65 Colours Of Rainbow is a delightful and a light read that takes you through different experiences of the techies.

The author has compiled 65 stories, each belonging to a personal experience of an IT professional, containing some light moments they enjoyed during their mundane routine. The author himself is associated with the tech industry and perhaps so, has been able to bring out the true colors of the nerds so well.

It is a short book written in a simple manner adorned with some random caricatures to interest its readers. It is not a kind of long, elaborative, full-fledged novel. Rather it is an anthology of real-life accounts of the geeks(as they are considered) presented in a concise manner. The narration is austere and keeps you occupied. Some of the stories are really interesting. They show us the humorous side of the IT professionals.

The writing style of the author is okay but it could definitely have been better. The title is plain and dull and so, would be unable to pique the interest of the readers. However, the title is perfectly in accordance with the stuff the book contains. The 65 stories actually reflect the other side of the people who toil hard in raking their brains with codes and programs to meet their deadlines, their funny experiences, the light moments of laughter they share during their breaks, the endless conversations and the fear of their bosses. The grammar, the presentation of the content, the flow in thoughts is proper.

It is a book that is symbolic of a unique concept. So, if you are the one who wants to read the stories which are real and a bit humorous, if you want to change your reading pattern for a while, and if you wish to lay your hands at something totally new; you could pick up this one!

65 Colors of Rainbow by Smit Kapila is a collection of sixty five short stories, revolving around the humor and fun that people can find in the stressful jobs that they do. It is a nice collection but isn't something that I particularly enjoyed reading, mainly because of the following reasons:

1. A lot of stories in the book did not make sense to me. A possible reason behind that can be that I am not really into a job right now (I'm still a student). Another possible reason can be that they just did not make sense. It is for you to choose.
2. Some of the stories that I read about tried to be funny, but really weren't.
3. The stories were too short, way too short to have any real implication on me—even that of humour.
4. They weren't really imaginative. I mean, everything was too simple and mundane that I ended up disliking the most of the stories.
5. The writing style of the author, which was rather okay-ish, could have improved to make the stories a teeny tiny bit more engaging.

What I liked about the book, on the other hand, was this:

1. I liked that all of those stories revolved around one particular theme—how to get out of depressing workplace situations and make them fun.
2. In the stories that really were funny, for example, Chip was one of my favourite, I quite enjoyed the humour that came along.
3. The language was simple and easy to read. Nothing about it screamed STOP to me.
4. The illustrations used at the starting of each chapter were quite fun in themselves. I like a book with a good illustration.
5. Because each story was a separate thing, there wasn't much of a plot but knowing that it was a light read, that idea didn't disappoint me either.
6. The book had a rather unique concept to it, considering the way each story was told. (I'm still firm that the style could have been improved, but still, the idea was unique.)

Overall, it was an okay-ish read for me and I think it could have improved upon a lot of aspects. But then again, all of this is simply my own opinion.

Every tragedy in life is a comedy at its core. The instances that give us misery might be a source of pleasure for others. The vice versa also holds true. Nevertheless, we must derive joy in the fleeting moments and live our life to the fullest.

'65 colours of Rainbow' is a collection of 65 hilarious anecdotes straight from the expanses of a corporate cubical. For the employees caged in the glass structures, small moments of joy provide them much needed respite from the looming deadlines and other work related stress. In short, the book is a bubble of the hustling corporate life.

The cover is colourful and lively, in semblance to the theme.Amidst the narration, the functionality of a corporate organisation comes into being. The simple and lucid language will engage even a non-reader. The characters sound realistic. Supervisors, Developers, Married couples, Testers and even the bosses weren't spared. A character's audacity will surprise you. The numerous excuses they cook up to escape from work will befuddle you or lead to the flow of your creative juices. You might distance yourself with one of them due to their aloofness. Some of the characters might be a reflection of you. Couple of incidents were a revelation of all sorts. The caricatures added some extra dollops of humour. The narration was sans any emotional drama which made it a pleasant read.

The book is the one with a message which tells us to stop for a while and cherish the moment rather than jumping into the rat race every time.

I couldn't find humour in some of the stories. The incidents could have been elaborated a little.

