OHMYFREAKINHOLYCRAPPINGOODNESSSS! I want this book soooooo much more now that I've seen the cover. It's so freakin' beautiful! I want this NOW. Like. Right Now! I want more Ethan. I want to learn more about him and his significance. To learn more about his and Nara's connection. I love this series. Really LOVE it. It's become one of my absolute favorite series now just because of it's uniqueness and originatlity. I love the characters, and the author's take on the big bad Fate.
This cover is absolutely beautiful. And now we finally get to finally see the one and only Ethan. And he look to be very...hmm, attractive? Is that the right word? Haha, I don't want to sound like a horny teenager, but... He looks to be pretty hot/gorgeous/just plain beautiful. Haha, I think I'm going to stop now before things get weird.
All I'm going to say is that I seriously CANNOT wait for this to come out. I honestly don't know how I'm going to wait around for March to come by and wait the agonizing days until it comes out. I will be dieing a little more inside until it finally does.
*sigh* Ethan. ;D

If I thought this book was going to be good just from looking at the cover, it blew me away after I finished it. It was way better than I expected. WAY BETTER! They're was some conflicts, sure, but they could take away how I felt about everything else. Every chapter I would fall deeper and deeper in love with the story. It was always keeping me guessing. This story is just so unique and unlike anything I have ever read before. I will be very truly sad when I read the last book. Nara and Ethan will always be in my heart.

**SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST TWO***
Immediate Reaction Post-Read: HOLY SMOKES I'M NOT SURE WHETHER TO HUG P.T OR CHOKE HER! THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH I WAS LIKE: oh yeah, this could be the last book despite what she says. It's drawing to a close and stuff AND THEN BAM! BLOODY CLIFFHANGER URGHHH *slowly dies painful death*
This book continues with Ethan and Nara's journey (nuh DUH) in a way that has me lying on my knees and begging for more. This is one of those amnesia books, but one of the better ones. Even though it's one of the best amnesia books i've read, it's still an amnesia book that has me on my toes just screaming at the author: JUST TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE I DIE, DAMNIT! (what I mean by an amnesia book is that it's a book where someone has amnesia and therefore parts - if not all - of the book are surrounding the things that the character with amnesia has forgotten)
There's a lot of tension in this book, all surrounding Ethan's amnesia and the things he didn't tell Nara. To be honest, I think that P.T went a little overboard with the whole tension thing. At first I understood Nara's reasoning for not trusting Ethan and stuff but after a while I was yelling at Nara to get her head in gear and man up. She seemed a little bit more wimpy in this book than in the others but hopefully that won't carry into the next book!
There are a shitload of discoveries that are made in this book on the whole supernatural creatures front. One of the things that I like best about these books is that no one holds the answers. No one character knows everything and is telling the rest post their journey, rather it's little discoveries by many characters that are put together to create the whole big thing.
This book is well-written just like the other books. There are a couple sentences that don't make sense or words missing but she's only human and there are always mistakes. I have to say, I still remain neutral on the whole writing front - her writing doesn't do anything for me; it doesn't drag me in or connect me. Some books you read for the writing, some for the stories. This is a story kind of book.

Oh my gosh that ending! It kills!!!! I NEED to know what's going to happen next! Like, right now!!!!
Oh, by the way, this review might contain some spoilers from the book, but nothing major. Just be careful...
Can I just say that this book was well worth the wait? 'Cause it was. Just like the first two books, P.T. Michelle knew how to keep my interest in this book the entire time. It's like there are new things happening ALL the time so I never get my questions answered because twenty more conundrums are being dumped at my feet.
Except, I think we finally get some more answers in this book. Don't get me wrong, I still have a million questions burning in my brain, but at least I have some pieces of the mystery solved.
During Lucid and its awesome and crazy adventure, I think I was beginning to think I'd never really know everything that was going on with Nara and Ethan, and then at the end of that book I was kinda satisfied because I thought I'd get to the bottom of everything in this third book. Ethan had left with a promise to return in a few days and tell her everything he knew.
So here I was starting out Destiny with the expectation that it would start off with Ethan's return and I'd finally get some answers.
But that doesn't happen!!!
In the first chapter, Nara finds out that Ethan is in the hospital after getting in a car accident!!!! What?!
And then he's not waking up!!! Double what?!
Me while reading: "Ethan wake up. I need answers!! You promised answers!!"
I know that sounds totally wrong of me. I shouldn't be yelling at poor Ethan while he's lying in a hospital bed, but he just kinda ruined all my plans. I wanted to know what he learned during his time away in Lucid and he wasn't waking up!
And do you know what made me even more sad?
When he finally did wake up he had no memory of the past month!
For real?! You promise me answers and then you wake up after an accident and cannot remember whatever it was that you learned while you were away? How is that fair!
Let me also just say that I missed Drystan in this book. I really liked him in Lucid but since Ethan was back in this book we didn't get as much Drsytan time. Which is totally sad because I fell in love with him. I know that Nara and Ethan belong together and all that, but if I were Nara I would go for Drystan. It's just too bad she doesn't think like me because if she did then I would have gotten all the Drystan I wanted.
*Sighs*
But yeah...even though Drystan was missing a lot of the time, this book was fantastic. And I eventually got some answers. So that was nice.

