Single Daddy Dragon

Rate this book
Dragons!

Alex has a problem. He's on the run, although he's not sure who from. After a panicked phone call from Archie's mom, Kim, he gathers up the baby and hits the road, heading for Bear Creek. But when he arrives there is no sign of Kim. However, there are signs of other dragons. Particularly one special dragon, his mate, Sapphire.
Raised by a mother who believed they were the last dragons, Alex and Archie are soon accepted into Sapphi’s family. But will his secret put the dragon family in danger?

Just because you are a powerful dragon shifter, doesn't mean life is easy. Especially, when you decide the life you mapped out for yourself, isn't the one you want. As if things weren’t complicated enough, a close encounter with her mate sends Sapphi tumbling out of the sky.

Did she mention complicated? Single-daddy-dragon kind of complicated. Not only is her mate in town, but he already has a baby. And a secret. As events unfold, Sapphi must decide where her future and her loyalties lie.

Can she find it in her heart to love baby Archie? Or will he drive a wedge between her and Alex?

Ummm....just no, experienced hero vs virgin heroine, really?

This is NOT something I expected in this series. The first two series this was the norm, but here both genders were on equal footing until this book. This almost seems like another author wrote this? “You’re so experienced, you’ll find me boring” is NOT a thought I want my heroine to think and it’s kinda hard not to think that when your mate is a manw****. Just no!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Alex and Sapphi and wee Archie is adorable. I loved how Alex came clean to Sapphi about Archie, his mum Kim and the reason that she told Alex to came to Bear Creek before Harlan questioned him about it. Man, Alex is a good friend that he fled with Archie to keep him safe after he received a text with instructions for him, with very little information as he wanted to protect Archie at all costs. I had no doubt that when either Sapphi or Ruby found their mates that they’d be interrogated by Fiona and Harlan so it doesn’t surprise me that the inquisition started pretty quickly. I liked that Sapphi’s family helped straight away once Alex filled them in and they helped try and track down any information that could help Archie be reunited with his mum Kim and dad Jay. I loved meeting Alex’s parents and enjoyed that they still tease each other and are still very much in love after all these years together. It was also a bitter sweet moment when Kim and Archie were reunited as Jay still hasn’t made contact with Kim nor showed up in Bear Creek even after he busted up the bad guys who m*rdered his parents and multiple other people so I’m looking forward to reading their story next. I think it won’t be the extremely happy and smooth sailing reunion that we expect as they’d not long bonded before Jay went undercover. Jay has had to live and breathe his cover identity for over a year so he’s going to be extremely paranoid and don’t know who to trust and Kim has had to depend on herself since Jay left, then throw Archie into the mix but I think it’ll be an awesome story seeing them reconnect and being a family. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

Timeline problems distracted from the story

When Sapphi was first introduce as a character she was 12 and her sister Ruby was 14. In this book Sapphi is older. Also in the first book her mother, Fiona was pregnant and now her baby brother is 2 but Sapphi appears to be around 22. Even with these inconsistancies the story is good.

Sapphi is now twenty, her sister Ruby eighteen. It’s been a while since they were rescued from their evil, nasty aunt. A few years since Fiona and Harlan adopted them providing them with the love, protection and watchfulness that their own mother would have done. Soon Sapphi is about to begin a job with her adoptive father that she no longer believes is what she wants out of life and is a bit concerned with Harlan’s reaction. So that on this night time flight with Ruby she is a bit distracted. But certainly not distracted enough to practically fall from the sky when an unknown and intense feeling overwhelms her. Sapphi doesn’t realize it yet, but she’s just come close to her fated mate – and his reaction to her presence is very similar.

Alex is hiding out with a baby. Archie and Alex have been on the run heading to Bear Creek to meet with Archie’s mother. For years, his entire life in fact, Alex has believed that he and his mother were the last of the dragons. Imagine his surprise when he felt the mate pull against his heart at a time when he had no idea who he could trust. He did a foolish thing, he ran away. Now he’s face to face with the beautiful young woman who is his mate and he has some explaining to do. Yet, he also has to protect the baby in his care. Finding his mate – if indeed he ever did – wasn’t supposed to be this complicated.

Single Daddy Dragon is an intense, at times, story. One where what is seen on the surface isn’t actually what it appears to be. I enjoyed Alex and Sapphi together. Their individual strengths compliment each other, and no one is as fierce in their protection of their loved ones as a dragon… or as committed to a promise as well. There are a few twists and turns in this story that will bring back some well known characters for a bit, and add a few new residents to Bear Creek as well. I enjoyed this one, especially finding another dragon just as strong willed as Fiona, and now I’m definitely looking for the next book in the series to further answer some questions. (Oh, nothing that affects this story but woven threads lead to another mystery to solve)

If you love Harmony Raines’ worlds, a good solid story, likable characters and the chance to visit with old friends once again then you’d enjoy Single Daddy Dragon. I’d recommend this story and the entire set of series to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader.

I firmly believe this is the best book I have read by Ms Raines. I could not put it down.
In this book we get our lovely Sapphire, whom we met as a young woman many books ago, stumbling across her mate, only he has a baby in tow. What is that going to mean for them both and their relationship.
Alex was just helping a friend out but something has gone wrong somewhere. How can he get it sorted out without endangering his newfound mate.
I loved Alex for being honest with Sapphi right from the start about everything.
It has everything that was needed to keep my attention. Characters that I liked, a suspenseful and gripping story, tension and sadness. The background story around Jay, and by default Kym, was captivating and I cannot wait to read that book.
This story just flowed from the pages and kept my interest well into the early hours of the morning. I had to finish it to know what happens with baby Archie and do they manage to find and save his mother.
Having Fiona, Harlan, Ruby and Harlan Jr being involved was great. Having Neil and Avery playing a part was wonderful too.
This is my honest review of this book.

