Rate this book
There is more to love than just loving . . .
It is also a promise

Lavanya Gogoi is from the scenic hills of Shillong while Rajveer Saini belongs to the shahi city of Patiala. Worlds apart from one another, the two land up next to each other on a flight from Mumbai to Chandigarh. It's love at first flight, at least for one of them. For the other . . . well, it's going to take more than a plane ride!

And when love does finally happen, there are more obstacles to overcome. Rajveer has to stand up against his own if he and Lavanya are to be together.

However, life has other plans. Things go horribly wrong and Rajveer now has to fight a different battle-one in which he is the devil as well as the deliverer. His love for Lavanya will be put to the ultimate test. And there are no guarantees.

Will You Still Love Me? is deeply moving, disturbingly close to reality, and love at its worst and its best.

What I like about books by Ravinder Singh is the simple language that he opts for writing his books. Most of the love stories he wrote are nothing extraordinary but still manage to give us a decent reading experience.

He can make us execute a simple concept that we already know but won't usually follow in our life due to multiple reasons. In this book also, he is conveying one such message (I can't discuss it here as it will be a spoiler). This will be a decent choice if you are someone looking for a romantic novel.

There is an Assamese girl named Lavanya and a Punjabi guy named Rajveer. There is no much description about them so I don’t know much about them. So they meet on a flight and fall in love with each other. The thing is I couldn’t see any love between them. I couldn’t see any kind of chemistry between them let alone friendship. It was all some words put to make this story. I found this book boring and the funny thing is I read it anyway. It’s like a typical Bollywood movie hero meets heroine and they end up together no matter what. Half the book was boring and the next half was okayish. The author tries to convey a very good message but failed to create a good story.
I give 2/5.

A simple love story of Punjabi boy and northeastern girl met in an aeroplane . Their love started by a confusion on exchanged luggage. The boy and girl in the story are quite opposite to each other and as the saying goes opposite attracts . The story with usual issues with Punjabi parents not liking their son's love interest and call her Chinese. The novel describes Meghalaya's serene beauty quite well. The lessons's on road safety amidst main love story intrigues the reader . The sad but not so sad ending left reader with moist eyes .
Overall one of the best written book by Ravindra Singh .

This is the 3rd book that I have read which is written by Author Ravinder Singh. I am into inspirational books these days and when I got this book copy by penguin team, I was really excited to read a love story again by none other than Ravinder singh whose book “I too had a love story” has been my most fav. book of all times.

The story is between Rajveer from Patiala and Lavanya Gogoi from Meghalaya. So, it’s a simple love story of a guy from Punjab and the girl from the northeast. They run into each other in a flight and their love story starts when their luggage gets exchanged which we have seen many times in the Bollywood movies and not where.

So, at first I was like okay this is not something new and I kept on turning the pages for the first 1/4th of the book. But, after that the story gripped me like anything. Rajveer’s love for Lavanya is put to a test and there are obstacles they have to go through. An awareness about road accidents and a social message is conveyed by the writer through this book.

It’s written beautifully and is really easy to read, and being a Punjabi myself I enjoyed reading it thoroughly. I highly recommend this book to each one of you and I must say this story by Author Ravinder Singh too left me touched and teary as I turned the last few pages. An interesting, fun and useful read. Do buy a copy and read it. You wouldn’t be disappointed.

Finished reading this book, and i am thinking that why there is always a tragedy involved in these love stories....
So, this was my second book by the author, the first one being "I too had a love story", i loved that book and so decided to pick another book by the author for a light read.... and i was not disappointed with the story, the thing that i love the most about romance novels is the love between the protagonists and i loved that part a lot...
Secondly, the scenic beauties of north eastern states have been beautifully described... which was a treat to read and it makes you want to be at those places...
Third, the traffic rules- why they should be adhered to? What can be the results of neglecting them? Is highlighted in the story... which is a really great thing... as the author tries to bring a change with his work...
The love story of " Rajveer" and " Lavanya" is really great to read.... loved every part of it... but these tragedies in romance novels need to stop....

A nice, light and loveable read...
Recommended for some easy and enjoyable reading...

I hope you all keep reading and
Be Safe On the Roads...

This is a story of a girl named Lavanya and the boy named Rajveer. Lavanya, an independent, strong, and confident north - eastern girl and Rajveer, a punjabi guy who doesn't care much about traffic rules. This is a beautiful journey of a happy couple who met by destiny and later have to face ups and downs of life together. Rajveer's lack of interest in following traffic rules costs him everything and that changes his life for good.