Wow. This is what I wanted to see, even though it took three books to finally put everything together.
This had a lot of information that answered a lot of different questions from the first two books. But the one thing that I wanted from the other two books was especially the character development. This book in the series develops their characters so well. A lot of things makes more sense than it did. The only downfall is that it took literally three books to figure it out.
My original rating is 4.5 star rating because there were a couple details that I was very annoyed about. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone so these details I will not express. Since it does correlate with the plot itself. But, a little not to the author, STOP WITH THE RECAP OF THE LAST BOOKS. You do not need a recap of last books. If the reader read the last book than it should be fine. Seriously, one of the things I hate with YA series’ sometimes....
Overall this was a great addition to this book. This is still a young adult book but it is definitely not for the “younger portion” of the young adult age. Probably 16 years old in order would be best for this book specifically.
Overall a good read. I would recommend it. 4.5 star rating.

I found Destiny to be very enlightening. Questions from the previous two books are answered, and I was totally hooked.
Ethan is still trying to find answers about the nature of his powers. In the process he trusts the wrong person. It's very infuriating, but his commitments to who he is drive him as far as his nature is concerned. His protectiveness towards Nara is somewhat endearing, but after what transpired previously, he now has to earn her trust. That doesn't mean that her feelings for him have waned. She is just cautious. Can he convince her to trust him again?
The development and portrayal of this installment is well constructed, and lights are shed on the true nature of some of the characters. Some come as surprises, but others not so much. Nevertheless, I was completely captivated by the whole story. The last sentence is baffling and I need to know what the next installment brings.
It's an unusual concept, and I absolutely enjoyed every bite. On to the next part.

