Read one story, and then tell me if you didn't want to read them all.
I am looking forward to read two more books based on the same background and written by the same legendary author Jhaverchand Meghani, 1. Sorath Tara Vaheta Pani, 2. Sorath na Baharvatiyao and even more if I find more books based on this subject written by Meghani.
Such books are actually, literary treasures in any society.
It's not everyone's cup of tea to understand what the author wants to convey! As nothing is written in a direct manner. You will mostly feel these strange emotions as the end is very incomprehensible and non-conclusive. And will leave you to keep thinking about the purpose of the story and the reason behind the confusing end.
One must read this book to understand the local culture of the area in Gujarat state named Saurashtra. The author has roamed in various countryside of Saurashtra and listened to these stories from various peoples and then documented them for us.
Ansolute joy to read it. I struggled a bit to understand the Kathiyavadi language initially but then I got the good grip. Stories are best. Stories of Courage, Sacrifice and Bravery. A must read.
By far the most eccentric collection of short stories I have ever come across, and the fact that they all are based on real incidents just left me even more amazed
Saurashtra ni Rasdhar - Collection of Short Folk Lores of the land called Kathiyawad, now part of Gujarat State. Jhaverchand Meghani saheb is an inspiration.. We can literally visualise every thing that has been written.. He is the person who has Inspired me to spread awareness about the great Gujarati Literature heritage..
One of the best works of Shree Zaverchand Meghani who was honoured by the title of National Poet of India. It's in colloquial Gujarati and that's a good read.
"Zaverchand meghani" name is enough for the history of saurashtra. Hard work of meghani for writing of this book is unbelievable. Can read about Rich history and culture of saurashtra in his books.