This book has a detailed description of beautiful north - eastern states which I really liked reading. It felt like I was in those place enjoying with lavanya and rajveer. The plot was good and narration kept me hooked till the end. But I think the cover of the book could have been better.

1. Wear your Seatbelt.
2. Put on the helmet where it is intended to.
3. Follow the safety rules.
YEAH, I get it. I get all of it.
A good book to those who live in the pretence of following Safety rules but actually are trying to play safe.
I picked this book after having had enough time on "The casual books" hunt. Also, I wanted to add a "tick" mark on "books-of-Ravinder-Singh checklist"
A part of me felt nice for the book met all the criteria of my casual-read. And yet, I couldn't bring myself to have any passionate feeling for this book. (Only if it had been a little less Bollywood-ish)

3 stars for all the "road safety" gyan.

To start with, I had a lot of expectations before I started reading this book. The name “Ravinder Singh” just tempted me to take this book. Just the name. Such was the impact your books have left on me Mr. Ravinder Singh. I’ve read all works of yours till date. But this book I found it quite different though.

The plot and core social advice the book deals should be appreciated, to be honest. But personally what I felt was that the present day scenario could have been clubbed at the last or at the first. That would have been a very good idea. Inserting the present day speeches just dilutes the love story between Rajveer & Lavanya. And moreover, the chapters in the story is lacking connectivity - big time. I found that to be a big drawback in this book which was not the case with your previous works.

The way in which the crux of the story is revealed is good, though it was a bit predictable. Overall, I would say if you are a Ravinder Singh saab fan you can definitely go for this book. The story will pick up after the first half and it will be a jolly ride. Finally, a good story with a better social advice dragged a big time by the lack of connection.

As a fan, I would be eagerly waiting to read your next work Mr. Ravinder Singh.

This book is a magical combination and a perfect blend of beauty, romance, sarcasm, message, and food for thought. Having read all the novels of Ravinder, this is surely his best piece. I've rarely read a romance novel with social messages. Ravinder very beautifully 'puts light' on how 'Indian' people living in North East are as 'Indian' as the rest of the country's people are. I really love this part. Regarding the road accidents, citizens' and cop's part has been well put into words. In fact a part of me believes that this book and such should be introduced into school curriculums of standard 8th onwards when the hormonal rush and peer pressure ignites. 5 stars and more! You go Ravi !

It’s another story from Ravinder Singh. I enjoyed reading his books in the past, including the last one, This Love That Feels Right. He was brave enough to cover a topic which is still considered as a taboo in most parts of the India.

And now, I enjoyed reading this one. Not just because it’s socially relevant in many aspects. It also showed me the parts of India I am not familiar about, including Patiala and Shillong.

Go for it if you like simple love stories, and if loved reading his previous works.

The good news is I've finished it. Bad news is I wasted my time!
Two word review: Don't even!
Got this on Prime Day sale book haul! I make some questionable choices in life. Judge me all you want!
For the record, I love me a good chick-lit. Jane Austen, Colleen Hoover, Cecelia Ahern, the works.
Lavanya Gogoi is an assamese girl from shillong who likes tea; not coffee. She has 'almond shaped eyes'. She worked for Google! To be honest, she ain't very bright. Picking fights over nothing cos that's what girls do? And she has to constantly say hmm and hmmm like ALL THE TIME! She teaches underprivileged kids at an aanganwadi. Rajveer is a singing, dancing Punjabi guy from Patiala. Meet cute, fall in love, etc. Nothing interesting, new or relatable.
Paper thin plot. Weak complications. Truly a Sharaddha Kapoor movie in the making. I mean Priyanka Chopra played Mary Kom! We're very race blind that way.
Like if I had to hang out of this couple in real life, I'd roll my eyes a lot. There's so much communication between the two.
Girl- What's wrong? What you thinking?
Boy - Nothing!
Enter Rajveer's father. 'You want to marry a Chinese?' 'Chinese' in italics. Great use of italics. *drama* sigh. But then our guy Rajveer saves the day. Gives a speech. Blood is blood. Etc
They put some random lines in italics. For some reason all the love making scenes are in italics. Smut-y! I laughed at the love making. The use of words like saliva, inner lips, figure etc made it look like a bad science experiment.
There is a separate narrative going on on how accidents kill people so no prizes for guessing the big, Hindi-filmi climax.
I got this book for 69 rupees on Prime day sale. So...