Samson: Ethan in hospital since Monday night, car crash, head injury. His parents arrive. Ethan hadn't been with them at all, has no female cousin. Fight. Dad kicks her out. She overhears Dr say he should be awake. Did his dragon tattoo get broken? Necklace protects her, what protects him?
Samson tells Nara he was on a plane 2 years ago, man next to him: Go to little brother now. Stops suicide attempt. N: Tell Ethan this story, that you're open to possibilities, that dreams aren't just images.
She asks Sage for help. While Sage works on jewelry to help Ethan block dreams so he can wake up, Nara updates Lainey and Drystan. D still wants her to train today. Sage makes 2 rings. Nara slips into Ethan's room, puts his ring on, puts hers on, and puts on crystal necklace.
Ethan fights a manticore, sees ring appear. He dodges beast, finds Nara, shields her, faces beast again, N: use your sword. The warm blackness tries to protect her. No, protect Ethan! She uses her mind to make walls fall on beast, imagines a door so they can escape. Except he can't get across. She wraps her legs around him, kisses like it's their last, cutting hand on his sword, and leans backward to pull him through door. Wake. N: Where were you last month? E: Last thing I remember is bday picnic. Nara has to leave because she's banned and because she hurts so much. He doesn't want her to go; as soon as door closes, he begins thrashing and yelling.
Drystan: Register for coed soccer with me and Lainey. Harper's attack has Matt watching Lainey like a hawk. Why did she attack? N: Crazy. D: I learned coincidences don't exist, random happenstance is bull crap, and people lie a lot. N: Help find Ethan's cell phone? In a car on hydraulic lifts.
She lures mechanics away with pizza, finds phone, puts it in rice. Samson texts Ethan won't talk to parents; Samson did, she's not banned. N: Don't want to cause a fight, I'll talk to him when he's home.
Ethan comes, mad she sent flowers; he wanted to see her. He walked 5m from the hospital, left Samson sleeping. You said you'd talk to me when I'm home, so I came home. I'm only talking to you in the car on the way back to the hospital. He remembers it was a driving need that made him leave, the only reason he can think of is to protect her. He knows they're connected. Yes, but not the way you're thinking. Explain. Why weren't you in my dreams last night? I haven't been having dreams since Saturday, except normal people dreams. E: Whatever's in front of us, don't let it change us. She promises Together 'til. What about the rest? That's up to you.
She takes a nap after school, dreams of looking for Ethan again, and he wakes her up. He's actually been released. She shows him pictures of where he fought Drake, tells him about Freddie, shows him the necklace, his bday note. They go to school to look at the hall, find Drystan. E: How long you here for? D: Long enough to do some damage; the first game will be near our park. Ethan's jealous. He doesn't know about the self-defense training. E: What did you wear to dance? Remembers closet kiss and emotions. E: What else happened? A blur between them, Harper: Where's Drake? Where's the book? Ethan grabs her shoulder, she hits him in the chest, sends him flying 20f. H to N: You're too weak to be Corvus, I'll take info. Can't; she's blocked. Nara punches her in throat. N: Let's go Ethan! He wants to fight. You need your sword. What sword? He knows Corvus is Raven, but that's all. You obliterated Drake, poof. She recounts her conversation with Fate, the journal she made for him, shows him the journal and Freddie's book, her necklace and what it does. She can't remember what the paper said. Drake and Harper wanted the secret. I've never wanted to hurt another person as much as I did when I saw her grab you. What did you feel? Dead calm, then cold fury. An absolute knowing that she must be eliminated. What did you feel physically? My shoulder burned. He's got the instincts, she just needs to trigger them. She touches the hilt, makes him closes eyes and picture what happened, how he felt when Harper attacked her. He jumps up and rips off his coat and shirt. A tattoo writhes down his arm, hurts, the point starts to emerge behind his fingers. What's happening? He holds her, the sword retreating, so he can breathe. She makes him put his shirt back on. Danielle might have the answers. Mom's home, take the journal. He wants reassurance they're meant to be together, and she can't. She's trying to keep an emotional distance.
At school, she asks Lainey to look up a number on Ethan's cell; nothing else saveable. Ethan whispers I remembered I kissed you in a place I've wanted to for a long time. Drystan walks by, she tells Ethan about phone, Drystan's teaching her self-defense. Has he hit on you yet?
They go to Freddie's. She has a hard time. Ravens welcome them. By the dozens. Patch shows up. Their warmth heals Nara. She reenacts the cyclone. He's amazed. Enters the cyclone and kisses her. I'll never accept a substitute for you. You still lied and that's very real to me. I'm all in, I'll do whatever it takes to get my wheels back, Sunshine.
Ethan smells her with ravens, remembers phone call with ravens. When she whispers I miss you, nothing could've kept him away. No damn way was I letting them touch her in any kind of intimate scenario. I'm the only one who will fill her needs. He's missed her I'm so happy to see you smile. Wants to assign a Paladin to help her, someone whose sole purpose is to keep the Corvus grounded in our world. Paladin has to have special power. Without Paladin, Corvus gets contaminated by demons. Master Corvus can be in human, only when Lucifer on earth. No Paladin in Virginia currently. Corvus training Corvus is dark. Wicklow leaves to get tea, she leans over a globe and her necklace attracts to it. He comes back in, drops the tray, Where did you get that necklace? Can I see it? I didn't think another one existed. I'm not Corvus. He gives her his number, keep the necklace safe, help your friend.
She tells Ethan about dream. Danielle is Corvus. Gives the necklace back to him, afraid of Wicklow. She leaves. Necklace burns hot, then icy cold, throws at fireplace, shatters into dust.
At school, Ethan finds her in copy room, remembers everything. He's talked to Danielle, too. After school, they go to her room. Kiss. Danielle told him she's the Master Corvus. Nara tells him about Dad.
School, Ethan and Drystan fist fight. Nara stops it. Danielle: Back off, we're more than friends. Ethan: I woke to her kissing me, thought it was you, stopped it immediately.
She trains with Drystan. He had dream about the kiss she rewound time for. Ever wondered about us? Almost kisses. Lainey: Talk to Ethan so Danielle doesn't win.
She goes to Ethan's, tails him to McCormicks, he's in band. Does she even know him? Danielle's there; Nara leaves. He chases her, explains. He got a TTTWFO tattoo with other symbols so she'd always be with him. Passionate kissing. I've seen the Order; training with Danielle could kill you. He sees her white feather. You did this. I never meant to.
Danielle after concert: Let's hunt. E: I won't create Furiae; won't hand Lucifer God's children, they should have chance of redemption.
Patch drops Dad's hat in her lap. Drystan holds it, sees Dad, they skip school. Ethan's already there. He's glad he got her dream because Fate can't see him so won't interfere.
Terrorists holding Dad because they're taking down White House. Ethan gets Dad out to Nara and Drystan, goes back inside to make sure terrorists stay until cops come. Drystan sees Ethan's tattoo. She calls cops, Sage. Ethan affirms to Drystan they're a couple. Drystan goes home. Nara sees Dad. A tall blonde man told him to pay attention. He hadn't dreamed that, so he did. He told a young man to save his little brother. She invites Ethan in, Dad sleeps. Ethan okays her telling Dad about dreams, not Corvus. She wants all of them to face Fate. Dad and Ethan agree absolutely no Fate for Nara.
Sage comes; they'll all stay in her hotel room. Nara and Ethan go for talk. She got her dreams back when the necklace broke. It protected her from demon possession. Ethan brought the crystal necklace, he's willing to help her dad do it, but not her. She tells Ethan her dad talked to Samson on the plane. E: You are my existence, my sustenance, my every breath. He gives her oral sex.
Ethan sleeps touching Dad, Dad holds necklace. Nara waits, then Ethan says she's needed. Ethan fights terrorists. Dad gives his ability to Fate, Fate wants Nara's, too. When Fate goes to kill Dad, Ethan's Corvus intervenes, almost kills Fate until Nara talks him down. Wake. Ethan only agreed to this to protect Nara. Corvus is protective vengeance, sadness, and loneliness all rolled into one. You're not allowed to be jealous of something powerful enough to keep us both safe.
Morning, Mom: someone tried to break in, installing a security system. Dad's secretary who sold him out. Ethan: a demon tried to get in Nara's house.
Harper attacks Lainey to hold hostage to get to Nara; Danielle frees. Ethan and she hunt. Nara walks Houdini, Drystan visits Wicklow (uncle). She feels deceived. Spanish teacher coming for Christmas Tuesday, Mom gone Saturday am to Monday pm, Sage at fair on weekend; Dad'll be here in a week.
Drystan has no idea about Order. They train Saturday. Drystan's possessed, starts sexually assaulting, Danielle tells him to kill Nara.
Ethan wakes uneasy. Patch is frantic, other ravens banging into window. Harper's been found dead. Nara's not home, he goes to Wicklow. You're the Corvus. Danielle is the threat because Corvus are territorial. The necklace points to new Corvus. Patch and others in backyard. Ethan thinks to Patch: Help me find her.
Danielle killed her Corvus father. Master Corvus is myth. Corvus ash hides demons in bodies. Nara punches Danielle. Demon impales Danielle, she explodes. Nara runs. Ethan comes! Inferni gets away, knows about ash. She calls Wicklow, demon's left Drystan, he doesn't remember. He hoped Drystan would be Nara's Paladin.
Ethan and Nara talk, then sleep. She takes Houdini out, Drystan says goodbye, going to England with Wicklow Monday. She hugs him. He remembers possession. She lets him kiss her cheek. They're still friends.
Ethan takes her to McCormicks. At the end of the first set, Ethan gets acoustic guitar, sings song he wrote about TTTWFO in response to poem she wrote about being only together 'til. N: You have your wheels back. They go to her home. He carries her into her bedroom--through the closed door with wings. Make love.
Next morning, after shower, Fate writes message on mirror: "He's the Master Corvus. He needs to know." She looks at her map of unusual natural events followed by disaster. She scratches her shoulder, peels off piece of dead skin, except it's the white feather; tip cuts her. Gets tissue, map has bright lights on it, her feather is in hand like pen, she has to touch each bright spot. She puts feather down, hands itches, then feather is on her back, top is black that fades to gray, as if tip dipped in ink and only a little bled down the vane. Ethan wakes, puts rings from Sage on them, now with yin-yang symbol to stop demon possession. Ethan wants to burn map because shows location of all Corvus. How could I map them when you're the Master Corvus? She goes to get matches. Blonde man: Don't destroy map. I will unless you tell me who you are. Michael archangel. Ethan is Master Corvus. He's forgotten who he is, help him find his way, to know who he is and his true purpose. Help him find out what happened so he can find his way back to his destiny. Your world depends on him remembering who he is.

