Although revival is something greatly needed, not only in this country, but in each and every life, it is a work of God, not of man. There is no 5-step process, no work of Law that we can do to force it to come about. And that is something that Christi seems to miss entirely. Revival, meaning a passion for God, is a gift from God and is found in His Word. And, whereas all the steps she suggests are great things to do, they cannot bring about a work of God. Revival is best found in living a faithful life, remaining in the Word, and trusting God with everything.

Additionally, there is not even the typical lip-service level of Evangelicalism to Gospel. There is next to none. And, considering that it is the power of God unto salvation (and sanctification), that chops the feet out from under this book. No one is going to find true revival in this book because the power which brings it about is not present.

However, I appreciate the vast amount of God's Word that is in this book, albeit misapplied, as well as the potent quotes. She obviously put a lot of work into this book, and that, as a writer, I can appreciate.

Having read Susie Larson's "Strong in Battle" (May 2022), I have to say that a lot of "Revival" sounds similar. Jeremiah and Daniel are role models here. Both Old and New Testament verses are highlighted and brought to bear in our 21st Century lives.

If you can believe the Bible is the divine word of God, you'll benefit from this book.

The more you draw near to God, the more the "enemy" will attack. Neither Gee nor Larson really explains this aggressive and grasping fallen angel, or devil, Satan, Lucifer, and all his minions. It's a disturbing concept. How can a loving Creator and Father God allow so many obstacles and stumbling blocks to be thrown at us? The antidote of course is prayer, more time with the Bible, more prayer, and more faith in God. Trust that God is with us even when God seems nonexistent.

This is a quick, smooth, easy read, with lots of reminders on how to stay strong in battle. With hope, faith, and courage in a world full of strife and overwhelming challenges, we can prevail.

Those who manage to believe in the promises of the Bible do seem to have incredible coping skills. Believe, and be revived. So simple, right?
