This book follows the action in the previous book, Jex, where Helen Maven’s sister, Hannah, had gone on a supply run for their hidden colony when they were attacked by the cyborgs. Hannah was actually taken captive by the cyborgs, which was not at all typical of the vicious machines who normally killed everyone in sight!

King Karik had sent his leaders to as many human colonies as they could locate. He ordered General Rai Razook to check on the Orlando colony. They were not even sure the human colonies they were told about would still be there, but they were hopeful. The weredragons carried a computer virus to the humans which would help defeat the deadly cyborgs who had taken over Earth. If the humans could infect the main computer that controlled the cyborgs with the virus, it would wipe out the cyborgs in their area. Earth was able to repay the weredragons for their help by allowing human women to mate with any weredragons dying from the lethal blackness plague which targeted their Veruka race but was harmless to humans. The blending of human and weredragon DNA provided a cure.

On their way to Orlando, Razook spotted a woman being dragged away by cyborgs and he flew down to rescue her. He had hoped to find a human to trust him and explain to the other humans that they had not come to harm them. But Hannah had been injured and passed out on their ship, still thinking she was dreaming this rescue – until she woke up face down on an examining table in the infirmary. Razook entered and answered her questions. Then he proposed a contract between them. He would return her to her sister’s colony if she would speak on their behalf at the next colony they needed to talk to . . . AND, if she would then have sex with him! She was outraged, but she needed time to figure out how to get out of this predicament. Would she continue to mistrust them? Would she help them talk to the other colony so they could help defeat more cyborgs? And would she agree to the other uncomfortable request the General suggested?

This is an enjoyable series, although it needs a good editor to fix the incorrect or misspelled words that detract from it. But despite the errors, I particularly enjoy the character development as we meet the heroes and learn their strengths. The story lines are consistently good, with each book of the series focusing on a different human outpost and how it fits in with the rest of the series. Check it out and see what you think!

The author does a great job with sci-fi romances. In this series, you have a group of dragon shifters that are determined to keep the humans alive after discovering the woman can save their warriors by mating with them.

Cyborgs have been killing off humans and there are only small communities left. They send their warriors to these communities and offer assistance in exchange for their their help with their warriors.

Rai finds a female in need and wants to help her in return for her assistance. She is resistant to his charms, at least at first. When she is put in danger, he comes to the rescue.

Rai and Hannah are a good couple. They both are strong and determined and very protective of those they love. She is not sure she can trust him but he impressed her with his actions. They definitely have good chemistry. I recommend you read all the books in the series but it can be read as a standalone.

This is a fascinating & intriguing book to read, and I absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this wonderful book is: weredragons, a feisty human female, humans, cyborgs, drama, suspense, intrigue, action, blackmail, betrayal, compromise, needs & desires, lust, love and some erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written and keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are well developed with personalities and moods suited to the situations they find themselves in. This is a well written shifter/alien romance with a HEA and I would recommend this book to people who like to read this kind of book.

The fourth and final book in the alien weredragon series. This book brings the end of the series and tells of what the future will bring to book the the humans and weredragons. We get to have Hannah’s story told. We first met her in the third book when we met her twin Helen. Hannah starts of with getting captured by the cyborgs. But fate seems to play a hand and one handsome alien finds here when she needs him most. He blackmails her but don’t put that against him. She is a fighter and can handle him. More cyborg fighting to save the earth and humanity.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

The adventure continues on in this intriguing read. This fast paced story pick right up from the previous story Jex where Helen sister Hannah, had gone on a supply run for her colony when she was attacked by cyborgs. What I like about this book is that it's jam packed with action, suspense, blackmail, betrayal, and of course desires, lust and steamy romance. There plenty going on to keep you hooked from beginning to end. Overall enjoyable and entertaining read. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

The story is well written and has big plot twist that keep you reading. The characters are likable and have strong personalities. My problem is the male portions to have sex with a human female was unrealistic and the dialogue was dry. The dialogue didn't flow like the author's other books. Despite all that, it was still a good book. I received a free copy for an honest review.

This was an interesting end to this series. The story development for this series was good, but it either needed to continue because we went from the beginning of the war with the weredragons to the end in one chapter. This is probably one of bettter Maia Starr book series.

I have received this book as an ARC. This is my freely given review.
General Rai Razook has been sent out with a brigage from Haven Brook, a colony that has become home based for the Veruka and humans, for the war between them and the Clenok cyborgs that has already killied most of the human population.
Razook is to fly north, with his brigade, towards Orlandoto find human colonies that are still fighting. He has the computer virus that will stop the cyborgs, and it is vital for it to get to all human colonies. Orlando however is empty, no humans there. So flying south, looking for other colonies, the General comes across a small band of hostile refugees. As they are leaving, Razook sees a human being dragged bu a group of cyborgs. He immediately flew down and freed the woman, taking her back to his main ship.
Hannah Maven was bewildered as to what had just happened. First she's being dragged, then this 'thing' cut her loose, took her in his arms and flew up into the air with her. Then everthing went black.
She awakes, in a medical room, wondering if she has been dreaming. When Razook walked into the room, she knew it wasn't a dream, but possibly a nightmare! Who was this .. what would you call it?
As they intodruced themselves, Hannah is shocked when Razook offers her a deal. He would take her home to her sister if she would help him talk to another colony and then sleep with him!
Rai wanted her to mate so that he would not be stricken with the plaque that was killing the men on his plant. It has been proven that if the weredragons mated with female humans, the femakes DNA joined with their own and it cures it.
Maia Starr takes to the stage again and lays out a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat as her writting places you right there in front of all the action on stage. There's a lot of nail chewing, heart thumping twists and turns that keeps you reading until the end. Get comfortable, you won't be able to put this one down!

This is Hannah's story. We learned of her in the last book -- Jex. She's Helen's twin sister that was missing. General Rai Razook rescues Hannah from the cyborg and makes her deal she can't refuse. Hannah holds her own against Rai. She is the perfect match for the General. The sparks between the two is amazing. She is also protector/leader which she proves throughout the book -- especially when she and Rai find themselves in a dangerous situation. The book is fast paced and you can't put it down... When you've reached the end, you're happy and sad at the same time.. happy at the way it ended but sad that it's over -- if that makes sense...