The cover is beautiful but it can be much better. The title is apt for the plot. It’s a collection of 65 short story. The narration is perfect. As the author points it right in the foreword that in a busy schedule one has now-a-days it is hard to find time during the day to read a book. The length of the stories makes it easier for the workaholic people to spare a few minutes for a good smile without being stressed about the time lost. It is then, when a quick and refreshing read like short stories play their part and keep us entertained. These stories are short and funny so it's really enjoyable. It helps us laughing alone through small memorized events happens in the IT professionals life. The each story in the book is very short hardly two pages. These stories are not outright humorous, so don't go there expecting a good laugh. It rather will make you remember some of the funny incidents from your surroundings, workplace and will make you smile. This book intends on refreshing your mood and putting a upward curve to your lips. I like most of the stories The Chip, Busy Fellow, The Toffee, The April Fool, , The Sick Leave, The Mail are the some stories which i enjoyed the most while reading. The author has done a good job in narrating all the stories with ease. The language is simple to follow which make it easier for the reader to connect to the characters in the stories and resonate with them.

An engaging read, you can take this one up on a lazy afternoon. I will recommend this book to all workaholic person.

There are 65 short stories full of light humour. I actually loved reading the book as it made me feel light and good. Even though it is a very short read, it took me more than a week to finish it because of my exams. I used to read it during the study breaks and the stories made me laugh and actually helped in removing my stress a bit (exam stress)

These aren't the stories of high imagination, but the funny and wierd incidents happening in our boring desk jobs. The stories are of a vast variety but revolve around a common theme, i.e. the workplace.   All the stories are weaved perfectly and the caricatures are so apt to the situation. Some stories were really humorous while some of them seemed too bland and failed to touch my heart.

The language thus, was simple, lucid and easy going. Narration was crisp and concise. The title of each tale was aptly chosen. It is a delightful and a light read that you'll enjoy reading it. An engaging read, you can take this one up and finish it in a day. I will recommend this book to all workaholic person.

65 colours of Rainbow by Smit Kapila is a ‘read on the go’ kind of book. I finished reading this book in one shot during my train ride from Kolkata to Mumbai. It contains short and crispy anecdotes from regular corporate life. If you have ever worked in a multinational company you would easily relate to most of the stories. Many of us would have similar incidences to narrate from our lives. I am glad that Smit Kapila wrote about the colourful part of corporate life. These are more like short ‘jokes’ than stories.
The stories that I absolutely loved and laughed a lot are Sleep, The Limping Leg, The Toffee (my personal favourite) The Loo and The Devil Calling. If you are looking for some light-hearted read do go for this book.
In few cases however the stories are funny, hilarious but often the narration is a bit insipid, the essence of the stories would have evolved with better narration. In many chapters, the author begins with sentences like ‘my friend narrated this funny incidence” it would have been better if the author had left it for the reader to decide if the incidence was funny or not.

Our life , basically professional life seems too hectic! Every day's work pressure in office makes us sick. Still we get lots of good memories from our job, work life! This book is contained of 65 short stories from office experience that can make the readers laugh and can lighten the readers mood. Loved the way how author described all small incidents with great humor.
The pictures that added in the beginning of every story, made the book more attractive.
The cover is really beautiful and the choice of colours is good.
Language is lucid!
Really enjoyed the book.

Synopsis:
There is a wonderful saying: “The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.”
In this highly competitive world, life of corporate work-force is full of all kinds of strain and stress. There is no way we can escape from our jobs and its work pressure, but we can certainly counter it by enriching the fun and laughter quotient at work.
65 Colours of Rainbow is a collection of sixty-five short stories and caricatures based on real life, work-related incidents. This pleasingly warm collection writes with terrifying compassion
about the things that matter most.
The distinctive narrative caricatures demonstrate how extraordinary the ordinary can be!!
My review:
65 Colours of Rainbow was an interesting read. As a collection of several short stories- extended anecdotes really, it provided laughter, and also introspection. The main vein is that of humour however, and in that the author has succeeded quite well. People in the IT sector will definitely love this book and I’m sure will easily relate to them. Other non-IT related people will also, for sure, find certain instance which may have happened to them too- I certainly did.
However, there were a few stories which did not make sense to me, unfortunately. I also do not like the cover- it’s too childish and hardly conveys the content of this story. But nonetheless, its quit pleasing to the eye in a cute and childish way. The caricatures were of an entirely different level- very funny while also adding authenticity to the stories. And they have been made by the author himself!
The language used was very simple and error-free. This book has surely been edited well. I could hardly find any grammatical errors, let along any typing errors.
Verdict:
I rate this book a 3/5 stars for the laughter I spent!