Just a warning -- I may ramble a bit through this review. My thoughts, even after a week, are still SO jumbled from everything that transpired.
Wow, umm, what is the deal with books making me so anxious lately? Destiny is NO exception. I sat on the edge of my seat for most of this book and would have jumped off the into the great abyss if not for the hope that certainly things *had* to work out. And they did. And they didn't. We FINALLY get some answers to questions that have been building in BKoD and Lucid, but of course, P.T. gives us a whole new batch of questions to ask in Destiny.
What started out as a simple premise in book one, a girl who dreams the next day, has gotten VERY complicated as far as supernatural and paranormal. Each story has added a complexity to the mix, and the lore P.T. uses is pretty facinating. I think this is my favorite part of these books -- it isn't something I've seen done before. Of course, Fate is back, but this time he isn't the biggest threat to Nara and her family. We learn more about the connection to the ravens and the book Nara was given in Lucid. We find more about some minor characters from Lucid and begin to get a bigger picture of the world that P.T. has been building thus far. Even with the relationship issues, we get to spent a LOT of time on the mythology. Honestly, this was the best part to me, because it was so complicated and unknown, especially when compared to other fantasy/paranormal books out there.
There's a lot of angst in this book, much more compared to Brightest Kind of Darkness and Lucid. It is obvious that Ethan has changed in Lucid, and honestly I was pretty unimpressed with some of his interactions with Nara. He was very possessive and "mine, mine" about her. When we mix this behavior with the darkness that Destiny opens up to, I found myself wondering where the boy in Brightest Kind of Darkness went. It seems the more he learns about who he is the more he loses himself. And that is no exception in Destiny.
Of course, we add another relationship kink in the mix: the hot Corvus trainer, Danielle. So, the triangle has moved to some messed up rectangle, and everyone is always blowing up at someone. The book spends a lot of time focusing on the tangled mess as well as what kind of future there is for Nara and Ethan. I will say even with Danielle and Drystan, Ethan and Nara seem to not focus on anyone but the other. Their issues of jealous are towards these characters, rather than each other. Even still, the duo spend a lot of time out of sync with one another.
Due to some deductive skills, I figured out a few things, including the ending. I was not surprised by the twist, and in fact with the addition of other paranormal beings in the book, was expecting it. It was a nice, balanced way to end the book -- just the perfect balance of resolution and cliff hanging.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book. It's fast-paced, unique, and uber-addicting. The book is rather long, especially compared to the other two, but it is well worth the time and effort. I never once felt bored or bogged down by the book, even when we were given SO much information. The book sailed by, especially since I needed some answers to relieve the pressure that has been building thus far. I know most readers are having a love/hate relationship with the book -- loving the story, but hating that we have to wait to know what happens next!