Astounding.

It has a very good beginning and end however somewhere in middle it gets boring and seems to be stretched.

What I liked:
1. The hilarious events happened in the marriage function, couldn’t stop myself laughing.
2. The beautiful description of Northeast and essence of their culture is very fascinating.
3. The suspense of tragedy and the note on which the story ended is very well written.

What I didn’t liked:
Frequent flashback from past to present had abruptly spoiled the plot as per me at few instances.

Over all it is above average, with a very good lesson and takeaway. I have decided to follow all traffic rules specially with the use of phone while driving.

Cheers!!

I like this book. Here author tries to address three main topics.. road safety issues in India, how north eastern part of India is neglected and corruption dwelling in the system. He, very wonderfully addresses the concerns, with an example of a punjabi boy and a north eastern girl and their love story. Till end, book holds the attention of the reader. The love story is really beautifully described.

I liked this book. This story had love story in focal point but also touched the issues of traffic safety, racism and discriminatory & stereotypical behaviour of Main labd Indians toward North Eastern states' people. Ending of the book was tragic as well as surprising. Overall a good story.

He is one of the few Indian authors whose books I like reading. There has to be a larger purpose to what you write when you have such a wide reach. And he never fails to do that ! A simple love story with some unexpected events. Feels too stretched at some parts. But a good one time read.

#BookReview #WillYouStillLoveMe by #RavinderSingh: I'd start with a #confession: The last Ravinder Singh book I liked was Can Love Happen Twice and it has been forever since then, and nothing in between even remotely had me drooling over Singh's writing skills. Hence, I was hesitant to pick up this book. And then from start to finish I hogged this book in 5 hours. And I somehow liked it better than I had thought I would.

This is a story about a Punjabi youngster without a heroic ambition and an Assamese girl who is another version of those who wish to teach slum kids rather than living a comfortable life. Their first and subsequent meetings, development of their feelings and then the inevitable drama after the first kiss, is the whole of this story. While Rajveer is flawed and slightly in love with a few vices, he made me feel whatever needed to be felt, be it Love, Disparities, Guilt, Strength or Determination. On the other hand Lavanya (whose name I had kind of forgotten between the reading and reviewing) is a cliched orphan good girl who can't do any wrong. As a character Lavanya did not work for me since Rajveer was left to hold the narrative together.

As per the writing, it was mostly hit or miss for me. The language was fluid but it ran into too much of heavy-handed preaching about Road Safely, Racism, Rural Education, Patriarchal Debates, Corruption, Society norms and the narrative actually felt like a paid promotion of IndiGo Airlines and Meghalaya Tourism. It is too much packed in too little. But in terms of the packaging of the book, it was wrongly engineered since I was spoilt on Page 3, much before even the first chapter of the book started. Hence, 80% of the book was read in anticipation of something bad that was about to happen. Mr. Singh really indulged in sadistic pleasure of leading the readers on to a tormenting journey.

It is after stated the plot twist where whatever was slated to happen, happens, is where the actual pleasure to reading kicked in, but it was too little too late. It is not a bad story but for readers like me, I could predict most of the plots. Plus once you connect the dots you know why even the title of this book is a spoiler in itself!

Still, as a Ravinder Singh loyalist, I liked the book, the love story and then everything that Rajveer goes through. For me I am settling for a 3 out of 5 for my rating. Sadly, I read better Indian writings in this year so far. Rohit Sharma's 'Love Of My Life' and Vaishnav Shravan's 'Kaveri' are still in my top 5 for this year so far.

Will You Still Love Me
Ravinder Singh, an author with whom I share a kind of Love-Hate relationship with each book acting as a kind of pendulum, swinging me from Love to Hate, Hate to Love.

There are many reasons why I like this book. And most of them are less to do with the writing or the story or other 'authory type thing'. Rather, it was the attempt to address the issues which are so often neglected still affect all of us. (Revealing them would be a spoiler)

The story of Rajveer and Lavanya, starts with a sweet meet cute on a flight. As the story progresses, their relationship takes mature turn of love and togetherness. However, as the synopsis says, 'There is more to love than just loving... It is also a promise'. This forms the rest of the story. It is a quientessential Ravinder Singh book, with all the elements which makes him so loved by many.

