They say that opposites attract, but these two opposites definitely repel. She owns a bakery, and is allergic to working out. He owns a gym, and thinks sugar is a sin. She likes cookies, treats, and is really quite sweet. He likes weights, protein, and is really quite mean. Will the stars align for Keisha Love and Conner O'Bryan, or will spiteful, conniving, dangerous exes continue to keep them apart?
I plowed through this in no time. Very simple to follow, but packed with a quirky heroine and a lovable hero. Not any darkness or edge. But def some sweet steam. This is a beach read on a sunny day.
This story had potential and I appreciate that it was wrapped up nicely. But ... What's up with the book cover? I'd love to know why there are two men on the cover with the heroine since this is NOT a menage romance.
This was a novella and a very short one at that. The characters were not developed at all. Is this a romance or a drama filled with intrigue? It wasn't comparable to any any interracial love story that I've read. The plot was thin. Who was the stalker - his ex-girlfriend or her ex-husband??? It was obvious from the beginning.
If you're looking for a sensual connection or for steamy, erotic sex, this is not the book for you. Still, sex aside, with more character and plot development, this could have been a really good interracial romance filled with drama and intrigue. Perhaps with more time, the author could have come up with better names - Kaybella and Keisharella??? Princesses, really kind of offensive??? Connor and Carson isn't much better.
Even more back story on the characters would have made for a more interesting read. If you need a predictable romance/drama that won't take too much time or brainpower, this is worth the money and time. It gets a 3 star rating because I finished it and didn't think anyone was TSTL nor did I consider asking for a refund. I can see this author getting better and I would consider reading another book by her.
I usually try to stay away from novellas due to authors seemmingly rushing the story together. That wasnt the case with this book. As perusual Mrs. Martin rocked this story just like all her others. Ive read every book so far and I have yet to be disappointed. Both Keisha and Connor were both likeable characters. Dylan is a major douche... as a matter of fact he's the king. I'm glad they got their HEA and the story didn't feel rushed. I wonder will Bell have a story next? If you're looking for a great read with hot scenes this is the book for you. #recommended
I love how they first met at the Organic store and her reaction to his rudeness was Hilarious especially her little dance move Keshia and Connor love story was so moving, Both hurt by thier Deranged Ass Ex's. I was happy they found each other. Connor is my Hero, Was shouting best that ass when he got a hold of Dylan Cray Cray Butt. And what in the HELL was there Mother thinking of making them Keisharella and Kaybella. Kasey Martin thanks for this Heartwarming Story of unlikely second Chances. 💞💞💞💞💞💞
A new author with an intriguing tale. Their chance meeting was the first building block of their relationship? Then throw in some crazy exes and what's not to love! Conner helped Keisha to overcome Dylan, the ex husband that was totally in left field! Now, what did Conner's parents think about Keisha? How did Conner get along with Keisha' s family, was everything lovely? What was the wedding like?
I really need to check out reviews before downloading books, fortunately this was Kindle Unlimited. Why 1 star? 1. The cover is misleading, it seems the cover should display a host of women, rather give them impression of a Reversed Harem story, it’s not. 2. Throughout the book the author keeps leading you down a path then stops and starts on a new character that was not the main character. It gets confusing and annoying. Just as you think the next chapter will continue about the H or the h, it goes into the thoughts of the person the main h just met, literally. Never goes back to the main, then the next chapter does the same thing, constantly leaving the previous character’s story unfinished. 3. Story mentions a kidnapping as if it will explain how the person was saved, that was a warning to me, but I said I would brave on and keep reading. It had a sexy cover... well that was the best part of the entire short book. 4. To be honest , I can’t recall if they even mentioned Valentine’s Day in the entire book. If they did, then oops on me, but the book was so... incomplete, it was not joking about being a novella. Maybe the author believes novella means a story is short and never concludes. 5. No one was an alpha. No one.
I really liked this book. Finally a brown girl with curly hair that wasn't size 2. Good story but bring in the REAL brown girls from the cover and description of us in your books. It was good to see you get closer to describing real brown girls with real bodies. Like that Monique liked to eat, tried to live better but she wasn't going to the gym or running 6 mi/day like Conner. She was a regular girl struggling to live as best she can. Most times, is brown girls don't have flat tummies with long flowing curls, size 2-4 in the waist. We are size 8-14 with thick thighs, flat or wider noses in all shades of brown. We have different versions of kinky hair that shrink (even though it is long and soft) and its not easy to just run your fingers thru it in its natural state. I like that your cover started to go in that direction. Keep goin, we like to read and see images of who we really are and the fact that we are desirable as we are....not replicas of Insta thots or "America's lie." We are beautiful just as we REALLY are!