Well, compared to how much anxiety the beginning of the book gave me, I handled the end rather well. And I'm proud to say I correctly identified the way the story is heading. Yay for my deductive skills!

Destiny opens up with Ethan having met an accident and losing his memory from one month before. As it cannot be mere coincidence, Nara starts looking through where he has been and finds out that he had lied to her about where he was, more specifically about Danielle. Her search for answers leads her deeper into the mysteries of the Corvus and their role on Earth; actually it's pretty much a back-story on the Corvus and the Order and while several times it is hinted that Nara also has some significance to the Corvus, most of the book focuses on discovering what Ethan is.
The plot-line moves a bit slowly, and is more focused on the information regarding Corvus. Through two books, it was difficult to categorize the type of paranormal but now we finally have a ballpark area - it skims around angel and demons. It however, keeps it own mythology (which I love!) and takes little from angel lore so far. The major events definitely happened in the second half of the book, with Nara facing against Fate multiple times (although Fate takes a backseat in this book) and managing to come out alive thanks to Ethan. As far as Ethan's and Nara's relationship is concerned, with his memory loss in the start, it was like taking a step backward from where they had been in Lucid but that boy sure knows to speed things along. Dyrstan's role is quite diminished in this book, considering he had more to offer and I really hope he is in the next book. Most importantly, with the threat of a love triangle looming in my mind, it was good that Ethan and Nara stay together even with all these outside forces trying to break them. Their love is intense, to say the least, and adding a third or fourth wheel would definitely have been bad.
Ethan changes a lot as a character during this book - he becomes much more confident, ruthless and charismatic, and a little bit dangerous too - and goodness, he is hot. Nara had a tough time keeping him at a distance because she was 'supposed' to be angry with him for his lies but that plan goes down the drain when he is being so sexy. The chemistry is good and some sexy scenes nearly push the YA barrier so I would recommend it for older teens. Drystan, as I said before, was stuck into the role of luring Nara into a love triangle but with the introduction of Paladins, I would like to see where that leads to. Danielle was predictable from the start so I was a bit disappointed in her - specially with how the ending worked out for her. Speaking of ending, that was one killing cliffhanger - you don't leave your readers with that final line!! What does it mean for Inara?? It explains a lot and leaves you with more questions too - all this while the next book's name hasn't even been announced. It's going to be a torturous wait.

