Very good book. Isabella had come to Weaver to get Murphy out of the city where he was constantly getting into trouble. The problem is that Murphy is full of fear and anger which makes him do stupid things. When he gets into it with Erik Isabella begs him not to send Murphy to the sheriff, so Erik sets it up so that Murphy comes to his ranch to work off the damages. Isabella is terrified that Murphy will be taken away from her. He is all that's left of her relationship with his father, who she still loves. She can't imagine ever wanting someone else. She doesn't expect this attraction to Erik and she doesn't want it. She feels it's more important to devote her energies to Murphy. Having grown up in the foster care system she doesn't want that life for him. She also is very wary of getting involved with or close to anyone because in her experience relationships never last. She doesn't quite know what to do with Erik and his family who just absorb her and Murphy into their circle without even thinking about it. Erik tells her that he wants her in his life but that he's willing to wait until she's ready. I felt so bad for Isabella and her certainty that nothing good in her life ever lasts. That's why she clung to her memories of her fiance and was afraid to open herself up to Erik's love.

Erik was great. His introduction to Murphy wasn't the greatest, but I loved the way that he was willing to work with Isabella. Part of that was because he saw something of himself in Murphy and part was because he was so attracted to Isabella right from the start. He fights it a little at first because he doesn't think he wants the whole marriage and family thing yet. But he soon realizes that what he feels for her is very different than what he's felt for anyone else. I loved the way that he took charge of Murphy and didn't let him get away with things. He also gave Murphy the attention that he needed. I loved the way that Erik was honest about his feelings to Isabella but also told her that he wouldn't push. He had a terrific way of sensing what she needed and being able to do something about it. I loved the way he was so close to his family and how that made him able to help Murphy and Isabella.

I love books with big families that are so supportive of each other. There is always someone who has just what is needed to help the current hero or heroine.

4 stars. Loved this story from the start. Isabella Lockhart has moved to Weaver to get her ward away from trouble in the city, unfortunately he seems to be able to find it just as well in Weaver when he takes is anger out on a stained glass window in Erik Clay's truck. Erik recognises that the boy needs direction and puts him to work on his ranch to pay off the debt, although having the excuse to being around Isabella certainly sways him. Isabella promised her dying fiance that she would look after his son and with him getting into trouble is under the scrutiny of child services who will report on heer ability to do so. She is swamped with trying to juggle work, a new home and an angry young boy who is trying to recover from the loss of his father and certainly doesn't have time for the complication that is the attraction to Erik Clay. Will Erik be able to show her that she can have it all and doesn't need to shut him out. Another great story from Weaver where family and love is everything. Good recommended read

I really liked this story. It's not easy moving on from a relationship that only seemed to have started. It's also not easy starting a ready made family. I think I've liked this one best so far of the Weaver books I've read so far.

In Weaver Vow Isabella Lockhart has left everything she knows for the sake of her late fiance's little boy Murphy. Murphy was getting into so much trouble back in New York. So she got permission to take him and move to Wyoming. Murphy has so much anger in him after his dad died.

Isabella is working at a cafe and teaching dance lessons to make ends meet. Isabella was raised in foster care and does not want the same thing for Murphy. She used to do costumes for balet the same company as her new boss Lucy.

Isabella heard yelling outside while she was closing the cafe, when she recognized Murphy's voice she ran. She found Murphy with his bat beside a man who was angry. A broken stain glass window in the back of the truck from a baseball.

Erik wants to take him to sheriff to teach him a lesson. Erik is a single man with his own ranch.
He makes a deal with Isabella and Murphy. Murphy comes out on sat. to his ranch and he can work the rest of the school year and summer to pay for it. It would not even make a dent on the cost of the window that Erik was donating to the church in town.

Erik who was given the stainglass window by a girlfriend who was getting to serious they broke up. He was not ready for marriage he said. Now he could see himself with Isabella.

Isabella was not ready to date. Either was Murphy ready for her to date either. Isabella was still waiting to see if her having custody of Murphy will be granted. He needed to be stable and not get into trouble for awhile.

I like Erik's family and would love go back to earlier books and see more of thier stories sometime. They are so welcoming to Isabella and Murphy. Everyone calls her Erik's girl and she keeps telling them she is not. Most of Erik's female relatives are in Isabella yoga class. The dance studio she works in is owned by Erik's cousin Lucy. Isabella does not know for the longest time is the cafe she works in is actually owned by Erik and his brother.

It is nice to see that while Erik realizes right away that he wanted to date Isabella his treatment of Murphy is seperate from any relationship he wants with her. Erik is trying to be a good role modle and teach him the way a man should be raised.

I like the town of Weaver and would love to come back and read about the people again.

This book tells the story of Isabella; relocate her life with her late fiance’s son to Wyoming after obtaining court’s consent. She was granted custody of Murphy and after all the troubles that he have, Isabella thought that moving them to a small community would help both of them to settle down. She found a job at the diner in the small town and teaching dance lessons. Trouble seems to keep following Murphy even though he is in a small town. He threw a baseball at Erik’s car window and smashes into pieces. Erik knew that he did it purposely and demands to take him to the station but Isabella, pleaded for him. In exchange, Isabella agreed to have Murphy to work at Erik’s ranch to repay the cost for the car window. Erik, who is the owner of the café where she is working (which she didn’t know) would easily afford to replace the window, is attracted to her and is convince that she is the right women for him is set to be there for her, eventhough after she told him that marriage and love is too farfetched for her.

I like Erik and his patience with Isabella and Murphy. As I read thru the story. It really takes one’s patience to deal with Murphy. He is obviously having personal issues; with the death of his father and his insecure feeling when he knew that Erik is attracted to Isabella. He is set out to prevent any relationship between them to blossom; i.e. by running away etc. Isabella, on the other hand, being raised in various foster homes, is determined to provide for Murphy, so as not to lose the custody granted to her. To the extent that, she is willing to let go off her feeling for Erik. I also like the Wyoming’s community and hope to read more of its people’s story again. ;)

Isabella leaves the city life to move to Weaver to raise her dead fiancée’ son. She working in a café trying her best to keep the guardianship of Murphy, which is becoming very difficult, at times I wondered if she would just give up.

Isabella meets Erik when Murphy breaks his window, and the chemistry between Isabella and Erik is hot. Isabella is not ready to date, she still wears her engagement ring on her finger. Until she can take the ring off and open her heart to Erik he decides to stay away from her.

This book has an interesting storyline, but is very slow at times. Some parts of the story seemed dragged out. I do love the storyline and characters. Give the book a chance it did have me in tears at one point.

The only thing wrong with this book is that it wasn't long enough!! ;-)

A Weaver Vow by Allison Leigh: I will preface my review by mentioning that I had never read any of Ms. Leigh’s Weaver-centric stories. That being said, I am planning to find the books dealing with the Double-C ranch and the Clay family so I can start to make my way through those series’ ASAP! This …Read More

I think one of the hardest parts about a series is that every book adds characters. I spent the first half not very interested and trying to remember who was from prior books. The second half of the book really grabbed me, however, and I loved how the story wrapped up.
