-Kristi Belcamino excels at action scenes. Her previous series with the character of Gabriella Giovanni was very well done, as to character development, overall story lines, and writing. She continues her hitting streak with this new series.
-Gia, her new character, is a spoiled rich girl, but both her parents were killed. Gia has a brother and a close friend of the family that watches over her father’s business. The only thing that she committed herself to was martial arts. Her instructor was someone that she looked up to, though he had a hard time trying to make her realize that her periodic indulgences in liquor weren’t doing her any good at all.
-Over the course of these initial books in the series, Gia matures from a spoiled girl, to someone that starts to take control over her life. The initial book has her tracking down those that killed her parents. It was done very well, and the writer made the whole story very believable, as she groped for a way to reach her goal because of her lack of experience. This lack, though it slowed her down, was more than made up for by her wits, intelligence, and resilience. As the books in the series continue, she starts to realize that her life has value. She is also forced to take over her father’s business, and dedicates herself to now turn it around, as those that are running it are only trying to see how much money they could pull out of the operation. She now has to clean house, put it on the right path, and bring in the proper help, while also dealing with those bent on killing her.
-Reviews on the individual books in the series have been submitted, but this is turning out to be another excellent series by this author, with the added possibility of spin offs of other characters that are introduced in the stories.