This is a series I've loved from the beginning, and I was incredibly excited to read the next part of the story. Nara and Ethan are one of my favorite couples, and their story is utterly enthralling. The use of ravens throughout the story is fascinating, and a theme I've truly enjoyed.
The energy and danger in this book constantly left my stomach in knots! I found myself having to take breaks reading, just to shake out my frazzled nerves. The emotional suspense is wonderful and awful all at the same time, as it is with any great romance story. This story isn't all romance though- the mystery and danger that surround all the characters is addicting and fantastic, and had me nail-biting in worry several times.
The new characters introduced left me guessing about their intentions the whole book. It was a constant yo-yo between wanting to believe they're helping, but thinking they may be dangerous. Throughout the story, all I could think was “Come on, just talk to each other! Fix this stuff, it's silly!” which just made it a book I couldn't stop reading or thinking about for very long. The main characters have all grown so much, and changed completely from where they were in the last book.
Overall, this book has me even more hooked into this series. I loved it, and will read it plenty of times in the future. I'm so glad there's another book after this one, because I'm not ready to be done with this story yet! I would recommend this book to any fan of the series, and anyone who thinks it may be interesting (I'd read the first two though, it's a series you need to stick with to fully appreciate).

This series is getting more interesting by the page.
I love the way the author lays down everything that is going on inside both Ethan and Nara's head. An insight is something I greatly enjoy. It's how we come to feel so connected to each characters in the book. We know what they think, how they feel and react to every situation. Which makes this whole thing even more real than it is. Both characters were developed really well. I must say the element of surprise was shocking too. I never would have seen that coming. Haha. The time where Ethan was supposedly with his family? wow.

This book was packed with action, mystery and romance. I love the angst portrayed from both sides. This is fast becoming my second favorite series in this genre. The memory loss gave the story some great dimension. I love to that it gave us time to really come to terms with their new aspects of their relationship. We have so many new players that at first I thought were temporary. But it turns out they were intrical to the story.
I feel that Nara is the stronger person in this relationship. Doing lots of research on Ethan’s behalf which I feel is kind of odd because he tells her to stop but she doesn’t which in turn causes more strife within their relationship.
Ethan holds too much close to his chest and has some serious trust issues. Totally consistent with his character but it would be nice to see a little more growth in that area. His attachment to Nara comes off borderline obsessive. Again,consistent with his character but the intensity of it got a little repetitive to read.
I love how her family is becoming more and more of a main focus. There’s just so much that happens in this book I can’t address at all! Drystan is a wonderful character in my opinion giving Ethan that push he needs to open up more to Nara. Danielle was a snatch! Wonderful quasi bad guy, she was manipulative, aggressive, self-assured and provided lots of conflict for Nara. The ending was just superb and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

The amount of secrets that got cleared in this book are astonishing. I mean the ravens, how Ethan is a Corvus and all that stuff and man the ending! Hit me right in the gut. I mean seriously. Nara as an angel! If this book could not get more complicated, it just did. I mean what the hell! You can't leave me hanging like that. That is not fair! Its the worst thing you could do to a person. And the romance in the book! It was hot like sizzling hot! The chemistry between Nara and Ethan. Whew! It got me fanning. I would love to have a connection like the one they have though I know its highly improbable. The ending was probably the hottest of them all, I mean before that stupid cliffhanger but, whatever. I guess that makes you excited to read the next book. That would have probably happened anyways :) P.T. Michelle props to you for putting another really good book on the table and after I finish the next book I am gonna start reading your other works cause your damn good. Anyways I loved Ethan in this book. So possessive and though he kept so many secrets that Nara hated I honestly think Nara gave in too easily. But who wouldn't I mean. Just the description of Ethan got me swooning. It was probably a million times multiplied if you see him face to face. How do I always get back to how hot he is. Honestly he is distracting even when I write my reviews :) But who cares

First off when I started this series I was expecting a trilogy then found out about the possibility of a fourth book; to be honest I wasn’t jazzed about that but went along with it. I was also frustrated with the constant delays with the book; for me it kind of took some of the excitement out of the release. But with that said I did enjoy the book and will read the fourth (please let that be the final) but I did not enjoy this read as much as the others.
Destiny on a whole was a much more complicated book terminology wise and it weighed down the book; so much so that they have a glossary of terms at the end of the book as a cheat sheet. In addition to all the terminology we had two love triangles, lost memories and additional side stories. We also lost a good character in the book that I hope come back in the fourth; not as a love interest but as a positive influence and strength to Nara and Ethan.
Finally, this book leaves us knowing what/who Ethan is but the cliffhanger is what/who Nara is?
Overall I enjoyed the book ever though I did have to reread parts as I went to get the terms/situations straight; I hope the next isn't bogged down like this one was. We’ll see what four has in store; I’m hoping for a conclusion in the story.

