The relationship started way too soon after all the hoopla about the mating bond. I understand they've been friends for years, but still seemed like a rebound more than anything.
A sweet and emotional story about two best friends becoming lovers at last. A great choice if you are looking for a quick read with low angst and high feelings.
My only complaint is the rushed ending. I was expecting it because the book was short, but I thought there would be a time skip of a few weeks at least. Sam needed time to heal and a couple of days to accept his new reality. At least they talk and their heads were in the right place.
Pregnant Omega leaves 10 year “marriage” because his mate got physical. Runs away to his best friend’s house.
Day 2 Morning
Pregnant man moves in with best friend
Day 2 Afternoon
Pregnant man physically breaks bond with ex, which apparently is a severe process, then proceeds to ask best friend to have sex with him.
Day 3
Fine. Everything is fine. Everyone is fine. Pregnant man is fine.
Day 4 Morning
Pregnant man and best friend decide to bond for life.
The end !!
Seriously. That’s the gist of the book, it takes place in a span of 4 days. In less than a week, we find out that the best friend has always been in love with the pregnant man. Omegas are treated like crap by this strange society that is never fully explained. Apparently the pregnant man always knew about his best friend’s love, and now that he’s left his long term mate, he suddenly realized that hey, guess what? HE’s always been in love with his best friend too !!! *I’m rolling my eyes real hard here”.
So this pregnant man goes through this severe depression after breaking this metaphysical bond right, but not 2 days later decides that we’ll, it’s perfectly ok to jump into another deep metaphysical bond because now that he thinks about it, his ex wasn’t really that great and their relationship sucked. And if that is not enough to irk you, be prepared. The word “yeah” gets tagged at the end of questions during dialogue a lot. Isn’t that a very British thing ? But ok, fine, we’re gonna let that go since we have absolutely no idea whatsoever where this story takes place, other than there’s snow. But here’s the kicker. If you are not into pet names, look away, because the best friend - who may I remind you is an Alpha - calls the pregnant man “hon”, yes, that’s right, “HON”, not once, not twice, but 33 times. Call me crazy but out of all the men I know, and have known all my life, not a single one would refer to me or much less another man by “hon”. I honestly think I like pookie or even sugar tits better than “hon”.
So do I recommend this book ? Nah. Not really. It doesn’t qualify as insta love or second chance since they were never together, and really, 4 days ????? I gave it two stars because at least it wasn’t riddled with typos and grammatical errors, and the author appreciates egg porn.

Sam thought he had it all, bonded to his high school sweetheart, Dustin, each of them having successful careers, and now they are starting a family. All of this came crashing down when Dustin was not so happy to hear the news that he is going to be a father and tried to hurt Sam and their unborn child. Sam did the only thing he could do to protect himself and unborn child...he ran. He left everything behind and ran to the only place, rather the only person, he knew he could count on...his best friend Adam.
Adam is an alpha who has always had a soft spot for Sam. So when Sam comes running to him after fleeing Dustin, Adam is more than ready to protect Sam and give him whatever he needs. Adam rallies the rest of their friends and all of them make sure that Sam is okay.
Sam and Adam have a beautiful friendship. I love stories that are friends to lovers because the relationship starts on a great foundation. As a friend, you see them at their worst and if you can love the person after witnessing that then that says it all.
Who wouldn't want Adam as an Alpha? He is protective, loyal and unwavering with that loyalty. How he took care of Sam, not expecting anything in return, was just a beautiful thing and had me loving him even more. The friendships Sam and Adam had with the rest of the gang was awesome. There is nothing like having a group of friends that have your back and always will, no questions asked. I loved reading Sam and Adam's story and I didn't want it to end.

I love a second chance romance, it's one of my favorites and Aiden Bates does a nice job bringing these two friends together. Sam and Adam have always been the best of friends, but Dustin got to claim Sam before Adam had a chance. Adam has accepted that, until one night a panic stricken Sam shows up on his doorstep. Sam is pregnant and Dustin didn't like that news, threatening to harm him and the baby. Now Adam feels his protective nature towards Sam stronger than ever and is determined to help him through starting over.
This was a quick read and really didn't have a whole lot of angst to it, more focusing on how these two come together and finally get their HEA! I really liked Adam, he's got such a good, sweet heart and has obviously loved Sam for so long, but at the same time he won't push Sam into anything he isn't ready for. Sam has plenty to deal with, severing himself from Dustin and dealing with the feelings that leaves behind. He finally sees Adam and his true feelings and in that realizes how deep their bond really is and how much he truly can trust him.
Overall, a very sweet, loving story about real love, even if it needs a second chance.