My pendulum for this book didn't osscilate between love or hate. Rather it stood firm at liking and appreciation for the writer in attempting what he did in this book.

.. Plot- The story explores the love between Rajveer, a simple punjabi boy from Patiala and Lavanya, a girl from Shillong Meghalaya. Their love amongst the community acceptance issues and in the aftermath of a terrible accident is the main focus.
.
Review- Ravinder Singh crafted another beautiful love story in the back drop of community acceptance, the mindset of most Indians towards the North-east community. Then there is the leading focus which deals with obeying traffic rules(read the book to find out why). The description of the picturesque Meghalaya,The exploration of the journey towards love and then an incident giving a whole new direction. Ravinder Singh narrated yet another heart wrenching tale. ...

This book will be my always close to heart. a day before when I left my hometown after 10 months of a gap for my dreamland, my best friend gifted me this. I am thankful to him for letting me close to this book of Ravinder Singh. I completed this book during my train journey....

One more day one more grand creation from Ravinder Singh. This person can genuinely make you begin to look all starry eyed at his words and you will simply stay there engrossing everything and acknowledging how profound his words will contact you.

This story isn't only a conventional story. An alternate romantic tale by and large. It's a story that begins with fellowship, proceeds with affection, and finishes with a directive for OUR COMMUNITY. The relationship so emphatically sewed together and the nitty gritty clarification of each second similarly illuminating all the character and our everyday battle and the cultural mentality that change under impact.

The message that this book show is exceptionally vital and I thank the writer for carrying this theme to take note. I'm not discussing what and how the story goes about yet something which I feel is more profound and the genuine intention behind this work.

This is an account of a young lady named Lavanya and a kid named Rajveer. Lavanya, an autonomous, solid, and sure north - eastern young lady, and Rajveer, a Punjabi fellow who couldn't care less traffic rules. This is a delightful excursion of a glad couple who met by predetermination and later need to confront the high points and low points of coexistence. Rajveer's absence of interest in observing rush hour gridlock rules costs him everything and that transforms himself for good.

This book has a nitty gritty portrayal of lovely northeastern states which I loved perusing. It seemed like I was in those spots living it up with Lavanya and Rajveer. The plot was acceptable and the portrayal kept me snared till the end.

Thusly, whoever is perusing this audit simply trust me and give this book an opportunity, you will in the wake of perusing this will take a gander at your life in a manner for aware way and ideally will transform into a more capable resident!

"Forgiveness is the biggest gift one can give to somebody who has accepted the fault and learned a lesson" There is nothing greater than the Power of Love and Forgiveness.

A simple love story of Punjabi boy and northeastern girl met in an aeroplane . Their love started by a confusion on exchanged luggage. The boy and girl in the story are quite opposite to each other and as the saying goes opposite attracts.

I've read all books by this author and was excited to read this book as well. I must say Sir, you always amaze us by adding some message to your story filled with love. Simple yet very powerful. Very apt title for the story.

The cute love story between this orthodox couple who hails from two different parts of India gives you an insight that how we complicate the things which we are very simple, and I give complete credit of that to the author who managed to put it in a unique way. I loved the book, and I hope you guys will also love it too.

The story with usual issues with Punjabi parents not liking their son's love interest and call her Chinese. The novel describes Meghalaya's serene beauty quite well. I liked the way author describes Meghalaya's serene beauty. I wish I would have been there. I have never been there before but I am sure I will go Meghalaya once in lifetime. I enjoyed reading this one. It showed me the parts of India I am not familiar about, including Patiala and Shillong. The lessons's on road safety amidst main love story intrigues the reader.

Having read all the novels of Ravinder, I think this is surely his best piece. A must read guys if you care for your loved ones! Also must must read this book because this will make you understand how our ignorance can ruin several lives including ours !

I felt emotional, cried little bit because the last part of the story reminded me of "Khushi" from "I Too Had A Love Story". Just want to tell that I love Ravin and his stories so much. Thank you a lot Ravin for writing a Masterpiece again.