This one is gonna be hard to review b/c I couldn't read it all in one shot, and that always messes me up. There was a LOT to this one, and it went in some areas that I didn't enjoy as much, but then kicked ass in other areas. It was hard to watch Ethan and Nara grow apart while Ethan was trying to get his memories back. They're both kind of stubborn, and in trying to protect each other, they kind of screwed each other over sometimes. Hated Danielle, but that's not a surprise. I just don't get why Ethan didn't see what Danielle was doing (trying to undermine his relationship with Nara), and kept letting it continue.
The side story with Nara's Dad was kind of cool, but I can't necessarily figure out how it all fits in and so it seemed kind of extraneous at times.
LOVED the glimpses of Michael, and how the book ended. Definitely makes me want to see where this is all going, and what happened in the past, and who exactly is Nara?
The ending relationship stuff with Nara and Ethan was epically satisfying, and I'm so glad they got back to a good place with each other. And whoosh, talk about fabulous chemistry. So the book ended on a strong note, I just wasn't sure about the whole journey I guess. But I can't wait to see where it goes in the next book.

The ending relationship stuff with Nara and Ethan was epically satisfying, and I'm so glad they got back to a good place with each other. And whoosh, talk about fabulous chemistry. So the book ended on a strong note, I just wasn't sure about the whole journey I guess. But I can't wait to see where it goes in the next book.

This was the weakest book in the series so far. I like the action parts best, because the romance is hopelessly full of purple prose, each kiss either "passionate" or "intimate" or at one point even "searing", if I remember correctly (it's possible that I don't). Nara "falls deeper in love" with Ethan every time he touches her gently and wants to reach an even closer intimacy (huh?), he's possessive and aggressive towards Drystan for daring to show interest in his girlfriend. There's supposed to be this super strong UST, but I just don't feel it. When they finally have sex, it's bland and boring to read. I'm guessing this just isn't this author's strong suit. It feels cheesy, not real and not engaging. I just don't get it. But since we're constantly told how much they love each other for evah and evah and want to jump each others' bones, I guess it must be true. Meh.
Anyways, I already bought part four and want to know where the supernatural part of the plot is headed, so I will read on!

This book was definitely worth the wait. It certainly exceeded all of my expectations. I've loved learning about all of the characters in this novel. Watching them grow throughout the series has been like an emotional roller coaster: It's intense, passionate, infuriating and captivating. The world that PT Michele has created is complex and original. It has certainly kept me on the edge of my seat the entire novel. I can't wait for the next one to come out. If you have not read this series, you are truly missing out.

Uhm. Wow. I'm almost speechless. I'm a big fan of this series which I think has gotten better with every book. I love the main characters and the supporting cast. I'm a HUGE fan of the world-building and the complex mythology that has gotten more complex with each book. This was a book that I almost hated to finish, knowing the next one isn't out yet. If you aren't reading this series, you should be.

Finally some answers!!! The ending was a HUGE cliffhanger too that will be making me bite my nails until the next book comes out.
I loved the tension in the book, but it frustrated me at the" same time. I kept screaming, "Just talk to each other and trust each other, darn it!

Destiny is the third book in P.T. Michelle's Brightest Kind of Darkness series. The first introduces us to Nara Collins. Each night she dreams everything that will happen to her the next day, but it isn't until she witnesses a school bombing in her dream that she takes action to change something about her future. This gets her into big trouble with Fate, who doesn't like anyone messing with how things are suppose to happen. In BKoD Nara also meets Ethan Harris, who for some reason never shows up in Nara's dreams. He has his own powers, absorbing people's dark thoughts, which turn into nightmares when he comes into physical contact with anyone. He also has a large raven sword tattoo on his back, which inexplicably showed up one day on its own.
Lucid is the second book in the series. Although we find out a little bit more about Ethan and Nara's abilities, especially the fact that they are somehow connected to ravens, what we mostly get in this installment is more questions and a missing Ethan, who is gone for the majority of the story. We also meet a Parkour loving exchange student named Drystan who has his own unique ability, teaches Nara self-defense and thankfully never becomes a love interest (not for lack of trying on his part, but Nara never wavers).

