Hello! Thank you for stopping by. The short story is I was born in Toronto, Canada. When I was 16, my family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and that is where I met my wife, Bev. We've been married for 43 years and share our home in Southwest Missouri with 4 dogs, 3 cats, 8 chickens, a herd of goats. We have 3 sons and 12 grandchildren that keep us hopping. I've been known to ride my motorcycle in nice weather, play golf in nice weather, and tend my garden in nice weather. In bad weather, I prefer to stay inside. :) Thanks to the support of you, our readers, I've been able to devote full time to my writing. Bev does our cover designs. We hope you our books are enjoyable and you'll let us know. Please feel free to contact us at: jdalglish7@gmail.com or on Facebook God Bless, John & Bev
Loveable, caring characters. Shane Jordan, character will take to lowest low to happy, tearful high. So far read couple of the books in this series, plan to read all of them. Like the author's writing style.
I really like the Clean Suspense series. I could almost not put it down. The author make you feel as if you are one of the characters. In this book the they lose one of there own. and it gives you a sense of pride that they all come together for each other. He make you feel as if they are one big family, and shows that they try to led a normal life outside of the police department. I am looking forward to the next one in the series.
Detectives TJ Samms and Shane Jordan are called out to a crime scene in North Seattle. It goes from a normal shooting to something more complicated. Nothing will be the same.
I love these books. Great characters. Exciting moving plot. The best point - they are clean. No curse words. No R rated scenes.
I've read all 6 books in this series. This is my favorite but they are all very good. Good story lines that keep me reading into the night, when I should be sleeping! Now moving on to the next series by this author. Highly recommend!
This is a great story, probably the best in the series so far. It’s not only an excellent police procedural but it also brings home the risks that police face every day. The dangers, difficulties, effects on family and the camaraderie between officers comes through well in this audiobook. It’s a story that will pull at your heart and bring tears to your eyes. The narrator really does a good job of making you feel the tension and emotions in the book, and gives the characters individual voices. You soon become attached to the characters and the intriguing storyline definitely keeps you captivated throughout the book.
This installment of the City Murders was an excellent and wonderful read. Two police detectives who are partners and also very close friends are investigating a homicide that is truly puzzling. With more questions than answers it proves very tough going trying to suss out clues and ascertain facts.
Very well written as are all of the previous books I have read by this author, it held my intetest.from beginning to end. Finely drawn realistic characters, intriguing storyline and for myself buckets of tears midway through the book. And isn't that the mark of a truly gifted author, to wring every possible emotion out of you. To become so invested in the plot that it seems as if you are there, part of the investigation and that the main characters might walk off the page, sit down with you and ask for coffee.
T. J. Sims and Shane Jordan have been partners in the Seattle Police as well as close friends for a long time. They get called to a scene in North Seattle, where they find a woman sitting on her front stoop with her dead brother in her arms. She tells them she heard several shots and ran outside to find her brother. As she came out she saw a care with three men drive away.
They soon find a neighbor who heard only one shot and no car. The autopsy showed that there must have been a lot more bleeding than accounted for on the front stoop, and the gun was very close. They try to get into the house, but the woman keeps putting them off. Finally they get a warrant. When they get in the house, they see a hole in the rug and signs it had been cleaned with bleach.
Now things are much more complicated, and things happen that change the lives of all the major characters.
Since I spent my “growing-up” years in Seattle near Holly Park and the first 40 years of marriage in the greater Seattle area, it was intriguing to read about all the places and streets so familiar to me. This was, in my opinion, well written and very accurate in pinpointing the various locations.
The above heading is indeed a weird thing to say,but it's true about this book. Mr. Smallish paints an emotional story of police officers who risk their lives to protect the innocent and bring criminals to justice. I never give details about what the book is about. Hopefully what I have written will entice you to read this emotional thriller.
I have become a huge John Dalglish fan. I will probably end up reading everything he has written. Characters are always interesting and stories are told at a good pace. Seattle Homicide did require tissues for me to get through the book, but don't let that stop you from reading it.
This was my favorite in the series. So emotional. I felt so involved in the story. It truly depicts the brotherhood of law enforcement. I have to admit I cried. I hope there are more books in this series.
All of the City Murders books are great reading. The characters are people you can relate to and care about. The plots are very interesting. I can't put them down until I'm finished.
This was an easy read, but suspenseful. Being from the Seattle area i was familiar with many of places. Very good character development & description of loss & grief. Kudos to the folks in blue for their service.
I truly enjoyed this book. Easy read hard to put down. I enjoyed the close relationship the two detectives had with each other. I enjoyed the way the writer had written each place there were going. Not seen that before in any book. Read it and you will see what I mean.
It’s amazing how quickly he develops his characters. It lets you be a part of the story and share in everything that happens to them. Plus he gets into the nitty-gritty of being a cop. Just a great writer!
Number six gets the kicks!!!!!. I'm really liking the author's style. This one I couldn't put it down until I finished this book.i recommend this book to all Dalglish fans
This was the best of the series for me. I love Seattle and I got to really like Shane. Now, I peeked ahead and realized we're going to get much more of Shane. Can't wait!
a book that's about the two best friends and their families are friends. the are both police dective.they are investing a murder and one dective is murdered.
I have read and enjoyed many of the John Dalglish mysteries but not this one so much. It was not at all what I expected. There was almost no suspense to this book and no following of clues to solve a mystery. And given what has been happening with killing of policemen in my city of Denver, this story hit a little too close to home for me to enjoy it. During my daily commute to work, I listen to books. I really like to have a book that sucks me in, keeps me engaged until the very end. For some reason this book did neither. I was able to anticipate who performed the shootings without much difficulty and there wasn’t much tension even in the last scene. I would have liked to know more about the characters that committed the shooting. It did seem to be drug related but there wasn’t much history to them. Will I read more of these books? Yes, I plan to do so. But I would like for them to be a bit more gritty with clue following. I do appreciate that they are clean mysteries. So many stories are not these days. I received a copy of the book for reading and reviewing. The comments are my own.