'A normal working person spends 1/3rd of his/her important part of the life working in office. Endless tasks to meet and most importantly all contradictory.'

"65 Colours of Rainbow" by Smit Kapila published by Shrishti Publishers & Distributors in 2018, 1st Edition a book of 131 pages priced at Rs. 175.

Genre - Short Humorous Stories

This book as per disclaimer might be a work of fiction but the stories are so apt and close to reality that we all must have experienced such incidences in tits & bits around us. It is like a mix flavoured dish served all in one book.
All stories are different from each other, some are like common ones and some leaves a smile on your face. Very brilliantly written and summarised. The author being himself and engineer could understand the small small nuances which arise during different situations while working in professional environment. The basic aim was to make everyone understand that we are actually spending 1/3rd and even more part of our important years of life working in office and those years won't come back. When we are energetic and want to roam around the world and we have a rebel kind of attitude, we are forced to work leaving a very little time for ourselves. So that time we all need to use wisely and must balance the work life and leisure life otherwise the trie essence of life will be lost.
There are 65 stories all worth reading, full of humour and each story guaranteed leave a smile on your face. Different illustrative cartoons drawn before every short story is like introduction to the story and adds to the content of the book and also adds fun factor during reading.
I definitely recommend this book to all the readers who are interested in short stories and are up for some corporate humour.

65 Colours Of Rainbow is a beautiful light read that takes you on a tour of corporate-tech-life.
A compilation of 65 stories, each of its pieces belong to a personal experience of an IT professional, containing some humorous (and meaningful) tales. The author himself is associated with the tech industry and perhaps that’s the reason why he has been able to do justice to this book to a great extent... A lot of stories in the book however, did not appear as relevant. At times I felt like the humor content could be more natural. However I’d like to congratulate the author for such an amazing debut. He’s sure to come up with way better books in the future.

All of us would have had our dose of the midweek blues at work. Its quite natural to get stressed out get into a “Im not gonna work today” mode at times Especially the ones in the IT Company, as we are stereotyped. In such situations, we often go out and relax, indulge in some games or fun activities etc.
What if are unable to do any of it either??
Just a grab a book and spend some time reading it.I’m sure you will feel completely different after reading. So Next time, you feel so, I would suggest to get your hands on this book.
About this Book and Why to Read it
"65 Colours of Rainbow" is a collection of 65 short stories about various real life incidents happening at our workplace. How the author manages to keep the originality of these incidents and also manage to give a tint of humor to it is amazing. He gets the very small aspects ,on focus,at work which often goes unnoticed. The stories will definitely get a smile on your face.Often, you might end up relating it to a similar situation that happened with you, just like I did.
The language used is simple and easy to understand. You would also come across a funny story on Chips, quite familiarly used in world of semiconductors, as the Author works in that sector. The best part of these stories is the caricatures used in the beginning of story, which gives us a hint of what’s going to come ahead. It gets easy to picturize the situations because of these cute illustrations. I am sure most of us will be able to finish this book in a day. All in all , Grab this, if you are looking out for a short read with subtle humor.

Smit Kapila is an Electronics engineer who works in an MNC.
A declaration first: I am also an engineer so I have a soft corner for engineers. However I don’t work in an MNC but most of my friends do.

Life in the fast corporate world can be tense and boring most of the time. So it helps to have a sense of humour. The purpose of the book is to find fun in normal workplace situations. This is not a full blown novel or even short stories. These are stories culled from daily office goof ups, banter, pranks and foolish episodes.

There are sixty five tales. These are like LAPREK (LAGHU PREM KATHA) of Ravish Kumar. The only difference is that these are not romantic but fun stories. So these can be called LAHAK (Laghu Hasya Katha).

The situations are everyday office happenings with which any corporate employee can identify. Like writing abuses (good words ahem) in mail and using reply all. So all girls vanish from group.

Typing a generic mail and keeping using forward option so the trails also goes to everyone. Sleeping in office conference room and getting up when the meeting starts.

Bet one for me was when a mechanical engineer (who have no female students during college) asking for a change of project. When he is asked the reason the candid reply is that there are no girls on the team. So he is thrown out.