What I've been longing for since I started reading the first book is answers. In fact, in my review of Lucid, I directly state "I hope the next book features answers, instead of more questions." Thankfully I got my wish. Destiny delivers exactly what I wanted. Because of the massive build up of things-I've-been-dying-to-know-about-these-characters-and-world, Destiny is a long book - nearly 450 pages if it was in paper form. You'll be happy to know that I was on the edge of my seat for almost all of it. In addition to answers, Destiny has a lot of exciting action too.
I read Destiny pretty quickly, because I was desperate to find out what happens next, but I know I'll be going back over some of the more detailed passages. This mythology is quite complex - excitingly so. But it does take time to unravel. Some of the questions we get the answers to in this book: What was Ethan really doing during Lucid? What happened to Nara's father? Why did Ethan seem different when he returned from being away? What does Corvus mean? Is Danielle really Ethan's cousin? Where did Ethan actually get that necklace he gave Nara and what does it do? However, Destiny is not the final book in the series, and because of that not everything is solved. But enough is unraveled that I feel satisfied to speculate until the last book arrives next year.
Angst
At the end of Lucid, Ethan has finally returned from a month-long absence "visiting his parents." I don't think it's much of a spoiler to call into question that statement, because it's fairly clear that Ethan was not really reconnecting with his father and hiking in the wilderness. First of all, he returns looking different: larger, stronger and edgier, and has developed the ability to turn his sword tattoo into an actual weapon. Basically, details aren't adding up. Ethan has a lot of explaining to do, and Nara demands the truth. Unfortunately, there are some complications at the beginning of this story that exacerbate Ethan's obvious falsehoods, and all of that equals another "A" word that this book has in abundance: angst.
Ethan and Nara are not on the same page when Destiny begins. As I was reading, there were definitely moments that I wanted to strangle both of them. I thought they took their stubbornness a little too far, when simple communication would have cleared up a lot. But I also understand that they are young and things are happening around them that are much bigger than both of them. Although we get some scenes from Ethan's perspective, this is still very much Nara's story, and we have to wait for him to reveal the details of everything going on with him.
Still, I was worried for them, biting my nails for a lot of this story and fearful about influences from other people, and especially a triangle. Thankfully, what I've loved about these two throughout the entire series rings true in Destiny too. Nara and Ethan are devoted to each other, despite their differences, insecurities and problems with communication. It is wonderful to see that shine off the pages of this book.
Connection
I really like when an author allows the reader to see the power of a couple together, and I enjoyed the glimpses that we got of Ethan and Nara as a team. When they finally connect in this book, fireworks happen. The chemistry between them is palpable, even when they're fighting, but when they are in sync, they are an unstoppable force. The way that their different natures - Nara's lightness and Ethan's darkness interact and balance each other, continues to be one of my favorite elements of this series. It is also an important detail in these books, and I'm betting it is going to come into play more in the final installment.
Conclusion
With lots of answers, action and a whole lot of swoon, even among the angst, Destiny reminded me of why I love a this series and, especially, Ethan and Nara, so much. Now I'm eagerly anticipating the moment when I have the final book in my hands.
Love Triangle Factor: NONE! Not from lack of trying from some characters. It is not an easy road, but I am very happy to report that Ethan and Nara stick to their commitments and love for each other.
Cliffhanger Scale: LOW (some might say medium) - This is not the final book and we get a few surprising revelations at the very end. It's the type of conclusion that has me eagerly anticipating the sequel, but not stressed out about it.

Wow. Lucid was a really bad sequel, but Destiny just made up for it a thousand times over. I love the raw passion between Ethan and Nara (I would've loved it to be rawer), and all the new information about the story. Michelle has created a world (Congrats to her, very few people can pull it off) that is not unlike the real one, just better, more interesting. Demons and angels? Not my first pick, but I love how she's writting them.
Love, friendship, trust, fear, are a few examples of how the characters have been challenged in the book.
I think Michelle loves cliffhangers because that's all she does.

I pretty much enjoyed this book as much as the others in the series, except for I didn't like the back and forth POV from Nara to Ethan. I don't feel like we really learned anything from having his perspective in there every once in a while.
I really enjoyed that we are getting to learn more and more about what is going on! I'm looking forward to the next book

Love the series so far! I cannot put these books down! Read this one in a day. More twists and turns, and I love how it is all coming together. So much tension and excitement. Was a bit sad to see Drystan exit. I kind of liked his humor and spunk and how he kept Inara on her toes. I hope he comes back into the picture.

Enjoying this entire set from start to the all too soon upcoming finish. I will MISS the people I've come to know in this book when it ends. Already sad. Author knows how to write cliffhanger endings to the books!!

I am sooo thankful for this unpredictable story! Yay such. A breath of fresh air not to be reading the same story . If you read the others than I don’t have to try and persuade you to read this one. I will say that think start unraveling and it will only get better from here!

Wow! I did not see that coming, this book was the best in the series yet because I now have a better grasp on what actually is going on with all their powers and everything else.