Alex and Sapphi

Alex is on the run from a danger that he doesn't even know. All he knows is that his friend Kim asked him to watch her son, then she called him and told him to go to Bear Creek. She said people were after her and her son and that she would meet them there as soon as she could because there was someone in Bear Creek that would help.
Sapphire is out flying with her sister Ruby when all the sudden she had no control and starts falling out of the sky. When they land, she gets a sent and follows it to Cater Eden's cabin. There is no one inside, whoever was there left quickly and left a baby food jar behind.
The next day they accidentally meet at diner and realize that they are mates. Alex realizes that he isn't one of the last two dragons.
There is trouble happening with Kim and her child's father. Alex and Sapphire help to try to solve the crime along with Liam and Avery.
What a great story. I love that more dragon shifters are being found. Keep up the good work!

A Terrific Series!

Sapphire and Alex...Harmony Raines keeps writing the best shifter stories whether they are about bears, eagles, wolves or dragons. Sapphire has grown up. At 20 she's ready to strike out on her own. All she needs to do now is tell her parents. Fate has another plan for her though - Alex. He's a Dragon shifter who believes that he is alone in the world. And, he has a precious responsibility - protecting baby Archie. While flying he almost meets Sapphi. But duty comes before mates, doesn't it? Or can be meet his Mate and save Archie and his Mom at the same time?

Mystery, adventure, danger and, of course, love and happily ever after make this a book I really enjoyed reading. I'm also very much looking forward to reading Archie and his Mom's story next. Happy reading!

First of all, I love the Bear Creek books. And this was another one that kept my attention throughout the book. According to Sapphire, dragons are few and far between. She is not sure anymore exist other than her sister, her adoptive parents, her little brother and herself. All that changes when she sees a large shadow when she is flying and she almost falls out of the sky. Not only is it a large male dragon, it is her mate. Alex is just as shocked. He has found his mate, but how can he explain the baby with him? Great story, with a mystery, love dragon style, and family. Yes... dragons in Bear Creek.

Super! Sapphire had been orphaned along with her sister some years ago and they were adopted by Harlan and Fiona. Each of them had believed that they were the last of the dragons, as does Alex, who arrives with a baby and yet finds that Sapphire is his mate. She's confused, as is the rest of the family, until Harlan detects that the baby is actually a bear shifter and therefore not Alex's child. But there is a major problem and quiet police involvement is needed. You won't regret reading this excellent story!

This is a fantastic book to read and I really enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this book is: drama, suspense, mystery, mates, some confusion, needs & desires and mild erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters have personality with emotional feelings of lust, desire and love. . I would recommend this book to people who like to read a well written Shifter Romance with a HEA.

Enjoyed this book especially since they are both the same type of shifter. Alex does a favor for a friend and takes her baby away to protect him. While they are at a cabin he feels a disturbance and think who ever is after the baby was near and they left the cabin. Sapphi and her sister Ruby were out flying when Sapphi almost fell out of the sky with a strange feeling also. Very interesting story surrounding the baby. The title is not all it seems.

Sealing the deal on a bed of treasure!! My.Wildest.Dreams.Come.True.

I am truly thoroughly addicted to the Bear Creek series. This story, like all the others, is very unique and the writing style makes the time by sooo fast. I was so thrilled that Sapphire got her happy ever after....I look forward to Ruby’s at a later date. If there was a pre-order all future books in a series button I would push it for this one. You are an awesome writer Harmony Raines!

Sapphire falls for her mate

I didn't think I was ready for Sapphire to find her mate. I keep thinking her and Rudy would have more time. I'm surprised Fiona took it so well. Alex and Sapphire have plenty of time to start their own family and help bring together a family. I hope we have a happy ending for Kim and Jay.

Another 5 stars for your series

I really do love reading your books. I love the adventures that they take me on. The adventures takes me to places that shifters are warm hearted people and the laughter that goes alone with them too. I can't wait for another adventure time reading your series. I do love Bear Bluff and Bear Creek.

I am so in love with the inhabitants of Bear Creek. They are neighbors that I wish everyone could have. My strong woman does show up in this story but she is not as strong as some of the other women in the books I have reviewed. I don’t remember having dragons (before this) in Bear Creek but they were a refreshing addition to this book. Loved this book.

A Dragon for Sapphire

Oh,This was good. A definite page turner. I'm really excited about seeing Sapphi growing into her own. Alex was just a surprise. And to think what if there really are more dragons. Kim and Jay's story should be interesting to read as well. Looking forward to Helena and Fiona meeting each other. Loving this series.

Good read

I enjoyed the storyline and it was good to see the characters in play again. My biggest complaint is that it just appeared to end very abruptly! I realize the storyline continues with new characters in the following book but these are supposed to be standalones and I was disappointed in the way this one just seemed to... Stop.

In...

In the usual Harmony manner, this story is full of suspense and adventure. Saffhi and Rubi have grown up and Saffhi is ready to spread her wings...literally and metaphorically! 😉 Definitely worth reading.