It is a good humours book. 3.5/5 stars.

.
65 Colors of Rainbow by Smit Kapila
.
Foreword :
Such a refresher. After all those intense topics and serious reading, this one is as light and as sweet as cotton candy. Gets over in a jiffy too, very unfortunately though
The title is truly like a spot of sunshine among rain clouds, sixty five colors of rainbow indeed. The cover picture is just about okay.
.
.
About the book:
Honestly, when I picked up this book, without reading the blurb. I thought, oh well, just another mushy lovestory !
.
.

I must say the author has managed to pleasantly surprise me with these crisp, relevant and oh- so-funny anecdotes from today's office spaces
.
.
It is like a breath of fresh air to read one-two page stories and kudos to the author for coming up with such a rare and unexplored topic. .
.
Takeaway :
In a serious, mundane world, such a book on seemingly innocent, rarely thought about but worth-a -chuckle anecdotes makes the work-space more tolerable, lively and fun.
It aims to raise the fun quotient at work and probably leads to more productively
.
Can you think of a work-space anecdote that made your day a little brighter and a little lighter? .

65 colours of Rainbow
This book is a collection of 65 humorous colourful short stories with a apt title.

These aren't the stories of high imagination, but the funny and wierd incidents happening in our boring desk jobs.

We all have heard a saying "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" so in our work places we'll tend to have alittle fun and this book is of such funny stories.

The stories are everyday office incidents with which every corporate employee can relate, penned in simple language with stories not more than 2 pages makes this book a must read for all the guys trying to find little fun at workplaces.

Funny stupid incidents like forwarding mails while forgetting to attach files, browsing irrelevant things not observing the boss, sending mails to wrong person, forgetting to unlock system while going away qnd many such incidents.

Final verdict:
A good humorous book with relatable events.

"65 Colours of Rainbow" by Smit Kapila is a different take that offers a blend of 65 little incidents narrated in the form of stories garnished and flavored with humor, warmth and wittiness.

He has crafted the short stories related to the work that one can easily relate to the daily life. Author, Smit Kapila hails from IT background and has woven the stories around his experience dealing with daily activities, tensions, swings in the corporate workplace. Author has made a good attempt to lighten up it by bringing smiles and humor to nearly all the stories. Smith Kapila has compiled sixty five short stories in his book 65 Colours of Rainbow. There are times when certain policies are not implemented the way they should be, work is not done as expected and co-workers behave in a certain way during our professional hours. The stories in this book are based on these unusual things which sometimes lead to funny or even embarrassing outcome. Although it is based on incidents that happened in the life of various engineers working in IT Department, one can enjoy the stories as the book has universal appeal. I was even reminded of few funny incidents which happened at my workplace while I was reading this book.
🌈

This book is a really light read, each story could be read in about a minute and the language is very simple. I would suggest you to take it to your workplace and read a chapter or two during your break hours for a stress free time.

This book is a collection of 65 short stories. Each story is accompanied by a caricature that has been drawn by the author himself. The stories are of a vast variety but revolve around a common theme, i.e. the workplace.
The book is refreshingly different. Each story is brief and amusing as well as entertaining to read. Though the stories revolve around people working in the IT industry, anyone who has worked in an organization will be able to relate to and enjoy reading them.
If you are looking for a breezy and light read, I will certainly recommend this book to you. People of all ages can certainly understand and enjoy the book.

It is a very light read. The caricatures add an element of creativity in the book. They are well placed and thoughtful.
It is great for people who do not like to read a heavy duty books and get bored very easily with following the same story.
It is bunch of daily life work stories. If you are someone who work in corporate, then you can probably relate to many incidents. This book can surely bring smile to your face and bring back many memories.

This book is a light read. Through 65 stories the writers makes us travel through the daily problems at work on me encounters, but with a sarcastic end to it. I wouldn’t say a must read, but it’s a Good Read.

A short book with 65 short stories compiled together with author's experiences of his IT professional life. The stories are nice and intruging.
The cover and language could have been better. The title of the books is okish but apt for the story. Some stories are very good filled with humour.
In a day with hectic schedule, this book is a light read. The way the stories are presented is great.
An enginner's life with all the chaos and humour in the workplace is beautifully described.
Finally, a great book which can bring you smile.