Lavanya Gogoi is a talented, hardworking, sweet, easy-going Meghalayan girl of Assamese origin. She is a sunshine character with determination as high as Mount Everest. She is too good to be true with a helping attitude towards everyone. On the other hand, Rajveer Singh is a reckless boy, simple and supportive.
Their first meet was on an indigo flight where their bags got exchanged. With that, their meeting became quite often with increasing love between them until they got serious about their relationship to think about marriage. The fact is I couldn’t see any chemistry between them at that point. But I don’t think this book was written to write a love story only but to send out strong messages. As a love story, this book didn’t impress me enough. Although the guy was supportive and FL was strong, it didn’t strike me as a perfect love story. It started with two men interacting with an audience mainly consisting of college students about road safety. But the way it is blended is commendable. It is fast-paced with so many elements to it.
Elements mentioned in the book:
•Racism against northeastern states– Lavanya’s facial features has been compared to a Chinese girl by ML’s parents. Her being rejected to be a good match for their son because of her looks. The fact they don’t consider her Indian.
•Road Safety– There were a lot of talks going on about traffic rules and road safety which was odd at first but with the twist coming into the picture, it seemed quite convincing. Ravinder’s attitude toward driving has endangered the life of people including his loved ones.
•Women empowerment– The way author has supported women empowerment throughout the book mainly through Lavanya and while explaining the culture in the northeastern region supporting children being named after their mothers and women being financially independent.
•Northeast’s natural beauty– I won’t be lying if I say this book has made me anxious to visit Meghalaya. The way this book has shown, I can definitely imagine how beautiful Meghalaya is.
The book is perfectly blended with elements and nothing seemed too artificial.

~My review:

First and foremost, I must express that I didn't anticipate the exceptional quality of this book until I picked it up. I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

The author skillfully weaves together the story of two individuals from different parts of India who fall in love. When Rajveer seeks his father's approval for their marriage, he faces a slight denial and humiliation because of lavanya enthancity as Chinese and his father expresses concerns about what people would think if he brought a Chinese bride for his son. This aspect of the book sheds light on the issues faced by people from the Northeast region of India.

Additionally, the author incorporates a crucial theme of road safety awareness throughout the entire plot. The book effectively emphasizes the consequences of not adhering to traffic rules through a compelling narrative.

Lastly, I would like to mention the valuable insights I gained about Meghalaya from this book. There were several aspects that I was previously unfamiliar with, but this book expanded my knowledge. For instance, I learned that 80% of the population in Meghalaya practices Christianity and has embraced Western culture. It is a state where feminism thrives, and women hold dominant positions. Furthermore, after marriage, the groom is expected to move to the bride's place, and dowry is non-existent.

However, one aspect that could be improved in the book is the portrayal of tourism places. It would have been beneficial to include details about the scenic destinations in Meghalaya, such as Cherapunji with its mesmerizing waterfalls, the enchanting Mawsmai Cave, the breathtaking living root bridge, and the pristine river streams.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this book to those who appreciate heartwarming love stories and have a passion for travel. Moreover, the book imparts valuable knowledge about road safety awareness. I urge you to read this book and discover its engaging narrative and enlightening messages.

There are a few books that you purchase when you walk past a book store because you had too (they call your name, don’t believe me?). 🤫📚
.
I read the author’s debut novel called- I too had a love story, quite late. My bestie was going gaga over it since the day she read it, at last, I gave in to the peer pressure. Back in 2015 when I read his first book which was published in 2008, it was still being praised everywhere. (there is a whole story behind picking this book up from the store- read it on my blog🤫)
.
.
📖 Will you still love Me? .
✍️ Author: Ravinder Singh (@thisisravinder)
📚 Genre: Fiction / Romance .
👉Book Review:

Lavanya Gogoi from Meghalaya and Rajveer Singh from Punjab, met on a flight and the whole narrative is straight out of Bollywood movie (I root for them, cliché’ scenes marinated in well-written words are my favorite to read).♥️
.
Two humans, who are worlds apart from one another land up next to each other on a flight from Mumbai to Chandigarh.💕
.
From the pristine beauty of Northeastern states to the bullet rides in the streets of Punjab, this book gives you goals for your next travel destination.🧳✈️ .
The book runs on two angles simultaneously – Love story on one side and lecture of two men to students about road safety are interlinked and wonderfully explained. ✍️
.

The couple tries to fight through the prejudice of one’s family, their heart-wrenching fate, and then the result of their actions/chain reactions, to be together.🙃📚
.
.
A love story that leaves with you a heartache along with a thought to ponder upon for your own actions.♥️
