Ashton Miller was the richest, most powerful and sexiest man alive. Being a multimillionaire, he had everything he could have ever wanted; girls, cars, and so much money he didn't know what to do with. As the biggest playboy in New York, Ashton jumps from girl to girl breaking their hearts as he went along. He didn't care about anything other than his company and himself.
Layla Kingston. Layla was NOT rich, actually Layla was basically broke. She worked as a waitress. She didn't have guys all over her, in fact she's only had one boyfriend and that didn't turn out well. Layla didn't have it all, in fact she's had a very hard life, and just when she thinks her life is finally starting to turn over it turns out way different than she thought.
A story about two wounded polar opposites crossing paths.
Wasn't very good. There was just this moment when I had a realization: "oh, this is that kind of story".
The characters were one dimensional and it all was just one cliché after another.
The part that was most ironic for me was when Layla started working for Ashton and it was revealed what kind of boss he is. The entire beginning he whined about her boss's treatment of her and how abusive he is, and then we find out that none of Ashton's employees like him because he's an ass, and treats people pretty shitily. He is hard on her from day one on the job, doesn't give her proper guiding to do it well and give her big tasks to do on her own right away, one of them even being the gala of the year to his company. How did he become rich this fast with the way he works and being portrayed is baffling. And with all that he is being super cold, harsh, sardonic, not appreciative, ignoring and ignorant. Yeah, you are a great boss.
I just saw it was published through wattpad. Somehow it doesn't surprise me.
The plot is nonexistent, Layla is the main character who has the personality of a potato. Could be tasty, but just full of easy carbs, and you also have to dig in the dirt for it to mean anything. I'm sorry, comparing Layla to a potato is an insult to potatoes!
In the end - I think you can master that I do not recommend this... Thing.
And I want to add that it might be a preference of mine, but I like the female MC to be wooed, and to have romantic tension and want to be with the other person. I did not enjoy their lack of chemistry, the need to have drama so to switch Ashton's personality and add another love interest who was just as bland. Also, if Ashton doesn't put in some effort to be with you and takes you for granted then WHY do you try so hard to convince him to be with you?! It is pathetic. It shows your lack of respect for your health and well being, just... I hate this shit.
oh i didn’t realize how many wattpad books are on here… anywho, i read this about a month ago and aston is a sick and doesn’t deserve layla. he spent 90% of the book being an asswhole to her just because his ex girlfriend cheated on him…i gave it two stars instead of one because the writing was good enough that i finished the book despite me absolutely hating the love interest
