared experience and yes ,love become closer to you than family. The HOT Strike teams in Lynn Raye Harris novels are friends for life. And in reality, special ops men and women I have known feel the same way about their teammates. I guess it is memories of times spent on different posts with different teams that HOT Angel invokes, is what keeps me reading every thing Lynn Raye Harris writes!

There's some basic tropes for a military romance here. There's the super hot passion deal. There's the smoking hot Delta team/SEAL/Special Forces/Green Beret/whatever secret org dude who has slept with a pile o women in the past and doesn't plan to settle down anytime soon. He's feeling the loneliness of his way of life, but can't imagine any other way.

The FMC is the victim of a kidnapping and unrevealed assault. She's spent two years trying to get back on her feet but hasn't shared all of her experience with her therapist, who sounds like she's missed a few boats. The FMC and the MMC clocked each other at a party, and that's where our story starts.

And this is where things started to feel just the tiniest bit creepy for me.

It was so clear that the FMC was traumatized and still not anywhere close to handling daily life, let alone a super smoking uber $exed up manly man ready to test all her physical limits in the sack and maybe push some too. Yet, instantly, both the leads are in tease mode, sending lots of smexy texts, followed by more smexy texts, mutual satisfaction on a nightly basis, and many confident boasts about upcoming physical events. The FMC continues to state she's not ready, and the MMC agrees. But the behaviors continue, and it felt a little uncomfortable.

Along with all this, the FMC sadly became a victim AGAIN because she unwisely briefly dated an intense neighbor. So now she's the damsel in distress as well as the traumatized victim who hasn't dealt with her previous trauma, and now has more anxiety over her new victimhood. That's the situation the FMC is in, yet she's also beginning a relationship that's way way out of her experience. It really felt anxious to me, and not a good thing. The MMC was constantly working hard to maintain his control over his physical body and great need to slam this woman. Again, just a little too much pressure on a woman not ready for it. The feeling was uncomfortable instead of $exy.

Lynn Raye Harris is a good author. She writes well, with a nice flow. She can really do a military romance. This one just wasn't quite as good as it. would have been. She wrote the FMC as too victimized, and too far away from healing to be part of an intense romantic relationship.

This is another fantastic book in the HOT series and the reason why Lynn Raye Harris is a favourite of mine. I devoured Hot Angel in one sitting. I was pulled in from the first page.

Hot Angel focuses on the leader of the Echo Squad, Cade ‘Saint’ Rodgers and Brook Sullivan, who we met briefly in Hot Ice. A quick recap on Brooke, she was abducted in Hot Ice due to her friendship with the President’s daughter, Grace.

In Hot Angel we learn that Brooke is still recovering from her abduction. Her life has completely changed, she hasn’t been able to trust anyone that much and as a result she hasn’t dated anyone in two years. She has only really dated one guy, a guy who she isn’t really attracted to but allows her to say within the shield she has built around herself.

Cade is your sexy strong leader but one who has a soft and sensitive heart. When he bumps into Brooke at a HOT gathering he notices that she is still struggling to deal with the trauma of her kidnapping.

Cade scares Brooke, he makes her feel unsafe, but she can’t deny the attraction that she feels. Not ready to start a relationship, she exchanges numbers with Cade what starts off as innocent, friendly texting starts to become something so much more.

When Brooke stumbles upon her neighbour’s murder and finds herself in danger once again she turns to Cade for help. Cade will do anything to protect Brooke.

I loved how the relationship between Cade and Brooke develops. Cade knows that he must be patient and allow Brooke to set the pace on their relationship. It shows that he is the perfect man for Brooke.

I loved Brooke’s character, I thought she was well written and despite her past she was willing to trust in herself and her relationship with Cade. You could understand her hesitation in Cade’s job, the danger that he would constantly face. But it was her belief in Cade and her understanding that his job allows him to save people like her which showed Brooke’s character.

This is a sweet romance with a hint of danger mixed in to keep LRH readers on their toes. It is certainly worth a read. I, for one can’t wait to read the next instalment in the HOT series.

HOT Angel was an enjoyable, light read that served as a nice palate cleanser after the emotional whirlwind of book #3 my current series. It’s fast-paced and engaging—I finished it in just two days, which speaks to its ability to hold my interest. While it’s not a book I would rave about, it delivered exactly what it promised: a steamy romance with action and suspense woven in.

The plot was solid, and the author did a good job bringing the characters to life. Cade Rodgers, in particular, was clearly crafted for female readers’ enjoyment—confident, sexy, and dripping with charisma. Brooke, on the other hand, felt a bit one-dimensional. While her backstory included elements of trauma, the portrayal leaned too heavily into the “hot blonde” trope, leaving her character with less depth than I would have liked.

I came into this book with tempered expectations, knowing it was a steamy romance and part of a series with multiple prior releases. As someone who typically prefers more intricate fantasy novels or deeper narratives, this type of story isn’t my usual go-to. That said, the suspenseful storyline kept me hooked. However, the pacing of the “smut” was a bit off for my taste. I expected a steady dose throughout the book, but instead, there was a concentrated “smut dump” in the middle, followed by intense action, and then a sprinkling of romance and intimacy toward the end. While I appreciated the romance and how the action scenes ramped up, the balance felt uneven.

One thing I will credit the author for is their smart tactic of leading into the next story. The ending left just enough intrigue to make me curious about the next book in the series—even if I didn’t completely love this one. It’s an effective way to keep readers invested and wanting more.

Overall, HOT Angel was entertaining but lacked the depth and complexity I usually crave. If you’re looking for an easy, suspenseful, and steamy read, this book might hit the spot. For me, it was a fun, fleeting distraction but not one I’d return to.

"I feel like I'm on a train that's speeding toward a cliff. And I can't jump off."
"So, we'll go over the edge together. We'll sail over the side of the cliff and find out if we crash and burn - or whether we fly."

HOT HOT HOT!! And I don't just mean Hostile Operations Team! I think Cade is my favorite, but then I say that about each of the HOT members!

Cade "Saint" Rodgers wasn't on the rescue mission when HOT saved Brooke Sullivan. He only knows a little about what she went through. But he wants to get to know her. He knows he scares her - all of the HOT team members scare her. Who could blame her after being kidnapped and threatened? If all she's able to do is talk to him via text messages, then that's what he'll do. As her walls start to come down, danger finds her once again. Can he protect her from having to endure another traumatic event? Will the walls he's been slowly breaking down be built back up - this time will they impenetrable? Not on his watch.

Brooke Sullivan has spent the last two years just trying to hold it together. Men like Cade Rodgers frighten her. She doesn't like guns or the life he leads. But she's drawn to him. Starting with text messages is the only way she knows to explore what she's feeling. He's becoming the only man she even remotely trusts. When she finds herself the only witness to a murder, and there's a target on her back, she knows the only man that can help her is Cade. When her past seems to be repeating itself, and she once again finds her very life in danger, will she be able to get through it intact, or will this finally push her to the point of no return?

Love, love, love the HOT series. The men are all deliciously alpha and sweet all at the same time.
I know at some point this series will come to an end, but please not yet!!