This was such a fun romance with two ex-lover dramas, stalking, property damage, and attempted murder.
The characters were really likable. Connor is a successful alpha that worked hard to get where he’s at. Keisha is a small business owner, strong, but has a vulnerable side. Both main characters were betrayed in the past, which adds depth to them.
Sweet story with some action to keep things interesting. However, the synopsis was bit misleading and so was the cover with two men. 4.5 Stars.
I love Connor's and Keisha's romance story. Keisha's warm and passionate disposition attracted Connor, a man with such adoration who is fine as hell, strong and protective, especially when it came to Keisha and her crazy ex. I loved the way their love reflected off one another in the story even though they encountered a lot of bumps and humps along the way in a short amount of time. What an awesome happy ending. Enjoyed the experience mentally, spiritually and definitely physically. ReneeG 👍
I have gotten hooked on Ms. Martin’s quick, sweet easy reads. She always complexity in the intrigue brought by side characters it but the core relationships are always almost instantaneous and loyal. Keisha and Connor meet and have a negative first introduction but the universe brings them together. Keisha is being stalked by her ex husband. She and Connor prevail against him and find their HEA.
These two collide, literally, during their first meeting, and serendipity gives them a second chance at making an impression on each other. It's my favorite kind of story, where a Black woman gets a happy ending, and it's pretty steamy to boot, for a bit of Valentines Day goodness.
This was a sweet story just in time for Valentine's Day.I love that the writer moves the story at a pace that lets you know you are experiencing some of what happens in real life relationships. The two main characters are likable and you cheer for them and laugh right along.A really good story for a little romance.
Perfect little short story that packed in all it needed despite its brevity. Didn't feel cheated at all. Keisha & Conner, Bella & Carson are just adorable. I read the intro to Devilish Games and I was totally put off. Won't be bothering with that one. But An Alpha's Romance...is delightful!👍
This was an awesome short story. It was well developed and the characters were realistic. I’m not sure why some reviewers are so petty, but this story wasn’t predictable, maybe they should stick to more simplistic books if they have such an issue with great story telling🙂
Keisha is a bakery owner who meets Connor when he is having a bad day. They meet up again when her sister takes her to his newly opened gym. Like that even though their relationship in some instance seems rushed they did date. There are two crazy ex in the story to add drama. Nice read loved what he gave her for Valentine Day so they had time to get to know each other.
This book was great! I enjoyed reading about Connor and Keisha! For a minute I thought their love wasn’t going to come until later, but I’m glad how everything worked out. Dylan was no doubt crazy! And I’m happy he got what he deserved! Great job, and this was my first time reading a book from this author and it won’t be my last!!
The was a great read! Keisha literally ran into Conner in the grocery store. She was doing a little dance and he was watching her butt! That first meeting did not go well! They met again coincidentally a couple of weeks later and Conner was determined to have Keisha in his life!
This was a fast read with quite a bit of drama jammed in. I had my doubts about Connor in the begining but he came throufh in a big way. Although this book was listed as a novella, I was surprised that it was over 200 pages long. But then it ended at 70% which was still long for a novella.
I like the way Keisha and Conner met. He was so busy checking her body out he was speechless when Keisha was talking to him. I love the ending. Now all we need is Bella and Carson story.
I loved the dynamics between Connor and Keisha. They both got their HEA. The snippet to Devilish Games was quite enticing. Harper has always been a mystery and I'm looking forward to he and Elyse's story.
Connor and Keisha. This was a cute, but predictable story. They seemed to have great chemistry. I think I’ve read too many of these with this theme. It was a nice story. I hope his cousin and her sister end up with their own story?
I loved the chemistry between Keisha and Conner. I loved the sisterhood and friendship Keisha was surrounded by. It was a sweet love story and great writing by the author.
Connor and Keisha were funny and meant to be together. Their exes need therapy. Amazing what real love and passion can be like. Too bad some have to go through rough times first. I wonder about Bella and Carson.
Beautifully done Kasey!.. Short, sweet and to the point. I adore Connor, strong, loving, sometimes "grumpy"... And love Hus woman, !! Great short story. Can't wait for Carson &Bell story. 😁😁😁
Enjoyed this read. Keisha and Connor built a nice chemistry. Dylan was a dillusional mess glad that Connor was able to be there for Keisha. Connors ex was just sad hilarious when he put her in her place.
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I enjoyed reading about Keisha and Conner journey to love! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between them! Such a fantastic book!
I really liked Connor and Keisha together in this book. It read like a full novel but it was a little short on the length. The conflict with the exes was there and resolved rather quickly. I guess I'm just greedy but I like more pages in my books!