This is a story of two people who were meant to be with each other but somehow one of them contradicted himself. To be honest, there’re so much untold things in this novel. The beginning was Sam, the Omega ran away from his Alpha because the Alpha wanted to make Sam aborted their baby. His reason was weird. The Alpha was jealous and all and thought that it wasn't his child. So the Omega ran to his best friend, Adam. I was confused and questioned where Adam's parents were. For Sam, I think Author mentioned he was an orphan but not Adam. And then there were these friends of them coming to Sam's rescue. Adam and Sam truly meant for each other. Their chemistry was so perfect that it looked so natural. That needs to be noted. I also like the way Dustin was treated (and his reactions) --- Something like "He deserves it". But I can't seem to hate him. I feel like there're some histories there. This is my view of Dustin: he loves Sam, but at the same time he doesn't love him.
Hope Author makes spin-off for Dustin's.

Sam, omega, pregnant and panicked, runs through a snowy night to get to his long time friends home. There Adam, an alpha welcomes him and helps soothe his panic. Sam has just left his bond mate who was threatening to beat the pregnancy out of him. Adam calls on their group of friends to come the next day and go get Sams belongings from his former home. The abusive bond mate tries to intimidate Sam but his friends protect him and get him and his stuff away. In this world when an omega breaks a bond they go through a difficult, physically painful time but Adam and his friends are there for him. Adam has loved Sam since middle school but never spoke up. So begins the story of how love blossoms between them to a great HEA. A very touching, well written book.
MM. Alpha/Omega. Sam and his bonded mate, Dustin, have not had an easy relationship, and the latest incident breaks whatever hesitance Sam had about continuing with the Alpha. My heart breaks for Sam and him realizing too late how abusive Dustin has been since they first met. Adam and Sam have been friends for years and he immediately steps in when Sam needs him. Adam thought Sam knew how he felt, but the years past with them continuing to be friends. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Sam being an omega thought he had it all he has been bonded with his sweetheart since his schoold day and when he found out his pregnant was the happiest day eva until his boyfriend dustin accused of cheating and to kill him and his baby. Scared and on the run Sam has come to his childhood friend Adam who always was there for him until sam got bonded . Maybe this time mthey may have a chance to be together.
An Omega has ran to his best friend for protection as his Alpha tried to hurt him badly so he would miscarry. Adam and his friends all from college gathered the next day to help him collect his belongings. Then a new relationship starts with his best friend not realizing that they had been in love with each other all those years ago. This story is a delight. Aiden you have captured my heart again.
I found this book to be utterly amazing. The friendship and love between the main characters was see inspiring. I can't find the words to describe how much I really loved this book. It was so exciting and amazing. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves a great story.
So bad. So, so, so bad. You know those books where you just want it to end because it's so bad and you start rethinking your habit of never DNFing a book? Yeah, that's this book for me.
The whole story was rushed, the characters had a horrible habit of always saying "hon" and "sweetheart" like it's supposed to be endearing instead of patronising. Just urgh. Get this book away from me.
This story had me so emotional from the beginning, and oh my, what a beginning it is! Sam is running for his baby’s life to his best friend Adam. The support and love for Sam from all his friends is amazing. Aiden Bates, you have written another amazing story!
This book is so bad I could not force myself to finish. I have read over 30 books written by Aiden Bates and cannot believe he wrote this!!
No character development and not much of a story. Hope he gets back on track and writes more of what we have come to expect from him - interesting characters leading interesting lives.
A omega forced to flee and the one alpha who always has his back, and who has always loved him. A sweet read about second chances perfect for when you have a need for a HEA.
When a relationship becomes abusive you have to be strong enough to take a stand...for yourself and the child you carry. If you're lucky you'll have someone to turn to.
The story is sweet and the characters are likeable. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because of all the ITALICIZED WORDS! Please stop doing that! It's really distracting and unnecessary!
I really liked this book 📖, hated that it was finished so soon. I enjoy 😊 everything written by both Aiden and Austin Bates. Loved the characters and story line. Very grateful for the happy ending.👍🏼
